I just don't see what the deadlines achieve. So we lose a player to an ACL on Saturday but can't replace him until mid season but if he'd done it on Friday morning we could replace him that day. These sorts of rules feel like rules for rules sake. The lists are smaller these days and as long as the injury can be verified as a 9 month + injury I don't see the need to create deadlines. A more fluid approach has multiple advantages for both the team and young players.
  2. If Chaplin can line up the backs and the forwards we're going to be a lot better side. The trick is to maintain our defence and contest behind the ball and but add some pace when attacking. What we can't have is May caught 30m from his man when we turn it over kicking into F50. That will not only bleed goals it'll bleed confidence. I'm hoping Chaplin is just applying a few attacking tweaks (McVee is a huge loss) What I want to see is us hunting teams like Hawthorn and Collingwood so the pressure is rampant on their runners. Force the turnover and then move it quickly into attack. I hope we're fit enough.
  3. Fluff
  4. Port need to stand by Ken for the full season regardless of results. I think it’s smart play. They move Ken on who’s clearly had his opportunity and they get to quell the noise if Port struggle this year. ā€œWe have a succession plan in place and we’re standing by Ken until his contract is upā€

The VFL is a poorly run secondary comp. If they lose a player they can grab another from the lower leagues. With 19-20 teams on the way the more kids given an opportunity the better, for them and the senior competition. As it stands there’s 2 opportunities to grab them anyway.

I think a worthwhile rule change for the AFL and clubs to look at would be the ability to add a player to the LTI (min 9 months out with verified injury) at anytime during the season. This opens up the potential for any VFL player to end up on an AFL list during the season. I'd imagine there's enough kids knocking at the door of the AFL to make this work. By the sounds of it Culley is unlucky and it gives guys like George an added incentive to keep pushing hard.
  7. I’ll run rings around you lot.
  8. He’s at Jeffo’s house running him through a few drills for Saturday
  9. Not to state the obvious but how good does the kid look in that jumper
  10. Not only will I tell you what to do I’ll write a comprehensive report on it.
  11. Don’t you start giving me lip Chief.
  12. My report will set a new standard in reporting. In fact my report’s reporting will set the standard for all future reports.
  13. I’m aiming to get down prior to the season commencing. I’m really being forced to to be honest.
  14. The situation is getting way out of hand. Sporadic reports, late reports, almost no reports, not to mention the state of some of the reports when they finally arrive. It’s 2.47, any report this late had better be very good. I’m sick of needing to point out the basics.
  15. And restreamed it on delay….twice
  16. Just tells us the wrong start time
  17. Calmly and methodically??? Like not notifying supporters of a change in start time of a preseason game even days after the time had changed. The website’s long been a joke.
  18. Looks like just the McAdam change to our list.

You should lose your membership for simply having Collingwood supporters you call mates.
  20. Is the setting aside of number 34 a gentle wink to supporters that Kalani has chosen the Dee’s? To be honest the GC will struggle to get him with their other academy picks looking more advanced. If he were to choose GC at this point I think we should hold a sit in at Jeff’s house.
  21. To say we were never winning that final is untrue. 2 straight kicks from Fritsch and McDonald and we win. Not to mention the countless blind kicks into F 50. We dominated them from that point on. I’ll agree with the Schache decision. I’ll also add that that was one of the most ill disciplined games I’ve seen from this team. It was a terrible night at the footy. Stuff of nightmares. For mine wins over Collingwood and Carlton are absolutely essential this season.
  22. We’ve got potential small forwards in Pickett, Chandler, Spargo, Sharp, AMW, Henderson and perhaps even Brown, Billing’s and Laurie. The inclusion of Langford means we’ve now got an obvious Tracc rotation so taking it we’ll play 3 talls and Pickett will return in round 4 it’s highly likely Chandler will get the nod. Then there’s Langdon who could be earmarked for ANB’s role. That leaves Sharp and Billibgs on a wing, Spargo on the bench, AMW, Henderson, Laurie and Brown at Casey. Of those I think Laurie, AMW and Henderson appear closest to seniors with Brown further back. The question is who’s taking Pickett’s spot in the first 3 weeks?
  23. For mine the fitness of Spargo, who I rate, will be something to watch. I’m pretty sure the FD want him in the side as soon as he’s ready. That is probably after 2-3 games at Casey to get his touch but if we can’t play Windsor in the opening rounds, if Henderson isn’t ready and the form of Billing’s and Laurie is less than positive I suspect he’ll play earlier, perhaps even week 1.
  24. May, Lever, Petty, Howes, Salem and Windsor with Bowey on the bench.
