  1. This. Is. Good. News. Looking forward to collecting the details so I can jam it down every Carlton-Supporting-Mate that have already bought Carlton tops with #13 on the back
  2. Proliferation of media channels/programs is definitely changing journalism. After 3 rounds 10 years ago most of the media commentary around an unproven team who goes 3 zip would be ā€˜wait and see’ but nowadays commentators are obsessed with taking an early position and making bold statements. ā€˜Can Melbourne win the premiership’ questions on podcasts are all about headline/traffic grabbing and very little about the reality of where we are at.
  3. A lot of hype about Moore but he gets a lot of goals kicked on him
  4. Conceptually like the idea but you’ll lose a small (eg Sparrow) to achieve that which might throw the defensive balance and mid-rotation plan out.
  5. The 1%er. Don’t feel like I’ve seen enough of that in recent years. I hope the young fella gets called out when the team review the game
  6. Gawn Hunt Langdon Trac Pickett Viney (Lever stiff)
  7. Not the thread for it but Cameron Ling is limited as a human being

They need to burn it down and start again. The editors there have too much power (I’ve had to deal with them before) - they are obsessed with video and have ended up with this shocking imbalance. Unreadable/unwatchable/unbrowsable.
  9. My guess is the coaches don’t judge his performance on either of those stats. I thought he looked too slow pre-season but his pressure has been good first two games.
  10. ā€œScully to kick 3ā€
  11. Quiet early but important in the last
  12. 6 Salem 5 Oliver 4 Kossie 3 Trac 2 May 1 Nibbler
  13. PTSD kicked into gear tonight seeing Geelong rob the opposition of the win at the cattery late in the game. I still have tuohy nightmares
  14. Completely reasonable to make some selection decisions on who you are playing.

Probably right re. multiple factors impacting crowd volumes... no doubt the issue is exacerbated for smaller clubs by the rabid media commentators. I’m mainly worried about fixturing now - sloppy game in Rd1 plus the perception that even our own supporters won’t come and watch us will see us end up with more than a few Sunday 4.40 timeslots Rd 6 and beyond.
  16. In his presser Goodwin made a comment which suggested that AVB Hibbo & Melksham not in the mix this week
  17. I don’t disagree with you. ā€˜Jones out’ prediction was largely based on them looking to up pressure on the ball carrier this week (Jones didn’t lay a tackle last week). Plus I am guessing they’ll use Jones more sparingly this yr than they have in prior years.
  18. Trying my best to read between the lines in Goody’s presser I see Viney and Chandler in. Harmes out and my best guess is Chunk out with him.
  19. Would’ve really liked to have played ā€˜aints when Brown/Weid were back. You can stretch them down back.
  20. https://www.sen.com.au/programs/whateley/ ā€˜The Monday Means test with David King 22.03’ - at the 14 minute mark Gary Pert says; ā€œ we would expect a crowd of 45 to 50 thousand peopleā€.
  21. That’s where I heard it.
  22. I don’t make stuff up. Pre-game he’d revised his expectations because he knew the ticket sales. The week prior he is on record as saying he forecasted 45-50k.
  23. Pert sounded similarly confident about getting 50k to the G on Saturday. Kingy and Whately just questioned whether Pert has his finger close enough to the pulse. I’d be lying if I said I completely disagreed with them...
  24. Dominant defence helped with that. Same thing that probably saved a 100 point loss to Footscray in the pre-season game
  25. VERY small sample but midfield dynamics seem to have gone backwards under Yze. Hope there is a method to his madness
