Who replaces him?
-
I’m not feeling it today, the Blues have that intangible quality atm that drives teams to win. Funnily enough I think we’d go much better against the Bears than they would. This is a game we really wanted no part of.
-
We’re hardly on the decline, we’ve got a great list with plenty of youngsters, amazing draft picks and Shane McAdam in the way. Plenty to be excited about.
-
Can we not turn this into another Maynard discussion. One of the reasons I posted it was to get away from Maynard.

So the game will need to continue to adapt to avoid head traumas to players. A rule change to stop the Brayshaw incident is likely in the off season. How does the AFL intend to deal with such a case without looking at the incidents of high marks causing head trauma. I realise they are 2 distinct cases and not related except in their ability to cause injury. How can the AFL say and make rules to stop concussions in tackles, bumps and smothers but leave open the ability to cause concussion when going for a mark? Whilst I understand there is inherent risk in playing, player welfare is rightfully being taken very seriously. In fact I’d say the AFL are about 10 years behind on this but that’s unsurprising. The high mark is a beautiful feature of our game so what needs to be done to firstly keep it and secondly try and make it safe? For me it feels almost impossible to legislate all concussions out of the game considering the way the game is played. Is the high mark seen as the same as any 2 or more players competing directly for the ball where an injury may happen incidentally? Are coaches going to train defenders to avoid putting themselves at risk by not backing into packs? Do forwards need to almost “be careful” when jumping for the ball? Do we simply play a sport that is inherently dangerous and thus not only do we need to keep making it safer but we also need to invest heavily in player welfare and past player welfare? Will we get to a point where a player with X number of concussions is no longer allowed to play the game and the club receives a draft pick to replace the player. Is concussion protocol going to be extended to 4 weeks? Over to you guys……

Yes

Smashed it

He’s actually pretty good as a mid.
-
I’m liking your style
-
Remember we covered Oliver for 10 weeks, we should be able to cover Brayshaw.
-
Hyperbole. We’ve got great picks in this draft for Jackson and if Petty, Melksham and Brayshaw were fit we’d be in the Prelim as flag favourites.
-
Mate I smashed them last weekend. It was tough but I really stood up…..until I didn’t!
-
No he's been named in the 22
-
That's the kind of laughable stuff you get from ex players.
-
I like the changes. fast deck.....Who's the sub?
-
King discussed playing him forward and I actually agree. With Rivers and Bowey coming on his sweet touch kicking could be a weapon in the forward half. It'd also unsettle Carlton, who likely have an eye on a soft tag. The thing is does our needing to stick to structures preclude him moving.

It's fine, you can do as you please.

IN SYDNEY I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm yelling a response because you usually yell the Question.
-
They better not pass it on to us before we take on Brisbane.
-
Here we go, the football supporters week Post Loss....We're doomed, our flag was a fluke, Blues will smash us Tuesday.....Tomlinson in, Jordan in, Goodwin presser felt upbeat Thursday....Back in town Baby, Blues are doomed, we are clearly the better side Well at least that's how my week has gone so far :)
-
Very happy to be proven wrong and hope you're spot on in your assessment.
-
I’d be disappointed if we have him a 2 year extension. I’d delist him, keep at the club to get his knee right and go from there.
-
As I’ve already said Hibberd is needed against Cameron and Elliot the next 2 weeks and can’t play 4 games in a row on his Achilles.
-
Maynard must get at least four weeks
Roost it far replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Rule Change (not sure how the AFL have managed to not have such a rule already considering the NRL’s position) ”If a player leaves the ground while moving toward another player the onus is on him to ensure he avoids any high contact.”
