  1. Jones back in apparently!
  2. Maybe, they might have already had a plan and wanted to stick to it. I'm not saying he's out this week, just reading into what Goody was saying about how they're managing him.
  3. Because they're still working him up to full match fitness and because they're wanting longevity so don't want to push him too hard too early. It's not a matter of 'injured or not injured', there's more to it than that.
  4. Not always mate...
  5. Goody seems obsessed with the big forward just 'bringing the ball to ground' it seems, doesn't seem to care much for actual marks or leads. Pretty frustrating for us, imagine what it's like for our key forwards. Could be Bennell out Brown in for sure if they do decide to manage him.
  6. Intraclub don't forget. Not injured, they're just still managing him up to full match fitness and see him as a long term player so not rushing it and 'managing expectations'. Nothing to worry about if he doesn't end up playing IMO.
  7. There's a pre-draft briefing experience with Mahoney and Taylor available that you'd think would be pretty tempting for a lot of fans.
  8. Judging from Goody's presser today, would say Jones won't be selected and Bennell no guarantee to be selected. Also, apparently our forward line make up is a "week to week" proposition. Geez would hate to try and get some 'connection' and consistency in the part of the ground that's our biggest weakness....
  9. Ok, good chat as always.
  10. I take it that is what Smith did whenever he was given instructions from the coaches about leaping into the contest

I'm pretty sure it's in both of the Goodes' docos, which are both very much worth watching. Edit - found a part of the transcript: McGuire: "Get Adam Goodes down for it do you reckon?" Darcy: "No I wouldn't have thought so, absolutely not." McGuire: "You can see them doing that can't you?" Darcy: "Who?" McGuire: "Goodsey." Darcy: "What's that?" McGuire: "You know with the ape thing, the whole thing, I'm just saying the pumping him up and mucking around and all that sort of stuff."

Actually, to his credit, Luke Darcy did not laugh or encourage it at all, he actually pulled him up on it instantly.

I was actually thinking of the Schwarz incident/s, which wasn't a club nickname either as far as I know.

Ohhhh actually, I think I may know now, just clicked.

Casey fields has today been set up with a drive-thru testing site. Not sure yet on if it directly impacts the oval itself, but this surely impacts our ability to train there? Edit - Update: The testing site is a few hundred meters away from the oval. Still, seems sketchy.

Don't think I know this story, would be keen to hear mate. If you think it's not good to share here feel free to PM.

My take on it is that it's been clearly more aimed at Collingwood, but Buckley's lies about the whole situation have thrust him to the front of the subject. From memory, almost all the comments I've seen from Lumumba have been at Collingwood and the only time he's epcifically mentioned Buckley is when Buckley had denied the whole thing (and was then caught out later).

Roosy has backed up Lumumba's account now too. Says a lot that even after so many adding their own accounts that Collingwood would need to 'investigate' them and have consistently used language that questions Lumumba's story.
  19. They really missed an opportunity of parading Langdon and Tomlinson around for the first time when also announcing the Red Bull sponsorship...
  20. Petty may turn out to be decent depth, he turns 21 this year so he has time on his side, but gee wiz if we're throwing around Petty and Smith as "best 22" then we're not going very far in the near future.
  21. From one of the reports about this: 'It’s also possible low levels of coronavirus in his previous tests, followed by a negative test, suggest McKenna was in the final stages of the virus." Not sure if this makes things better or worse tbh.
  22. Haha probably! I like him, I just think we picked that team for a possibly wet day and our forward line against Geelong would be better off with two talls. Toss up between him and vandenBerg, but thought vB's grunt might be handy after our second half clearance struggles against the Blues.
  23. Maybe Goody needs to tell TMac to stop 'bringing the ball to ground' and actually mark it? ?‍♂️ I still believe deep down that Weid and TMac is the combo we should be going for. TMac operates best when he has a mobile key forward with him who can roam up the ground and help spread the space IMO. Show Weid the same amount of patience as Goody has shown Brayshaw and TMac and it will help his confidence and trust issues, and at least then he can be judged fairly as a prospect for us going forward.
  24. Not to mention draft order, match payments, sponsorship agreements and more.
