  1. For mine the fitness of Spargo, who I rate, will be something to watch. I’m pretty sure the FD want him in the side as soon as he’s ready. That is probably after 2-3 games at Casey to get his touch but if we can’t play Windsor in the opening rounds, if Henderson isn’t ready and the form of Billing’s and Laurie is less than positive I suspect he’ll play earlier, perhaps even week 1.
  2. May, Lever, Petty, Howes, Salem and Windsor with Bowey on the bench.
  3. Yep, I missed the 7th defender so I guess Bowey goes to the bench to take that spot, Billing’s plays on the wing which worries me. Henderson becomes sub (that’s a total guess as I’ve no idea other than a hunch as that’s why he was put on the list and Laurie gets a guernsey if Spargo doesn’t play
  4. Sure but such games are played at training level intensity
  5. I think Johnson has to play as we may well need 3 talks in attack plus some non JVR back up for Max. Langdon starts on the wing but gets to rotate through the middle as Sparrow can cover. Spargo plays if he’s properly fit which must be questionable. I’m putting Henderson on the bench as I suspect he’s ready to roll. I’d much prefer McVee over Howes atm and I have concerns over Salems ability to play a whole season. Langford appears the perfect Petracca rotation and I’ve got Laurie as sub as he needs to be rewarded for a strong preseason. B: Howes May Lever HB: Salem Petty Windsor C: Sharp Oliver Langdon HF: Petracca Turner Spargo/Bowey F: Chandler JVR Fritsch R: Gawn Viney Rivers I: Johnson Sparrow Langford Henderson S: Laurie
  6. Wow so he’s our pick?
  7. I’d love to see the indigenous allstars V The AA team minus its indigenous players.
  8. Are you close friends with him?
  9. Told you that he knows more or that he’s committed money to the project?
  10. Cranky doesn’t like common sense, it hinders his overt negativity
  11. Oh my, looks like he’s staying
  12. If I’m a wealthy supporter I’m only offering money if I know more than the public about the status of the project.
  13. If they’ve started fundraising they must be relatively confident of getting the project the required go ahead.
  14. I don’t think anyone can suggest the players aren’t on a great wicket. Play the game you love, get payed very well to do it. On the downside don’t get fat, Injure yourself in the off season or do drugs in public. Anyone having sympathy for these guys because the club “owns them” needs to take a look around at how most people earn a living. Sheesh!
  15. Spargo didn’t want the surgery he was recommended before last season. Playing around 0 made no difference to his injury. He still waited months before going under the knife in the hope his Achilles would improve. It was largely his decision to try and avoid surgery. He’s now had it and the recovery is slow.
  16. Blues have offered TDK about a mill a year. Let’s get the cheque book out. He’s exactly the player we need and to get him from the Blues would be golden.
  17. I’d take him everyday of the week but he’s probably going to Freo
  18. Indeed, we’re all hoping to see improvements in that front this season.
  19. I think Johnson could just as easily play close to goal to help bring ball to ground from the more rushed forward entries. He could go alright with a mix of Pickett, Chandler, Spargo at his feet.
  20. For mine that’s like choosing vanilla over chocolate
  21. What’s the cut off date for putting players on the LTI?
  22. Thats 5 examples in 5 years, so we’re averaging one mistake with an injured player per year. Now let’s look at each case. Spargo was determined not to have surgery on his Achilles and play the season. In mine and the clubs eyes he’s best 22 so he played. It did absolutely no further damage to his existing injury, none . So now we’re down to 4 in 5 years. To claim Oliver was mishandled without knowing what the club did with regard to his injury and state of mind is erroneous. Not to mention he was basically best on ground in round 1 so that kinda puts a hole in your theory. So we’re down to 3 in 5. That’s so low that I can’t even be bothered explaining the rest.
  23. With Kozzie and ANB missing I think Spargo will be very close to getting the nod in Round 1. If he’s fit then what he’s going to need is 10-12 matches to get his game back. For mine he’s best 22. love him forward of centre with ball in hand. I don’t have stats but I reckon this scenario ends up in a shot on goal in a good percentage of instances. He uses the ball well, is smart and if there’s some pace on the ball and he’s kicking it to a leading target then we’re in for half a dozen score assists every week.
  24. Fritsch JVR Spargo/Sparrow Langford/Trac Turner Johnson/Chandler I am hoping that Kynan Brown, AMW, even Laurie all get a hit out forward this year. Jefferson remains the possible wildcard. I’m assuming he’ll play against North. He’s going to have to a good day out.
