Still don’t understand why we got rid of Hunt. I feel so sorry for him having to live through this garbage.

I’m in this camp as well. For a team and coaching group hell bent on learning, we are sure good at not making any real progress on obvious flaws. I’ll go out on a limb and say that this year is probably our last realistic chance at a flag for the while. We will come back to the pack unless we can inject some critical new players.

The Run Home
I don't hide from the fact that I'm more of a glass half-empty type of person. Its the way im wired i suppose, but your statement is simply not true. I think we have to let go of how good we were in 2021 (We were bloody fantastic) - we are simply not as good anymore. The stark difference in so many of our players is actually quite sickening and does make me wonder whether we have the cattle and desire to get it done. Any team in the 8 at end of R24 has a chance, so im not saying its impossible, but if you had to bet your livelihood on the premiership team today, you are not putting your faith in Melbourne. You'd be certifiable insane if you were to.

The Run Home
At the time we played Carlton they were so badly out-of-form and ripe for an absolute smashing and yet we could only conjour a mild victory. You also cannot deny that Collingwood were far from fit and had illness sweep through the club - this wasn't a rumour. We were lucky to play them when we did. For me that win has a big asterisk on it.

The Run Home
Last time i checked they don't award premiership medals on predicted score. Kicking accuracy is part form and if you are not kicking accurately, you are not playing well.

The Run Home
I have seen enough. 2-2 since our lost to Port where we needed to go 3-1 or better. Top 2 is all but lost and with the way we are playing it’ll be an absolute miracle if we stay in the Top 4. Let’s face reality - we limped across the line against the Blues, and got Pies in the midst of the Black Death going through their club. This game was always going to be a tough one to win, but we were dealt an absolute gift with no Danger, Cameron and Guthrie. We on the other hand were missing Oliver. I cannot see how this gets turned around and expecting miracles in forward 50 connection this year is bordering on insanity. This should have been sorted out in preseason.

I’ve watched this closely for the past few weeks- there is nothing in it. I think we need to move on from this fallacy. The issue is opponents defend the kick out to Gawn extremely well by sandwiching him. It’s not illegal. What irks me is the 2nd defenders opponent does absolute f all to stop the 3rd man up. He needs to be isolated or use him as a decoy. He needs to find a way to impose himself on the game. It’s actually worrying how quickly his game is deteriorating.

The last month of forward craft is disgusting. Chin needs a spell. Can’t expect the world of JVR. Smith quiet after Stewart rolled onto him. Gawn is a shadow of his former self and we should drop him in the defensive half he has no business in the forward line. When was his last goal / mark ??? It’s a failed experiment. This was the game we just had to win for top 2. I expect to lose to GWS next week and slip out of top 4.
