  1. They are the same ticket though, right? So if I’m a Port supporter and want to watch the Port game I also get a seat at the Melbourne game (which I would imagine many wouldn’t bother rocking up for).
  2. Really?! The stands will be empty for our game until late!!
  3. I hope someone can help me answering this as I’m losing sleep over it; Melbourne v Essendon match will finish roughly 1 hour before Port Doggies match is set to commence at the same ground… How does that worth with ticketing? Do they give people with the Melb Ess tickets 30 mins to leave the ground and then start allowing Port Doggies game ticket holders into the ground 30 mins before bounce? And what about the rubbish and junk that is left all over seats after any afl match… do they just leave it there?
  4. AFL just sent out a post on Facebook about the home/away team decisions for this round and it has our game at 3.40pm… the fixture has always said 4.10pm, right? edit. Ignore: didn’t factor in the different time zone thing
  5. They are though, aren’t they? Tom Morris on the media side and then Lethlean, Simkiss et al at AFL House as examples? On the illicit drug testing side of things, you’ll notice no player is currently getting caught through a testing process, it is all stupidly being caught on camera. For some time now, players who claim they have ‘mental health challenges’ can sit out ‘mandatory’ illicit drug testing. Not sure if it was a measure introduced after the issues Tuck went through. I’m sure it is legitimately used by some but similarly there are those who use it as a loophole. I know one player for certain (non-MFC) who is in the ‘loophole’ category.
  6. I’ve seen it. Definitely both reference to drugs and visual of drugs. Edit. It’s definitely on the weirder side of videos. Not sure if there willl be too much grief from the AFL over it but there will be plenty of grief from his wife and two children at home, regardless of when it was filmed.
  7. I understand your point about the ring-chasing and instability for some clubs’ supporters (look at the Nets this year) but it is a heap of fun and undeniably increases interest in the sport. It will happen in the AFL, I would put my house on it. The one thing they need to put in place prior is a lottery-draft pick system (which will also happen) - you can’t have a mid-season trade period before it because the tanking would be nek level.
  8. I meant more so that it is so on knife’s edge that they’re calling in the big guns. They’re not calling on Byron if they’re confident his signature is a fait accompli
  9. Great to hear Byron jumped on board for the pitch, frightening to hear it is in the position where they needed to ask Byron to jump on board for the pitch.
  10. If using the pre-season as a dress rehearsal for what you want to do in the season ahead, Dees get top marks: we won our practice match by exactly 50 points. We have gone on to win two of our first three games by exactly 50 points.
  11. The Field Marshall confirming May WILL play tomorrow. Good to go.
  12. We should be. They ran us off our feet last yr
  13. I worry it is the latter
  14. Haha was only tongue in cheek - I had no idea where he was from!
  15. Van Debut-yen! Very excited for the Dutchman. Kick some sausage rolls son.
  16. Surely if they are called the Redlegs and have the same song they must’ve copied MFC? I actually am unclear on the story with Port Adelaide on whether they copied Collingwood or if the name/colours are just a coincidence
  17. Who would you barrack for if it came to pass? I’ve asked a few Demon-supporting mates from Tassie what they would do if that team comes in and the general response seems to be ‘would love a Tassie team to come into the comp but would still barrack for the Dees’
  18. I also twitch a bit when I see good players linked with clubs other than mine but remember this; We’ve recently won a premiership and we’ve only just fallen out of the top 4 for the first time in something like 2 years. It appears to me that Tim Lamb and co. know what they are doing. We are also the club that doesn’t leak so how do you know we’re not in the conversation with King?
  19. Fingers crossed Hawthorn turn their 3 picks into Gysberts, Morton and Blease types. Heck, throw in a 4th and hope they get a Strauss in there too. That would bring me a lot of happiness.
  20. With a bad leg, a stubby in one hand and a boxing glove on the other, it was proving difficult to drive anyway.
  21. Hope we lay into Ashcroft a bit early and Dorko has to be pretend-tough again.
  22. Did Pig travel up with them? I see he isn’t on the emergency list but I do worry a bit about what the plan is to shut down Charlie if he gets off the leash. Melk was great as sub last week but I wonder if Pig is a better choice tonight (assuming Tommo plays for May and Pig is elevated onto emergency list).
  23. Haven’t quite figured out how to post an image on this site to the size limits but photo of Kalani at the Gabba today with Clarry and Trac. Looks easily 200cm already.
  24. 100%. Intel or not, it is round 2 - it just doesn’t make sense to rush a 30+ bloke back after a very recent calf injury (especially after his replacement played so well last week)
