There was 5 easy goals left on the table in the first quarter. We bumbled going inside fifty time and again. Then late in the second we were 2 goals down and got opened up in the middle. That’s the game right there. Our experienced players got smashed. That’s on them. I’m still a believer but we need a lot more from our leaders. Play Petracca, Langford, Lindsay and Windsor in the middle, put Viney forward and see what happens. It couldn’t be worse than what we saw the last 2 weeks. Leave Langdon on the wing.

The next 6-8 weeks will tell a lot about the leaders at this club. Do they want to drag this group forward or are they going to leave it to our young guns.

We keep our current list minus retirees. We add White, Silema?? and trade up to add a top 10 pick. We replace the coach, Richardson and whoever else is deemed dead wood. We reset and go again. Our list is good enough, our mindset looks shot.

I don’t think trading out our best players is the answer. Keep drafting, chop the deadwood, get a new coach. Trading JVR, Rivers, McVee is going backwards. A new coach will want the best players secured. The chances of trading Petracca or Oliver or both is pretty slim in my book. Viney isn’t the issue the lack of cohesion is the problem

I don’t think it’s a player issue, I think it’s just time for a new set of eyes. We have talent on the list. Goodwin likely goes at some point in the second half of the season unless we pull it together.

This game could well become an embarrassment.

Apparently football has little if anything ti do with love, in fact I’ll go as far as saying it has nothing to do with love. As far as I can see we play the way we train, soccer balls, laughter, a few hugs and away we go. In all seriousness we are alarmingly bad atm. Goodwin has probably got 6 weeks left as coach. Richardson can go now. I was extremely confident preseason so I’m feeling a little let down. Langford looked good, jeez I hope Lindsay is ok. Viney is done by the looks of it and 4 years on a new contract, oh boy wow wee! Petty has gone backwards but worst is our clearance game, we’re getting smashed.

I think we’d be playing the same 21 with potentially/maybe a couple of difference’s. Once May, Pickett and McVee are back I doubt they’d be any, maybe 1 tops.

Maybe regarding Max. Not all teams play with a dominant ruck but clearly North do. GWS had Briggs out and we almost beat them so clearly some clubs are going with a big, strong ruckman. The thing about Sunday was that Max wasn’t just beaten he was flogged, I thought his second efforts were very poor and countless times Xerri got him at these efforts, that’s on Max. Regarding playing beyond Max, clearly that’s a hole we have to fill but I’m a believer in continuing to add mids and recruiting another clubs second or third ruck ala Meek at Hawthorn. I’m confident the club will do that when Max announces his retirement. We’ve got a strong under 24 list demographic. Yes we want to push for success whilst Petracca, Oliver and lever are still playing but those guys have got 3-4 more good years. Let’s keep recruiting how we have been and there’s no reason success won’t follow. For mine you now to stack your list with 12-14 really solid runners/mids/flankers who can kick. We’re on our way here in my opinion. I also believe that had we had Pickett, May and McVee available we may well be 2-0, we certainly wouldn’t be 0-2. It ain’t time to panic but we do need a win this weekend which is going to be tough.

That has got to be the biggest non story of the year thus far. There’s no rush, we have Pert working away at Caulfield and a solid interim CEO. I’d much prefer we take time than rush an appointment to appease these clowns. Wow wee, the football media is a total clown show.
