I imagine Petty will largely play back barring an injury to a tall forward. I think last year showed that having him in the ruck is diabolically bad. I doubt we’ll experiment with that again.

Do we need another inside mid right now? Can George become best 22 in the next 2-3 years? Who else is available? Where do we see our list holes and overall profile? Will Culley hold a best 22 spot for 5-10 years? Is Kentfield worth persisting with? The club will answer these questions and my hunch is George will get the spot.

Ridiculous, if you buy an old car with some potential and you’re a great mechanic then of course you take the punt. Our fitness people had him on the verge of fulfilling his talent. His injury is a cruel blow for a kid who’s apparently worked his backside off to give himself the best chance at success. Yes he’s likely a bust in the cruel light of day but pick 28 rarely gets you a 200 game player. The club will help him recover and he’ll likely be delisted and we’ll move on. He won’t be the last pick in the late 20’s to play very few games. Ranting about wasteful picks is hyperbole.

I’m not saying you’re wrong as I don’t know but the magic of intuitive indigenous players has me a George fan.

Unless the picks/players match there’s no way I’m letting him go. He wants to go to Darwin, has family in WA and SA. He stays if I’m the head of football….which just quietly I should be. I think Richo is an amateur.

We need to bank early wins if we’re going to threaten. McAdam was the obvious Koz replacement and McVee is a big loss. Just imagine an injury to a Lever or Petty and it’s a tight rope from there.

It’s X factor of George for me. I’d be popping Kentfield on the LTI and taking both. Kentfield is such a long shot anyway

I’m not convinced we need another big bodied mid. If George is committed to a 10 year career he’d be my pick.

If he’s done his Achilles his season is over. There’s our LTI. I thought George was next in line but some are saying Culley. Personally I can’t see how a WCE reject jumps ahead but time will tell.
