Grundy and futures.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
That’s way over for Pick 1… way overs. Hold onto Petty and give WC 6,11 and F1. Norf cannot beat that unless they give up both 2 and 3.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
That’s a silly silly trade. Why didn’t we give them a F1

Farewell Brodie Grundy
No, that is overs by a long way.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Well this is just BS. It had to be two picks now which has a greater points value than 23 or whatever their first pick was. It’s all going to GCS for Pick 11 anyway so not all is lost.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Yes - if we didn’t have a ruckman to field and wanted a premium ruckman. Supply & Demand.

Trade Rumours 2023
I don’t think they will. They want the quality players ant the top end and are probably competing for the same players we are eyeing off. North have been vacuuming players for the past couple of years and their list turnover is all but complete. For them it’s all about quality not quantity. WC however need more players and will need to be enticed to trade. I think 5,14 and F1 is overs but probably what it takes they also need to get over Curtin and do the trade with us 😂

2023 NAB AFL DRAFT COMBINE
Can Darcy Wilson play football? Has some fantastic athletic attributes.
-
Harrison Petty
I get the appeal. But we’d be cutting back a fair bit and would be the wrong type of player to trade out just as May is entering twilight.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I've said this somewhere perhaps a few pages back but happy to repeat. We have 6,14,27,35. 25 - Grundy trade (TBC) 51 - JJ comp 52 - Harmes trade 1. 14+25 to Cats for Pick 8. They have one whole pick for the draft with a list that is aging chronically. 2. F1 (~1000 pts) + 2nd rounders (35,41,52 - 1180 pts) for GCS Pick 11 (1329). given them silly points, but are competing with Norf atm. At this point we could have 6,8,11,27 Additional Considerations/Options 3. Chase Nick Haynes and take full salary (1.2-1.5M) for their Pick 7. Or take a portion of it for Pick 16 or as much as GWS is willing for their Pick 42. 4. Package up any two of 6,8,11 to move higher into the draft. Given the current run of play, I think its pretty set and nobody would be willing to do anything their. 5. Split Pick 27 if required when matching any bids for Brown for a F2 and 3rd rounder (and split again until Brown is matched)

Farewell Brodie Grundy
If Sydney want us to cover some of his salary, they should be prepared to handover pick 11. If not, Pick 24 thanks. Otherwise we hold onto him.

Trade Rumours 2023
Whether they like it or not, are successful or not, Norf will help build the Tasmania team. They will have too much talent to keep on their books and wont have salary cap concessions like GWS and GCS were afforded with the living-away-from-home allowance. They have a short window to make it work before they have to start renewing a crop of players as soon as 3-4 years time at which point there will be a garage sale. That is if they can get out of the bottom 4 - stay there for another 1-2 years, players will start to leave the club. With their defence essentially non-existent, 2024 is going to be similar to this year, so i expect more pain. They will win more games against the bottom 4-6 teams, but cant see them really challenging for top 8 until at least 2026.

Farewell James Harmes
Harmes will be kidding himself if he thinks he'll get in the 22 of the Doggies, he is even less of a chance their.

Any word on Angus?
Though Murphy passed a concussion test, he made the call to sub himself out of the game for Patrick Lipinski due to reporting blurred vision, telling The Herald Sun he “couldn’t really see” coach Craig McRae at the quarter-time huddle. That doesn't bode well for the AFL. That a player has to sub himself off because the concussion protocols determined that he was fit to continue but he was clearly symptomatic. The irony isnt lost on me either that Collingwood may also have to retire a player due to concussion. I could just see the narrative if both players had to retire, that "its an unfortunate part of the game"...yeah getting illegally cleaned up off the ball.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
That is a great way of putting it. Grundy will be forced to play ball otherwise god forbid we’ll be stuck with him and he’ll be stuck with us.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Yeah [censored] situation. 2019 it was the GCS who took Anderson from us. This year looking like Norf will take McKercher. Sanders maybe our next best choice. I hope North take him instead.
-
Tom Hawkins
Tom Hawkins only because he can teach some forward craft. Maybe offer him a 1 year contract with 2 years coaching?

The Pick 10 Thread
Will Norf try to go 14,20 for 10? Or 14, Future comp pick (20)? I wouldn't trade our Pick 13 and and our F1 if it became a bidding war because that is overs. I would however trade the points equivalent of Pick 13 ~ (26,34). Ultimately i think we have them covered, unless they get silly, which they can afford to with all the picks gifted to them.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
That is a weird choice. They are overstocked with the small/medium forward. He is essentially the same player as Elliot. Can you play Hill, Elliot, Schultz, McCreary, McStay, Mihochek, Ginnivan and their 2nd ruck in the forward line. Ginnivan probably makes way. Johnson stuck in the VFL and still you have an extra.
