It’s premature - I know. So if teams finished as-is. We’d have pick 6, 18, 24, 36 and 90. I’d take 18 and 24 to Cats (as Suns unlikely to trade ) for Pick 9. Take 6,9 to WC for Reid. If they take it, good otherwise we use it on Curtain and Duursma.

That’s what we can only hope for. they don’t have an easy draw: Collingwood, Doggies and Cats all away. You can almost put down 3 losses there. Lions, Bombers and Power at home - would be hard to win more than one of those. Blues, Swans, Eagles and Hawks round out the rest , which they’ll probably 3-4. So can’t see them winning more than 4-5 games for the rest of the season for 10-11 wins, which is about 9-12 ladder wise.

Freo finishing 4th or 5th last we be a dream but It ain’t happening. They are better than this and will still finish somewhere in 9-12. Still gives us a top 10.

Cameron is the key matchup. He is one of the best link up players and can do a lot of damage assisting and on the scoreboard. Hibbo probably has the strength and agility to match, but Scott can easily exploit his fitness by trying to drag him higher up the ground. The other player is Myers. I think Rivers is the right match up for him. We have the ascendancy in the midfield and need to use the ball better going inside 50. When Port ramped up the pressure (which they played full 4 quarters against us), Cats were useless. That is the blueprint.

Port will hit a wall in the next month. It happens to all modern teams that will reload for finals. Just depends on the opponents and travel schedule they get.

You have to admire Geelongs f50 connection. They’ll be deep in finals again this year.

McKenzie hopeless. Port just thinking it’ll happen. Calling it - Peaked too early.

Their game is heavily focused on post-contest / outside. Without De Goey, they really have no-one that can dominte on the inside. As a result i think they give up a level of physicality.

We all know they were sick and really had no excuses not to beat them. They looked tired - could be season / loading / illness. Should have won by 6+ goals because that’s what it looked like. Got the 4 points move on to next game. Get the 4 pts at the Cattery and remove any doubt on our contention, form and serious threat. The only thing that annoys me is that we get within 7 pts at PA and we don’t get the credit coming off a ridiculous travel schedule, 6 day breaks and Oliver playing on one leg.
