  1. How old are you.? What year were you born.?
  2. Oh no. Why make even more new rules, instead of simply back pedaling to somewhere more familiar.
  3. Uninjured does not mean not ready. Condition might be uninjured; but also can be he doesn't have the fitness, endurance, and also the disciplines. He didn't set the game on alight.
  4. Has the size and likely availability, but i can't say i have seen him play much. That parts the clubs duty and responsibility. I am one of those who has turned the TV footy off, over the past 6 or 7 years. So I have to ask others to get their impressions. But you can see my hope for a certain type of heavy power-forward, of at least 197cms+. And not more than 203cms ideally.
  5. Move sideways off the line and its play on. If the ball is fully over the boundary line, it must be out of bounds.? And as you say, should then be the umpires ball to throw in.
  6. Its really simple to fix this 'PSotG'. Unwind/remove that stinking Bandage that's been applied, to the wound that wasn't; since back around early 1990's... the putrid bandage/dressing is infected by years of mal-treatment and neglect, due to un-qualified practitioners, thinking they knew what's good for us all. Pull that bandage off the wound, and let natures agents heal the game.
  7. I don't see any beanpole rucks in that lot. There are some tall players but not really beanpole. Sandilands escapes this because of his heavy set build. So can move others aside. What i'm talking about is a 'power to height' ratio. Or the lacking of, in beanpoles. I wouldn't go after a ruck with Sandilands size, because he is too big for agility and to get about well enough. I guess my model of mix of all good attributes is Grundy. But he is a genuine 1st ruck. What i'm getting at is a hybrid ruck/power-forward. So while we have a 1st ruck, this model gives us the ideal assistant tall. But must be all out aggression.
  8. Interestingly, I think it was TMc who sounded the death-nell on Hogan. I reckon when Tmc was playing so well at CHF, and playing high half-forward, he took that position off Jesse. So Hogan played deep, and wasn't a jumper at the ball really. He needs some run to it, to time his launch. I think this made it tough for Hogan, who might have gotten down on himself.?
  9. Yes, but Prueuss is an insurance policy, against injury to Max. We need a Top-line old fashioned ruck, who does his best work around the ground marking plenty, and feed off to running players. If we have this player then our smaller players will learn to expect they will get the hand off and they can be away with the footy. Run breaks up set defences. And change of direction run changes it more. We ought be looking at Wright, and for a a young aggressive kid who is a special mark, with great hands, to learn this role. To follow thru from Bradtke. Or beside him. Now, do we have trades available. Who would you consider trading, out of our mature tall players, who carry value to other teams.?
  10. Many of the best bash-crash effective ruckmen, are just heavy set and 196/198Cms, which allows then to be heavy and mobile as well. So more weight/power is packed into every 10Cms of height, than the Giraffes. These guys can flatten or push packs aside. And up forward the same, they can impact the contest taking that big grab, or by aiding the full forward to get the grab. Its what we lack is the symbiosis between teammates. Same in the middle, with our on-ballers, they all seem to play as individuals too much, instead, not enough screening, blocking, shepherding. A lack of this going on, amongst the Egos in there. So Max's forte` of hit-outs, is not being utilised to our benefit.
  11. Your right he left early in his last season because the Saints were not coming to his table with a fresh contract; and he had some financial losses, he grabbed the Freo wad of cash and ran west early.
  12. We don't need all the neat athletes. Sometimes we need the hefty ones. To give us diversity. I would prefer CKeating over Max Gawn. And forget the stats. One IS the Grand-Final specialist and the other is a great basketball centre. Strong marks and crashing packs are most important for the Big men. Aggro... And to ensure the opposing ruck does not get off his leash. All the athlete rucks we've had are useless for premierships. They look great and gives a feel-good for their graceful methods. White or Steven King of the Cats. Steven King better and most effective. Now Stynes had some aggression, and he would move thru packs and would jump into packs. Steve O'Dwyer had plenty of aggression, and was a good contested mark. Again I cannot remember him smashing packs apart, because of the giraffe legs IMO. So this brings us back to PWright. Who is in the seconds I think. As a potential eventual replacement for TMc. So a combo of Wright and Weide with help from Jackson looking ahead. Weide the forward who can ruck. Wright the power forward who can ruck. Jackson the athletic ruck/follower who can be a forward. This setup would go with our developing small forwards. Please, no more bean pole ruckmen, Mfc recruiters. We want/need big aggression in our big men.
  13. I do. Because the letters are too close together to see clearly. So I assume others might struggle with this as well. So it's done in a helping way, for those less fortunate than petty others.
  14. Pity, we shouldn't have to do that.
  15. Let's hope that Ch-7 put it on live, on Ch-Mate.
  16. He's not a very good pack mark, imo. He gets moved off balance fairly easily, and doesn't get much jump at it. This is the problem of kicking to large packs. Weide struggles in them as well. Finding a way thru Clark Keating would just crash thru them to get the ball, with total strength and aggression. If he failed to get to the ball he would have hurt someone, who would think thrice next time. This in part is why I want a tall power-house forward; heavy build like PWright. Who by the way, doesn't seem to be getting much of a go.
  17. You can tall all of this, after 3 or 4 games. You should be Coa ching, 'od'.
  18. Agree, 'LT'. But revert first; back to 1990 rules and laws of the game. Undoing all those bloody confusing rules, and return the game back to the one where people understood, what was happening. Then leave it alone. This would encompass the smaller interchange bench, less players. for starters.
  19. There's another important point. The NRL commentators, are genuinely enjoying the game they are commenting. Their joy and excitement is genuine; and not acted like some cheap Hollywood wannabe performer. AFL commentators want to dissect every blooody play, It's like pulling wings off insects, just to see inside. So they can exhibit they're own cleverness. I think they just like talking down to the, (as they say) unwashed. It feels condescending, self-centred, and frustrating.
  20. Why, you don't think we can shut them down and rebound on them. And Win.
  21. That is a poor footy attitude, that smacks of lesser standards. Not honoring teammates leads or work to present, is just atrocious. Lockhart one another ball on the opposite side of the ground during the game, and threaded the needle long to a teammate in the pocket, on the boundary. A beautiful weighted and directed kick, which we took.
  22. I agree Hell Bent. I have adopted Mel-Stormers as my other team. And watch them when ever I can. Of the product watch-ability; I think for me its become, in NRL's case, It's more Listenable. Last night I noticed that I could here the sounds of the stadium, & the ball being kicked and I was enjoying it, and at the same time I noticed that the commentary paused for moments, between calls of the game... moments of commentary silence. This is the big thing for me; that the NRL commentary is Not it's own Wall of Sound. The AFL commentators by comparison, are quicker than the modern game was trying to become. 'remember speeding the game up'. Machine Gun commentary is turning me right off. Are the commentators being payed by the word.? Shut the F()@k Up Ch7 commentators, take a breath, take 5 breaths, and let the game be the show. STOP being a constant, live, Special Comments commentary. You guys are talking, 'AT US'.... You have lost the art of talking, TO US... with us and give us time to think. Stop talking so much, commentators.
  23. Why don't you type the words p***master.? too lazy.? And you then lash out at others, for a simple spelling error. get your priorities in order. .... drop and spell hypocrite for me, 10 times .
  24. And who then is responsible for flying overseas returning citizens home, directly into Melbourne for quarantining, dl4e.? maybe SloMow.? 'right', and as such, who is responsible for most outbreaks in Sydney originally; and in Nth Tasmania, dl4e.? Via Ruby Princess... after that ship was refused entry into New Zealand. Maybe the CoAttrition government.? hmmn.
  25. MfcSS Because of this stuff we have to build up in stages; not so long ago we as a team/club would fold under slight pressure. Its like a train taking passengers to the city. Each station is a progression, and these mature players help us grow steadier, and grow belief with that as we go. This doesn't happen across a team just with newbie kids, unless they are a Judd or similar. So 'May' is another station we pass, on our way closer to the destination. The selectors and footy dept are definitely changing the way we select now this 2020, and are putting the bar higher for everyone. Cameo skills are not enough any longer for this team, and Everyone has to now be responsible in all areas on-field. That is how I see it now. Also this year sees clubs going for speed/agility more widely. With less height up front. I reckon, we had this planned from mid last season and is why we went after Jackson. I now think we had him and Pickett targeted early, as part of a new strategic concept.
