  1. If he is Jye Amiss at Freo he’ll be Jye A-out-of-bounds-on-the-full in our side
  2. At least he is speaking to two clubs. Genuinely believe the Dees have said if you want out of here then don’t come back to us with just one club to deal with.
  3. Feels about right. Not sure 14 + 3rd rounder would get Flanders done though if the Saints are offering 7
  4. I’d be shocked if a good young player is involved in any deal. Adelaide would have to agree to it and then we’d have to convince a young player in a side contending for a flag to come to a rebuilding club
  5. We’re only talking about a scenario where the offer is completely unreasonable. Last year when the cats were lowballing the dogs, as a neutral I would’ve viewed Geelong as the irresponsible party if a deal didn’t get done. I think over the long term, net net the club would be better to stand their ground in unreasonable scenarios.
  6. I agree we ain’t getting a first rounder for him but for a pick near the 30s in a compromised / weak draft I’m not against the idea of sending Judd into the draft if/when Freo low-ball us. Send a message to the comp that we’re not going to roll over in these scenarios. I reckon Dogs were close to doing this last year with Smith, the return was just a bit too much to throw away.
  7. The hypothetical trades for Petracca and Merrett are miles apart… Merrett commanding a decent player + 2x first rounders but Trac barely able to muster a second first rounder…. Largely, I believe because Hawks want Merrett and they have a lot to give. Crows want Trac and they have nothing to give. Would be nice if Hawks were back in the Hunt for Trac
  8. Rough on the swans 😬
  9. Surely his visa gets canceled
  10. Imagine how many pages that thread would’ve racked up on 1960s Demonland
  11. Maybe we’re the exception 🤣
  12. I understand that. But clubs can’t control the quality of a draft pool. And I’m yet to see a club throw in more because their first rounder doesn’t yield as quality a player as it might have in previous years. My opinion only, but the value of a first rounder seems to fluctuate more in supporters’ eyes than it does in the eyes of list management teams in trade negotiations.
  13. 2 firsts isn’t ridiculous unders for a 30yo midfielder with question marks in a few areas. I love Trac as much as the next Dee, but I’m just trying to think about what we’ll look like in 3 years’ time - fairly confident it will be better than what we look like if we kept him.
  14. The Trent Croad precedent for a Petracca trade has blown my little Demonland mind. Greg Wells’ defection to Carlton in 1980 was closer in time to Trent Croad’s trade than Petracca’s potential trade is 🤯
  15. That was almost 25 years ago!! Should we reference what we got from Carlton for Barassi as well?
  16. More logic from a trade perspective, yes, but I’m not sure the fit in the GC side is as logical as it is with Adelaide or Hawthorn. We won’t get Flanders + 6 is my hot tip
  17. Why would he deny if it is quite possibly true and if not true not too far from the truth? He’s clearly looking at options, of course he isn’t going to come out and deny anything at the moment.
  18. It’s always bugged me that they don’t make Steven May ‘May’ every year.
  19. I read somewhere end of 2nd round for spargypants ? Couldn’t tell you if it was credible or not, not even sure where I saw it
  20. Because we’ll only have a few more years of him and during that time we won’t be close to finals, if finishing 14th this year tells us anything. Time to cash out.
  21. 0 votes to a midfielder taking up a crazy amount of our salary cap. Of course he has upside, as many on here argue, largely because there isn’t possibly any more downside.
  22. For all those saying ‘just hang onto him unless the deal is great’, I’m sure that will be the negotiating position but all signs are pointing towards both parties want to move on from each other. Not entirely clear why Christian wants out (again) but I sense he is more isolated within the club than he once was. Fairly open secret too that his wife hasn’t gotten along well with many of the wags (my last intel on this was 1 year ago so not sure if that has changed). As for the club? Sure he is still a very good player (2nd b&f) but he is 30, has inconsistent disposal (that is being generous), butchers the ball in front of goal, the game has moved away from what his strengths as a footballer are, one of highest paid on the list and maybe they think he is part of the cultural problems the club needs to re-set from. Sounds like reasonable grounds to move him on and try and get something from it.
  23. Yes please. But sadly I think Demonland is the only group that thinks this is a possibility.
