  1. Any chance we could get the Suns to Melbourne tonight and play them at Marvel?
  2. i'm not discounting the hawks. they've been decent in patches this year (as we know only too well)
  3. tell's me they had a purple patch. they've been as inaccurate as us for most of the season
  4. I’m nervous Poor form, fly in fly out, the Suns showing some ticker recently. It will not be easy But if we kick 12 goals i think we’ll win. Step forward BB And I hope as many of our Queensland based brethren as possible can get along to the game to support the boys, and fingers crossed enjoy a Win
  5. Port, Swans and Lions all have difficult games this weekend. GWS and Essendon in the mix for the 8 so have everything to play for while the Hawks in Tassie won't be easy for the Lions and particularly post the Clarko announcement Us to win and those 3 teams to lose would make a perfect weekend. And the cherry on top would be North beating Geelong in Tassie. Very unlikely but you never know.
  6. And its not working out too well. Appointing the caretaker full-time is fraught with danger.
  7. Assistant coaches who make the step up are typically working with successful clubs when they are selected. Can't recall too many clubs taking assistants from Gold Coast or Carlton as their new head coach recently. Don;t think we've lost any assistants recently either. A few years ago Collingwood assistants were all the rage because of Malthouse. Assistant's who have worked with Clarkson ditto (including Yze). I'll bet if we are unsuccessful next year Yze's stock price will fall along with Goody's (I hope that doesn't happen of course)
  8. I think Hawthorn are crazy to be getting rid of a 4 time premiership coach. Madness to give him the elbow for a rookie. If he has a good list at his next club he will deliver a flag.
  9. We my lose them anyways. We can't stand in the way of Yze if a top job elsewhere becomes available and Choco seems to have a use by date at any one club. If we do decide to change the coach it'll be because of under performance and hard to see how Yze wouldn't be tainted along with Goody. Pure conjecture on my part of course For purely selfish purposes and keeping options open i hope Clarkson takes a year out
  10. I hope he takes a year off. That way if things don;t work out with Goody then we are an option for him (not a Goody bash, he has done well this year but he'll be 6 years in the job at the end of next year. I hope Goody does lead us to the promised land but some hard decisions may have to be made if no flag this year or next)
  11. He won't be out of work too long. I reckon he'll pitch up at the pies next season
  12. Could just be the natural ebb and flow of form over a season Reckon its due to fatigue caused by heavy training loads A moment of magic, a spark will re-ignite our season. One of Trac, Kossie, TMac perhaps could provide. Or BB clunk and kick 3-4 goals All is not lost. Perhaps the Suns will play us back into form this weekend
  13. Would have rested Dogga for the Weid Looking forward to seeing Bowey play his first senior game Best of luck young man
  14. I'm not keen on the travel aspect either and would prefer not to play in Darwin at all. The only reason to do so is financial But time away gives the group a chance to bond and perhaps re-energise and re-find some form away from Melbourne
  15. Our form at the G has hardly been inspiring recently. Perhaps getting out of Melbourne and playing in warmer climes might do us some good and inject some energy back into us Also the hub last year was credited as the catalyst for the game plan gelling. Could afford the opportunity to re-focus on roles and system. Steven May reckoned it helped the group bond as well Metricon to Darwin is manageable. The 3rd leg of the trip might be difficult but again they'll be staying in a resort in WA so hardly a major imposition We'll get some sun and have a chance to bond and re-focus so this could all work in our favor
  16. Reckon we should start complaining about the free ride the doggies get from the umps. We were shafted at the weekend.
  17. True. Big benefit though is not having to travel to Qld and then onto Perth for the WCE game. Reduces a lot of travel for us.
  18. It would be a big stroke of luck if we get to play GC at Marvel. Fingers crossed Queensland don't open their borders to Victoria
  19. To answer the OP most likely reasons will be: 1. Beaten by the better team on the day 2. We don't kick straight 3. We're injury depleted going into the game 4. Bad luck with ump calls / bounce of the ball etc.

Limping into finals in 5th or 6th spot is no good. We have to find some form somehow. The problem is all our opponents smell blood now. Every game will be a battle. Let's focus on one game at a time starting with the suns next week. Absolutely have to win that game.
  21. Isaac Smith would have made a big difference for us this year. Oh well
  22. There must be some logic to it. I'd love to know what it is. Serious question. Does anyone know?
