CHANGES 2022
That's not where he best serves us though. We have plenty of good half backs and Gus' turnovers (he ended up averaging the 2nd most for us for the year) hurt us more in the backline. We traded and recruited specifically to address scores from back half turnovers so I don't think you'll see Gus there next year. Was far more impactful for us as a team on the wing, and is a good clearance winner, so for mine his best role in contributing to the team is wing/mid.

CHANGES 2022
Looooong way out, but I reckon our 22 could look something like this by about mid-year in 2023. JVR and Howes are big watches for me next year. I reckon Howes might make it as a winger eventually, so that would mean Gus rotates around more when Trac goes forward. B: Lever, Petty, Rivers HB: Bowey, May, Salem C: Langdon, Petracca, Brayshaw HF: Neal-Bullen, McDonald, Pickett F: Fritsch, Grundy, van Rooyen FOLL: Gawn, Oliver, Viney IC: Spargo, Sparrow, Howes, Jordon

CASEY: PF vs Brisbane
- Farewell Luke Jackson
Just saying he wants an answer soon re: Rory Lobb (Western Bulldogs) and out-of-contract pair Blake Acres (Carlton) and Griffin Logue (North Melbourne) are all exploring their options and have been linked with Victorian clubs. Then: Longmuir was less willing to engage about the Dockers’ interest in Jackson, saying it was not “the right time to be talking about it”.- CASEY: PF vs Brisbane

It's on 7mate.- Trade and Free Agency rumours
- Trading draft picks
Just rumour, but what I've hear is that we'll be going a bit younger for the next 2 years. Partly to have more young talent coming through, partly to fit in around the contracts we've been getting done and need to get done in the next year or two. Would be pretty surprised if we traded away our picks for players. Might be some pick splits etc that become part of that, but outside of maybe 1 or 2 key targets I don't think we'll be huge players in the trade period in terms of bringing in players.- CHANGES 2022

Lots to it. We were cooked, selection maybe exacerbated it, game plan etc etc. Honestly think we'll be a lot better next year with improved fitness and luck with injuries. On to the trade and draft board we go...- GAMEDAY: SF vs Brisbane

Smith confirmed as sub.- In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
Yeah that's fair. I think we're all in agreement that there's some kind of 'fitness' issue there, but just differ on our guesses as to the cause and who has responsibility (and then how much). I just wouldn't be surprised from what we know about Goodwin's relationships with fitness and medical staff that there's a different dynamic between him and Griffith compared to what there was between him and Burgess.- In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
100% agree mate! It's absolutely an issue for us, I just differ on what I think is the cause of it. I'm not blaming Griffith, at least not without evidence it's his fault. - Farewell Luke Jackson
