Christian Salem Re-Signs for 5 Years
We're missing the winning premierships bit (we live in hope), but yeah, things are running smoothly at the moment.

My Round 4 Preview and Prediction
They do so the key is to bring the ball to ground and let Kossie, Spargo and Nibbler do the rest. We did it pretty well against the Giants so hopefully we can replicate against the cats.

The Tragic Story of Rod Owen
So how do we get beyond that? The notion that accusers should always be believed won't cut it. People lie all the time. Whats to stop someone emerging from your past to make a false accusation. What defence would you use in such a scenario. There has to be corroborating evidence. I have no idea what the the answer is by the way

AFLW: PF vs Adelaide
It would be fantastic. Now I’m feeling very conflicted. I’ll have to cheer for the pies to beat the Lions. Very discombobulating.

The Tragic Story of Rod Owen
Why can't these people come forward and get him convicted then? I can understand the reticence back in the day. the Catholic church was a powerful institution so i can completely understand the fear of not being believed and the ostracisation that would follow. But not now. The church is very diminished. Plenty of priests have gone to prison. There has been a royal commission and the redress scheme is in place. They should come forward and provide the sworn evidence otherwise its just more tittle tattle.

Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
So it begins. I was hoping to keep a lid on it for a while longer yet.

SEN Announcer?
I reckon Deebrief and Demonland have me covered for the Dees but for quality insights for non-Dees related footy what would you recommend. I pretty much live on you tube consuming independent media and watching podcasts. The print media and traditional TV have had their day. The same faces, saying the same things. On the couch is the only show i watch on Kayo. AFL360 only when Dees are featured (e.g. Petracca last night). I don't know how normal, sentient begins can listen to Robbo. I rarely listen to the commentary. Over the top hyperbole. I listened to the GWS commentary and didn't mind it too much. AFLW commentary is usually very good although I see they've started to include [censored] heads like Will Schofield.

The 2021 All-Australian Team
Only seen Moore v Carlton and he let McKay off the chain. Very difficult to play intercept role and take the No.1 forward for the opposition. It's a tall order if that's what the coaching brains trust at collingwood expect from him. Lever has been pretty good so far. What the chances both May and Lever make the team? It would be some effort if they both managed it.

Free Kick Differential 2021
Hoping that free kick differential continues to head south for Geelong for at least 1 more week.

Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
Luck is a great quality to have. It's a big variable in the equation and doesn't get acknowledged enough. The random bounce of the ball, a dodgy umpire's call (hopefully we get a few in our favor against Geelong), facing teams with injury issues. I'll graciously accept any good fortune that falls our way. We got stitched last year with the schedule so we're due some.

Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
I'm glad Sydney are attracting all the media attention this week. Keeps the spotlight off us and lets us fly under the radar for a while longer yet. Beat Geelong and i reckon the media will sit up and start to pay more attention to us.

Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
The media aren't talking us up at all All the experts got burnt in 2019 so no chance they'll get carried away with the Dees just yet

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
We need to be smart and disciplined. Geelong are devious s**thouse rats, will milk frees and draw 50 metre penalties. Fly the flag in the contest but don't get involved in any silly stuff. If Kossie's marker is giving him a hard time then line him up in the tackle or contest

Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
I reckon the next 3 weeks will tell us a lot. Geelong are a streetwise outfit and are well coached. Can we out smart them? We have the talent to do it and i think we will Clarko is still the master. Will he ambush us and take advantage of our complacency. Richmond on Ansac eve. They have been the benchmark for a few years now. Can we withstand their pressure and impose ourselves on the game. It would be an upset if we pulled it off. We will need to kick straight. That is both finalists from last year plus Clarko's Hawk so should provide a real litmus test in terms of where we are at. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
Do you not think the fact we have been ordinary, as you put it, yet have still won our 3 games, is a big improvement in and of itself?

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
I'd pay him top dollar on a contract that takes him to free agency. Just get it over and done with. I prefer shorter contracts anyways. GWS and Collingwood have handicapped themselves because of ridiculous long term deals. If we are successful he'll re-sign thereafter. If we're not well he deserves a crack elsewhere.

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
I reckon the Bont is the only player i'd consider swapping him for. The Danger of 5 years ago perhaps. He's better than Cripps and Shuey. Not sure about Neale but for some reason opposition coaches allow him to roam free. Reckon Clayton and the team will figure out how to break the tag. Sending him forward on the weekend worked in terms of him winning free kicks and taking a couple of marks. If he sharpens up his goal kicking he'll go up another level.

Max Gawn RSN Interview (6/4/21)
He did say that TMac and BB weren't far behind. I remember that Adelaide game. The Weid should have kicked it.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I thought of that and I'm not sure tbh.

The 2021 All-Australian Team
Ah. Hadn't thought of Moore. Is he better than May though? McKay did kick 4 on him. Although having said that, Greene did kick a few on May at the weekend.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I still worry about his craft. He seems to misread the flight of the ball slightly quite a bit, runs under it a little and has to over-extend to fetch it. Or else the ball hits the tips of his fingers and doesn’t stick. He was great the first 2 weeks so deserves another go but he’ll struggle to keep his spot unless he consistently clunks those marks. It’ll tough again for him this week against the cats. Let’s see how he goes.

Max Gawn RSN Interview (6/4/21)
Max is a very well-spoken articulate bloke. Great interviewee Other than his comments on rucking some other interesting comments he made: He thinks Langdon is ahead in the B&F voting Reckons the HUB was great for bonding and relationship building amongst the group and credits it for fostering the maturity we are now starting to see. John Longmuir had similar positive comments and how his young team were able to bond in the HUB Reckons the Weid is the best bet at the club, 40 out straight in front with a kick after the siren
