Don’t know how these things play out timeline-wise but I’d certainly prefer we had the bloke taking the reins next year involved in immediate list management decisions and player exit interviews after the last round.

Hearing pretty strong mail that Buckley is locked and loaded but I don’t understand how we can afford him if we have to absorb $1m in the soft gap for Goodwin next year? Is it backending the new coach’s salary (which could screw us in future years) or do we just have a very small budget for assistants?

Heard more than one whisper that the Dees have Buckley lined up and locked in. From some relatively trustworthy types. If it is Nathan, odd they pulled the trigger on Goody like this though… surely it could’ve waited till season end.

Montgomery or Skipworth to coach with Longmire as Head of Footy would be a nice outcome I think.
