2023 Injury List
What’s the quickest turn around time for this? 4-6?

Mac Andrew
Given his frame is unlikely to change all that much more, i dont think he'll be cut out for any inside / midfield role. He seems to have similar traits to Lever, Aliir type and other tall / lanky intercepting defenders. You tend to see this type of player really shine early on in their career - just not seeing it for Mac A yet. Unless Gold Coast offered us a Bowes type deal, i wouldnt bite just yet.

The Run Home
On the coach (presumably fed by CD) said cats hardest, Melbourne 2nd hardest.

COACHES VOTES: Rd 11 2023
I can - he is not in great form. But agree once this changes, then i think it means our intercept game is up and going and most likely winning games.

Hawks racism allegations (merged thread)
I dont think Russell Jackson (The reporter ) was the main issue - it was the individuals within the footy club (presumably) that leaked the details that are to blame here. Russell was just doing his job as a journo. One could question his ethics though as he would have presumably been made aware that the alleged had not been afforded the opportunity to provide their responses to the allegations within the review process and not have that play out in the media as it is not a thorough and fair process.

Ball Magnets Podcast - Jack Viney
Jack is just a different unit suited to a different era. "Enjoyed playing mudball" , especially when he was in his junior high school years as no one really came near him in his more senior years. I wonder how much his foot issues affected his development and ultimately his output as a player - hard to know really. I notice is on-field time is really low so far (60-70%) - not sure if that means much.

Hawks racism allegations (merged thread)
Said from day naught that the leaking of the review would ultimately undermine the whole process. Low and behold, we have gotten to the point where we are none the wiser and everyone (accused, complainants, AFL, footyclubs) has suffered as a result.

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
So the 360’s watch list run by Montagna and King highlighted what some of us have already mentioned and that is our ability to win ground balls post clearance/ general play and and how we elect to go with fewer players around the ball. I think it’s really obvious that this is a trend in the game we haven’t adopted yet and I don’t really understand why. Especially given how we are conceding so much here and putting pressure on our defence to generate our turnover. Im not a tactician, but if many teams are doing it - Doggies have been doing it for years, then why don’t we ? Is it because of vulnerability we have?

Collingwood forward Ash Johnson
No way Pies let him go.

The Run Home
I lack in creative writing WCW. It was too early for The 2nd half, and my only other alternative was “The Next 14 Games”.

This REALLY concerns me
Is it possibly that swans are keeping him employed for monitoring and medical treatment rather than letting him retire and leaving him to care for himself? Cannot see him coming back from this.

Let's try and pin point the actual issue.
Good points. The defensive 'retreat' is the opposite of what Port and the Pies are doing. At least in 2018 we were manic with our forward half press. .

Clayton Oliver Set to Return for Kings Birthday
Statistically speaking with every loss, we get closer to a win.. that is all the logic I can count on now because every other insight tells me we are going to lose another one this year.

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton
We lose this and the media turn their full attention to us - even if Geelong lose to the Doggies. Melbourne of old would have buckled under the weight of expectation and off field pressure. Have some credits in the bank over the past few years. But lose and face a 4 possibly 5 match loosing streak. I just have a feeling the game in Geelong will be a game where it will be a battle for both teams to keep their respective seasons alive.
