  1. Just doesn't seem worth going around in circles with other Dees fans on the internet after today, so started thinking about this instead. OUT: T.Smith, Weid, Petty IN: Lewis, JKH, Preuss Time to tip the balance away from so many talls IMO. Still find it strange Goody is seemingly so obsessed with 3 talls at each end when we struggle so much for run, pressure and ground balls.
  2. Not a big fan of this particular one by Jesse, comes across as pretty immature, but as far as the bigger picture goes I am a fan of the growing calls for more accountability in footy media, with a few players going wack this year.
  3. We seem to be more keen on late changes this year compared to previous years under Goody. Do we think, given finals really are out of the question, Lewis may potentially get brought in for a farewell against his old mate?
  4. It's very form dependent, but as it stands right now I would, and I would also put him in ahead of Hannan in that regard. I think JKH ranks 3rd out of those 3 when all are in form, but Hannan has struggled since coming back in and ANB has struggled at senior level all year. They're all very close though, either (or both) of Hannan and ANB could have good games tomorrow and be back in front. How both of them perform for the rest of year could determine JKH's contract status rather than his own performances in my opinion.
  5. That's fantastic from JKH. Out of contract, not being given much of a go, others in his position at AFL level being allowed more chance to find form and he goes and shows the coaches what he can do in tough conditions. Sure, might not be a star, but that's a great response.

Not sure the Dockers have announced anything official time frame wise, only 'news' is Ross Lyon saying he'll be back this season, but that's not super convincing when he's basically being listed as TBC.

Wasn't sure where to put this, and not worth starting a thread for, but word coming through that the Dockers and Bennell have agreed to go their separate ways.

To be fair, Joel himself was quoted saying it was OP to supporters at a pre-game function earlier in the year.
  9. Whilst I very much agree that our lack of top end picks could hurt us in a the distant future, I also think that at some stage you have to stop looking to the future and look at the now and have a genuine crack at a flag.

Everything I've heard was that Jeff was very keen on Kobe being at the Dees eventually, so I'm not giving up hope just yet!

No one denied there wasn't any kind of problem, and I'm amazed (actually, I wish I was amazed) that people still refuse to believe media articles that don't suit their agenda, but then immediately jump into misquoting ones that they think fit with what they want to say. The article says: "Some of Marvel Stadium’s controversial crowd controllers are among hundreds..." Nowhere in the article does it say any of the following: 'All Marvel Stadium security personnel are new Australians' 'All Marvel Stadium security personnel are Indian students' And do you know why the articles doens't say that? Because it's not true, and because it is flat out racist to make assumptions like that based on an anecdotal glance across a TV screen. I understand that social media and forums etc have become places where people ditch understanding and nuance and just try to be as outrageous as they can within their limited character space, but let's grow up a bit hey.

Score review system will be back in the news this week.
  13. Weird that Oscar was named given the club said during the week he would play VFL this week. Hibberd for Wagner seems like it could be the only change, unless maybe C.Wagner replaces ANB? Or could Lewis come in for Petty and we go with just the two talls?
  14. Must have put the moz on him, Kent now out for the rest of the year (quad injury).
  15. I wasn't the one taking that position. I never said anything about Weid 'taking the comp by storm'. Again, slow down, take a second to understand what is being said, maybe even have a think about it, then compose your reply.
  16. Unfortunately not, just usually a dead giveaway if you see them getting super excited for someone on a Thursday so was hoping Kev might have been able to word us up.

Don't know exact specs other than he's apparently a "tall utility" type.
  18. Thanks @kev martin! By any chance did you spot anyone celebrating a debut for Dunkley?

Sounds like a bloke we're keeping an eye on. Don't know much about him personally, but an athletic and agile backman/utility with a "prodigious kick" sounds great to me. "EMERGING Noble Park defender Ariel “Dell’’ Lual has signed at VFL club Casey Demons. With half forward Cory Machaya out with a knee injury and on the long-term injured list, the Demons have placed the tall 20-year-old on their books ahead of the June 30 clearance cut-off." "The Sudanese-born Lual spent time at Norwood in the SANFL. Media reports suggest Port Adelaide had assessed him as a potential Category B recruit. Melbourne Next Generation Academy staff put his name up to the Casey Demons before the start of the season. But with the Demons’ list almost finalised they passed on Lual’s details to Noble Park, which was looking for a key defender to replace Ryan Morrison." Casey Demons sign on-the-rise Noble Park defender Ariek Lual

"Peak Demonland" seems to be more about lamenting our skill while simultaneously wanting everyone to be Jack Viney. We need skillful players on the outside, Petracca can be that, and he can also be fantastic at winning the ball at ground level. No need to turn him into yet another "bash n crash" type. We have more than enough of those.
  23. Read it properly. Understood it. Explained it to you. Your reaction says plenty.
  24. Born there, moved to Vic when quite young though.
  25. I believe he's talking age. Brown turned 22 at the end of 2014. In 2014, at the same age as Weid, Brown did kick 18 goals across 11 games. Probably wasn't worded well, but worth taking a second to think before trying to wack someone, I was able to understand it so I'm sure you could have if you tried.
