Jordon doesn’t need to be a gun. We have plenty of top end talent as it is We need foot soldiers who will play the team role, defend, block, tackle, run both ways. If he does that he’ll be an asset for us.

Ask him what the base line expectations are this year in terms of ladder position and consequences for our head coach should expectations not be met.

I’m confident we will beat Freo because Walters is out and Taberner has been poor in the preseason games. I don’t know who will score for them. Defences will be on top but I think in Fritsch, Petracca and Max (reckon he’ll clunk a few inside 50 and convert) we will score 2-3 more goals than them.

We are definitely in the driving seat. I can’t see the Bulldogs making up the percentage and I reckon the manner of that loss to Freo will knock the stuffing out of Carlton so i don't see them winning both their games now. That said, I reckon we will beat the Lions at Casey and not need to rely on percentage.

Bloody Carlton are 10 points up against Freo heading into the last quarter. If they see this game out they have games against the suns and GWS to come. You’d favor them to win those them which would leave them on 6 wins. They sneak ahead of us after again having a much easier fixture (we’ll have played 3 of non-finalist teams whereas they’ll have played 5). Come on Freo!

She has no evasion skills or side-step, isn't speedy nor has she quick hands. when she gets the ball she is invariably tackled. She has the heart of a lion and is a tackling machine so i don't want to be too critical but over the past couple of games in particular my recollections of Lily are seeing her getting tackled. Pretty much every time. Very few clean disposals come to mind. If she figures out how to manoeuvre in traffic she'd be some player.

Max – sit the team down and look at the womens game against the crows last night. Best instructional video you will see demonstrating anger, intensity, application and attitude. That’s what I expect to see from the blokes against Freo.

Magnificent performance. Out fought a seasoned crows outfit. After the insipid performances against the doggies and the pies we’ve responded very well. Hats off to the players and the coaching staff. I’ve been critical of Stinear but he threw the pieces around and has come up with a winning formula. And as a bonus we got a percentage nudge as well. We have 35% over the bulldogs which will be difficult for them to make up. They are not a high scoring team and an improving Richmond will be no push over for them in the last round. The difference between our best and worst is a chasm and not sure how we’re going to go without a tall option in the forward line. But our confidence is up and we should fear no one from here. 6 pages in and no one has mentioned the proverbial bathwater. We do like to admire our own work at times. @Pates has given a great example of proper application and attitude during the Hawthorn final. Unfortunately we followed it up with an embarrassing prelim performance. Never fired a shot.

I think soft describes Rd23 2017 pretty well. How can a team turn up with a finals spot on the line, against an opponent with only pride to play for, and not lay a tackle? Nothing to do with skill, game plan or injuries and everything to do with mindset. Proper teams would never let it happen. The whole 2019 season was soft. We were absolutely pathetic from top to bottom. You can;t tell me it was just injuries and bad coaching (although these were factors, no question). We felt sorry for ourselves so put the cue in the rack. Soft as butter.
