IMO once a player wins a flag there's three different ways than can go: - Decide to stick around for more success - Decide to maximize their added value as a premiership player on the open market - Decide they've achieved that big thing they wanted to, and now it's about enjoyment (which could be playing with family, being close to family, moving somewhere more low profile etc.) None of us know which of those Gus is feeling let alone can we gleam anything from very very brief comments inserted into a short news story. (Not saying you're doing that btw, just seems to be a theme in this thread).

Makes sense mate. More just thinking out loud about how GWS will make decisions while they haven't even decided for sure who's gonna coach them. They're probably just lucky they're so irrelevant otherwise the noise would be huge IMO. I don't think we have a huge chance of getting Hill, but definitely think he's 100% gone from GWS new coach or not, because gut feel is a new coach coming in would want to 'clear the decks' and build that culture properly from players who are committed and genuinely want to be there.

Hard to know if they'd be more keen on picks, players, specific positions etc, as I don't think they even know for sure who'll be coaching them next year.

Nah, he's a winger mate. May have played some forward time early on, but has played the wing for a few years now.

Has the same career goal average as Ed Langdon. Could just be wingers don't kick many.

TBF, he only missed 1 Casey game while being sub all those games as far as I recall.

But they got you to watch didn't they? That's the era we're in currently, engagement is king. Doesn't matter whether it's positive or negative, it's all needed, analysed and monetized. Unfortunately, especially in the current climate, negative engagement is so much more powerful and easy. Instead of getting frustrated watching how it is, just vote with your feet - both on TV and online. Engagement data is the only thing that will actually change anything.
