He isn’t and never will be a great kick. It’s serviceable but it’s an attribute common throughout most of the team.
-
Georgiadies is a 3rd tall. Won’t compliment our list / game plan.
-
We’d have to show something seriously good tomorrow for us to have any chance at 4-0 in the next month. You don’t just click fingers and play great football. Form is largely confidence and that takes time to build.
-
That was my thought too. It was easily 1m too far right. Shouldn’t have counted. They need to tighten the whole line and mark nonsense. The umps are way too late in calling the goal kicking player running off the line.

Cracking game. Pies n Port Top 2 and will be the GF.
-
That’s not a free. He threw himself to ground. How gullible and silly are these umps.

So if the Bombers win tonight, it doesn’t bode well for the AFL in fixturing integrity where all teams off the bye lose against a non bye team. With so much other inequity, this just adds another dimension.

He had a lot of the footy but wasn’t exactly setting the house on fire. He’s a 2nd rounder at best. If Freo ask for a first rounder they are going to get a rude shock. He is playing as a winger and if he came into our side would need to dislodge one of Hunter or Langdon. Unlikely IMO. Could he potentially play a high half forward role? Can’t see him doing ANBs role, so it’s either Kozzy , Spargo or Chandler . Again I’m not seeing the upside.

Pies just look like they are centrally by by AI. Their game at times looks so ridiculously in sync that you would say it’s flukey - but it is not. Yes the Suns really suck and I think this game will just about seal Dewy’s fate. Poor fella - had a Rolls Royce list but could never really create a team environment. They need to bring in Hardwick and a brand new coaching panel.
-
I’ve held in long enough. How did we lose to this mob.
-
They are different types. Smith is very athletic and just needs continuity to build some solid form. He will be a difficult 3rd tall to match up on and allows Fritta to take the small defender which is better for him too. For all the criticism against our forward line, to me it’s not the players as much as it is the coaching and game plan. Fix the later and we are back to a 100+ points per game team.

Brisbane look ominous.

TRAINING: Thursday 29th June 2023
Gawndy the Great replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
BBB had a great start to the year - something like 10 goals in the first couple of games before coming out of the side. The main thing for mine is the f50 movement. We need to create space in there but instead end up all leading to the hot spot which makes it easier for opposition defenders to work off their man and spoil / intercept. If there are set leading patterns into different areas there is a better chance to hit a target when they are isolated. -
Where will the revenue come from?
Gawndy the Great replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I get your point adults will always gamble and how much they gamble is clearly an important issue as well. My issue with the advertising has always been with how it normalises gambling for children. It is 100% by design and is no different to how adults groom children for exploitation. It has to stop and the AFL need to remove themselves from any and all gambling revenue streams. -

It’s such a huge problem. My 11 yo talks about the odds and multi’s. It is so disgusting how far the AFL and government has allowed this to grow in our community. Thankfully common sense has prevailed. -
Key to this game is stopping GWS clearance game. If we can nullify this, we win this comfortably (assuming we kick somewhat accurately)
-
Nope - I’d say a 3rd rounder. Barely gets a game.
-
Yeah I suppose that is also a possibility, but the engineering involved would make it quite more expensive.
-
Just wait until the year that the Pies have to play there and lose. Then it’ll be front page news with all shows talking about it.
-
The AFL should have forced them to expand the wings to within a 2-3 m of the MCG specs. Even if that meant taking a few rows out from the stands on both wings or demolish the stand alongside Moorabool street. The fact that they are allowed to maintain that advantage to 9, soon to be 11 home games is ridiculous. I think most teams will struggle at this venue - even the Pies and Port who rely on corridor space to transition. Geelong just [censored] it down and force you wide and slow.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Gawndy the Great replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
In other news, Doggies will take another Key Position Forward FS in Jordon Croft. They are a little top heavy and may look to trade one of their key talls out while they still have currency. But they’ll likely have to move Naughton to the backline to keep them all in the same team. Naughton, Darcy, JUH, English, Lobb. Some serious KP talent there. -
Didn’t they say it was muscle belly not tendon though? What you say does make sense though.
-
By the way Richo talked about it, there were still some signals in his scan. I’m not sure what that means in terms of recovery, but if he is still sore , than I agree it maybe another couple.
-
If the scans are still showing something its got to be than a minor strain.
