  1. Iโ€™d have Brown for sure, and a few other changes to refresh them - and also, that will stop anyone thinking that it is an easy game, after tonight, which would be such a Melbourne thing to think.
  2. WB top of the ladder? They look ordinary to me.
  3. I did click on N52. It said there were seats available. When I clicked to except my tickets, I found the tickets allocated to me were on the other side of the ground. Is there some link that I should be using that I have missed?
  4. Can someone help me? I have reserved seats in Bay N52. I go to Ticketek, into my barcode, enter the Melbourne allocation, click on N52, which it tells me has seats available, but when I am allocated the seats, they are on the other side of the ground! Is there any special technique on the Ticketek site to get seats in the position that you indicate?
  5. Bringing BBB and Weed in together is too big a change imv. Our attack is ranked sixth in the league on points scored, and if we had kicked straighter we would be a lot higher than that. Suddenly bringing in two marking forwards would completely change the dynamic, and against the top teamโ€ฆ? One or the other, to replace Mitch Brown, is the way to go. When Frisch is ready and Jones had his 300, the change is obvious.
  6. I agree with both of you. He should put his hand up and ask for a couple of weeks off โ€œmanagedโ€, then play his 300th in a home game at the G against Sydney, and then retire. It was interesting in the Best 22 thread how few people had him in it - and apparently Goody agrees.
  7. That is a big out! Very hard player to replace, and in terrific form...
  8. Outstanding news! And how incredible, watching him play and remembering is much he has done already - and heโ€™s only 23!!
  9. What a crock. How do you barrack against your own player?
  10. Totally agree. After Greeneโ€™s second goal, they showed the overhead vision. The GWS player that ran past for a handball and delivered long to Greene was being โ€œchasedโ€ by Jones at a half-hearted jog. He does it all the time. Can anyone imagine him sprinting to intercept? - as Kossi did on that kick-in?
  11. I truly hope they donโ€™t sit on their laurels with no change. Sparrow didnโ€™t do much, Nev Jetta is really struggling, and I guess theyโ€™ll keep Jones until his 300 but then he should retire. I canโ€™t stand watching him just jogging when the other team has the ball.
  12. Some people dread taking an important kick for goal โ€“ e.g. Eishold, last quarter, 1987 prelim. Others absolutely love it and turn from being pretty accurate to being certainties when the moment calls for it -Jakovich was like that. So I say: Kossie.
  13. How on earth did Harris Andrewโ€™s beat Steven May for AA last year??!!
  14. Flower, Schwarz, Warren Dean (briefly, until his knee played up), Barassi, Oliver and I have to add a sixth: Wight.
  15. Bingers, youโ€™ve got it half right -you are right about the 720 degrees but THEN he handed - not hand balled- the ball to Selwood: goal.
  16. I donโ€™t understand the theory about keeping them guessing. if the opposition finds out at the last minute that a player is out and being replaced by a lesser player, how does that help us? It would surely lift their morale. And if the injured player is being replaced by a better player: wouldnโ€™t that happen anyway, regardless of the injury.
  17. How crap is the MFC website!? Burgo gives the injury report, quite obviously wasnโ€™t going to talk about Harmes until word got out and then they inserted a section which talks about him. Typical of the website โ€“ keep the supporters completely in the dark if they possibly can.
  18. Some people in this thread think heโ€™s not in our top five players. Heโ€™s actually come in the top 10 in the coaches award twice. By my reckoning, that puts him in at least the top 20 players in the league. IMH0 he is the best inside mid weโ€™ve had since Barassi. We have to keep him.
  19. Well, I was at the game, and there are certainly were a lot of mistakes. But it seemed to me that they are trying out a new game plan around the midfield: trying to hold the ball a bit longer and work really hard to get it outside. Itโ€™s not completely working yet and I think thatโ€™s why we got beaten up the clearances, but it might be a good plan in the long term. Absolutely great to see Jetta back in formed and as everyone has commented, May and Lever were unbelievable. But so many whingers: do you actually barrack for this team or not?
  20. Well, Lever is certainly playing like the player we hoped he would be!
  21. If they were smart they would use Daisy Pearce more. IMHO One of the most perceptive commentators Iโ€™ve heard.
  22. IIRC, 2 Brownlow votes in his first game. My Demonland name says what I think.
  23. The really bad thing about this rule change and all rule changes is the AFL never never never never NEVER admits they got it wrong - eg nominating a ruckman.
  24. Neither does Ben Brown but he isnโ€™t on the list.
  25. In the media reports, Daisy Pearce is not amongst our best players. Ridiculous! Looks like, like Robbie flower, she will be the victim of expectations that she will play like a champion each week so when she does, it is not even noticed.
