WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Adding a Coleman medalist is not a marginal gain. He'll be replacing TMac. Big upgrade imv. Move TMac on to free up some cap (easier said than done i know) Brown and Weid can absolutely play in the same forward line. I'm struggling to understand the logic for thinking they won;t we've drafted a 10 year player already. Luke Jackson. As a KP player in his second year i don;t want to see him overplayed and run into the ground. Which is another reason to bring in Brown. Leave LJ to play in the VFL and manage his games in the senior side. Let him develop in his own time. Our midfield can improve with better coaching which i hope will be addressed in the review. Kelly and Merrett are very good players but not game changers for us in the same way i think Brown can be.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
If the medical checks out then I see no reason why he canāt get back to his best. Pick 23 is a steal for a 28 year old Coleman medalist. If North want a bit more to get the trade done then give it to them. They badly need players so why not throw in OMac or another of our fringe players I hope he nominates us. I genuinely feel this could be a transformative trade. Iāll be absolutely stoked if it happens. Donāt stuff around with this MFC. Just get it done.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
Iād heard he liked to party but thatās hardly unusual. It didnāt seem to affect his performances but it sounds like there was more to it. Are you at liberty to divulge further details?

Assistant Coaches 2021
Voss sounds quite content at Port. Gives the impression his next move will be for a senior coach position. Pity. I was hoping he would join our coaching set-up. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/10/21/voss-responds-to-north-melbourne-coaching-speculation/

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
Surprised by the pessimism about Jesse here. He was an elite talent and can be again. Never any trouble for us other than he wanted to go home. Heās had a tough time at Freo. Got a serious injury early, too much time on his hands back in the home town, the club put no support structures around him by the sounds of it. Freo was the wrong club for him. He should never have went there. Jesse left home at 17, obviously missed his family and Perth, lost his dad who was a massive influence on him tragically, had a cancer scare himself. Could you blame him if he struggled mentally. Wouldnāt surprise me if heās still trying to process all that grief and loss. Heās had to deal with more by the age of 23 than most of us deal with in a lifetime. Surely with all the money swilling around the AFL there are resources and professionals available to help him straighten his head out.Get him focused again. If he doesnāt rejoin us I think the Swans would be a great fit. They have a strong culture and history of rehabilitating players. They'll give him the support he needs. He'll be out of the limelight as well in sydney. I'm certainly not prepared to write off his AFL career and wouldnāt be surprised if he blossomed there. Anyways I hope heās happy whatever he decides to do.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Fingers crossed

Brad Crouch
I'm not bothered by the saints at all. We picked the better freo player last year. We are better than them defensively, our midfield has a much higher ceiling and the addition of Brown will give us a more potent attacking threat. Crouch will get on like a house on fire with Carlisle and Hannebury i'm sure. peas in a pod.

Another great big Neeld era recruiting stuff up...
You seem to have a gift for recruitment. Please tell us the kids who will turn into stars from this years draft and who we should pick.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
I think a lot less will spark their interest. A 3rd rounder should be enough to get the conversation started.

We managed Jesse better when he was here.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
Freo have a poor record managing players. Doesnāt surprise me one bit that Jesse didnāt settle there.

Luke Jacksons best position for 2021
No need to rush him. Hopefully VFL back up and running so he can spend some time there with some games in the first team as well. Preferably third tall.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
Big difference between Hogan and Bennell. If Hogan is fit and the price is right then absolutely i'd have him back. My preference is Brown though.

Harsh. the other 17 clubs passed on him as well.

Jeremy Cameron
Youāre a chance. The Van Djik injury has blown the title race wide open. Its anyoneās so why not Everton. Ancelotti is an excellent manager, strong midfield and Calvert-lewin looks primed. My only concern is defensively. Very dodgy keeper.

Jeremy Cameron
I donāt care about Geelong and Cameron. To hell with them. Weāre in good shape but face a critical trade period. Get Brown and Smith. Move TMac on whatever which way we can and bring in Voss as midfield coach. Pay overs if needs be. The time is now.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
I donāt think thereās any mystery to it Axis. You donāt need to know contract specifics to understand human nature. Stands to reason that if you offer a lower chance of success you have to compensate with higher salary. Players ultimately want success or most of them do anyways (there are some mercenaries Iām sure) and will accept less salary to join a successful team. If we offered the exact same terms to a player who also had the option of Richmond who do you think theyād join? I think you know the answer. The Patriots in the US created the template for paying significant unders for talent. They had a brilliant coach and quarterback and were the nearest thing to guaranteed success around. They had players knocking on their door to join particularly players in the latter part of their career. https://www.sbnation.com/2016/3/14/11214640/patriots-contracts-tom-brady-julian-edelman-rob-gronkowski-malcolm-butler Geelong are probably the closest example in the AFL. Another example from the EPL a number of years ago was Man City. They were taken over and suddenly had money to burn. They had to pay through the nose for talent but within a few years they had bought their way to success. Once they had achieved success, and the revenues that flow from that, their wage rates then reverted to the average.

What wins finals?
Double chance. A good run with injuries. Good form and momentum coming into finals (although not as important since the extra week was introduced). A majority of the bad umpiring decisions to fall your way. Well drilled. Defensive structures hold up front to back. Win clearances and contested ball. Good delivery I50. A dominant key forward to kick the goals.
