We didn't run out of gas, we wet the bed against Collingwood and gifted Carlton a shot through poor discipline and burning team mates. -

Wouldn’t another player in the mould of Aaron Davey just make us all feel better about the complete schemozzle we made of the finals last year. Chances that good don’t come around often. -

If Collingwood or any other club for that matter had our record over the last 2 seasons and the off field issues to boot we’d call them a rabble with a poor culture. Sure we’d be exaggerating for our own enjoyment but that’s the words we’d use. The fact is we’ve folded when it really matters. Clubs know it and the Pies exploited it in the QF. Carlton didn’t need to exploit it, we handed them the win with our worst team game in years. I don’t care about the margins, we lost a gilt edged opportunity to win a flag. That pisses me off and the club as a whole is not at the level it needs to be to win the flag. I’m an optimist when it comes to the Dee’s, always have been but the end of last year showed there’s plenty to be done. -

Yes I added mayo but I don’t shy away from how bad we were that night no matter the final margin. We were so clearly the better side yet we handed them the win from our lack of disciplined, team first football. The very same standards we hear the club go on and on about……there’s currently more talking than walking imo. -

Rewatch the Carlton Final. For a club that talks culture at every opportunity It’s a complete train wreck, pure and simple…… -

That’s one way of looking at it. We also lost the QF because we were physically challenged early and we took time to find our game. We then watched as player after player choked in front of goal…. Then we lost against Carlton because we were horrendously undisciplined, burnt our team mates and failed to put away a weaker opponent…… Then we have the off field issues which we can’t and don’t need to discuss as we all have seen it play out. Sorry that you think it’s unreasonable of me to think that all is not rosy. Our last game against Carlton was not played by a club in good shape. -

Well it’s not like we don’t have some cultural issues. 2 years running straight sets, Oliver, Joel Smith and the rest of what’s going on. We deserve the blowtorch and we’re going to get it. I say bring it and see if this group can take another step or slide into mediocrity. It’s 50-50 at best as we sit, at least that’s my opinion. List wise we should be winning or losing Flags not semi finals. Fix it!! -

We always set up the decks on the kitchen bench. -
We’ll beat Port and get smashed by Adelaide
-
That’s a good draw for us. How do we not win the flag from here? 😂😜🤦♂️

And share with you my deep love of Charlie Spargo

Are we putting Oliver back on the market?……….too soon?

I doubt Petty has anything to do with it. I’m presuming they’re in talks with a key forward from somewhere.
-
Melbourne have said they won’t trade him, he’s contracted, the salary cap is going up, he puts together a good year next year he’ll get offered plenty to stay.
-
No 💩 Sherlock
-
If Essendon pay McKay $800 the Petty should be on $1.6M
-
I can’t disagree that I’d love to see more space forward of the ball 👍
-
I mentioned Turner forward for 2 reasons. The first simply because he apparently trained forward and the second, as a backup to allow Petty to play back if needed. I didn’t mention JVR because he’s just tracking beautifully as it is.

That goes against how we play. Everyone is lauding the Pies for their “positive” football but in my reality they were the Steven Bradbury of the finals. I like our defensive mindset, it’s tough and uncompromising. I’m certainly in agreement that we need some outside polish and a key forward but I don’t see us making huge changes to a game plan that stacks up against the best. Now Jimmy Gadson my friend, I know you want to out Collingwood Collingwood next year but I just don’t see that happening. Put a fit Petty in there, get Turner to train forward over the preseason, Joel Smith to have an uninterrupted preseason, Fritsch to remain fit, McAdam to have the kind of preseason that has him cherry ripe. Add to that the hoped improvement of Woewodin, Howes and Laurie, a top 5 draft pick and boy oh boy is 24 going to be one sweet ride.

100% of the time we'd win 7 out of 10 times.
