  1. IMO it's structural work and skill work we need, not moving the pieces around. You can see what will happen, move May forward, then the backline (which has started to gel) becomes a weakness and we move him back, then the forward line... yadda yadda... If we're 'experimenting' just do this: 1) Put another key forward in the team. 2) Instruct midfielders that they're not allowed to kick the ball within 10m of goal when looking inside 50. We have players getting to space inside 50, but our mids continue to think it's better to deliver deep to a contest than 35-40 out to an open player.
  2. The Champion Data numbers were astounding. The Dees won 10 centre bounce clearances that yielded 0.1. They also won 35 ball-up and boundary throw-in clearances that yielded 0.0. Fox Footy Round 5 Talking Points
  3. Imagine having a coach who talks every week about connection and execution but then continually ignores skillful players in favour of blokes that just like to bang around. Scratch that, we don't have to imagine it.
  4. It's not all Lever's fault. What idiot would pick a similar role player to go up with him when what we need is a one on one defender. Oh that's right, the idiot who coaches us. OMac in for Smith, get back to the mix that works then start to judge Lever once he's playing the role he's meant to.
  5. OUT: Hunt, Melksham, Smith, Lockhart, vandenBerg, Rivers, T.McDonald IN: Bennell, ANB, O.McDonald, Jetta, Dunkley, Jones, Weideman
  6. Disagree that he's currently lazy. Watch the last few games again and specifically watch him, he's busting his gut trying to put pressure on. His disposal and decision making though, geez, would be close to our worst so far this year.
  7. And whose job is it to do that mate? The coach that made no changes & no moves.
  8. Smith, Lockhart, Melksham, TMac, vandenBerg all players many of us though should have been dropped over the past 2 weeks. All of them horrible today, But what would we know hey?
  9. Frost out, Smith in. Why bother? Same footballers.
  10. It may get there, but it's not exactly looking like 'wet slog' conditions so far. Not a lot of rain on the radar yet either.
  11. For mine, the only solution that sees coaches change how they control the game: Extra premiership point if the winning team scores over 100 points.
  12. We already aren't. Most of the media coverage I've seen has been about Richmond needing to find form again. We barely cling to relevance as it is and our listless performances thus far have buried us almost out of sight again.
  13. Last 3 games they've knocked us off by an average of 41 points. We've beaten them 3 times out of the last 10. Including once when Garlett kicked 4 and once when Watts kicked 3.
  14. “We came to the conclusion that having a fresh start and playing in front of friends and family was probably a bit more important at this stage of my career. Obviously I do want to play in finals and play in flags but at this stage it was more important for me to get back, be around my family and friends and to have a fresh start." Jesse Hogan says making a move to Fremantle had been on his mind throughout the 2018 season
  15. I've watched the game twice mate. I suggest you have another watch of the game and try to notice how many times open options and leads are ignored due to hesitation before a kick is launched to an outnumbered contest.
  16. Pert was on SEN this afternoon and he talked about the possibility of some family members going into the hub.
  17. That is the complete opposite of what happened.
  18. Bennell, ANB and Jackson all say this is rubbish.
  19. Unchanged lineup. Hopefully not the same story with the game plan.
  20. Hunt and vandenBerg combined for 7 tackles, 12 disposals (4 of which were kicks), 1 goal, 1 score involvement and 2 one percenters. I'm not sure this argument about their immense pressure stands up, let alone that they brought more of the things we are lacking atm.
  21. This is also an interesting case for the AFL and their stubbornness in not changing back some of the rule changes that don't have the desired effect. In 2019 the AFL recorded the lowest average score across the league since 1967. Scoring shots were down also, so it wasn't inaccuracy. The AFL used the VFL trial games to justify the rule changes for 2019, despite the fact that the average score went down by 9 points in those games.
  22. Can't wait champ. Nothing says "I understand footy" like judging the ability of a player one a game by game basis.
  23. vandenBerg last week 7 disposals and 0 goals. Must be Brownlow incoming then? I'm rapt our list strategy revolves around Bali holidays.
