I remember press releases that LJ was staying. Don’t take what the club says as Gospel 100% of the time. They are not going to come out and say yes, he asked for a trade - he is unhappy that we put him back on the field after his injury which nearly killed him. Our footy sucks, game plan is broken, other players are disheartened with the direction, our pre season didn’t hit the mark , so on and so on. No organisation in their right mind will admit their flaws, stuff ups and weaknesses publicly. But if you’re convinced there’s nothing to see here then I’m happy for you. I just don’t buy it so agree to disagree.

You are right he doesn’t have to do anything. So when his commitment to the club is in question and the fan base are demoralised with all of the uncertainty this story is generating, he chooses to remain silent. What does that tell you?

If none of this was true, isn’t it reasonable for Trac to come out and use his platform to categorically deny it? Similar to Gawn electing to take the route of citing Tracs contractual situation as the only way to try and alay fears of his departure. There was none of his usual charisma to deny it - in fact his statements and attitude further add to the credibility of Tom Morris claims. Whether you like it or not, (I don’t btw) this will remain an issue for quite some time. Every single club will have picked up the phone to Tracs manager had a convo and consequently will be preparing an offer to him and to the club. Think about that. They smell blood.

You are kidding right? You cannot just wish away this problem. The letter changes Jack all. All it does is buy time. This issue is nowhere near settled and to think that is ridiculous. I’ll breath a sigh of relief if we get through trade period with Trac still on our list. There’s still the possibility albeit small, that he doesn’t return from this debacle at all and hangs up his boots, so my second sigh of relief is if he steps into the field in Round 1 2025.

Wasnt he rated elite by Champion Data no so long ago? I think with his leadership potential, maturity, there is a case for a late 1st roudner to be made. If we deal with Port, he'd be a great temp replacement for Powell Pepper (ACL) and add to their HF line. If we can deal Port for Houston, we may get away with a F1 or 2nd rounder.

BS. Think about requesting a trade this week. This week of all weeks. After JV, Trac have all been linked with moves. If it was genuine for family reasons make it known once the season ends, heck wait until next week. To do it now not 1 day after the Trac statement is for all to see.

And in that lies the truth. No denial around Trac being disgruntled or even denial around Trac requesting a trade. Instead Pert chose to reinforce that he will not be traded. Is that a public shot back at Trac giving him his answer?

I think most have moved beyond that this is mere speculation. At this stage I would have expected Trac to come out and deny this given this [censored] storm it has caused in his name if it wasn’t true. The club felt obligated to, so he should as well unless he wants to send a message.

I get what you are saying - however trying to match the role of said person and the way this has played out suggests the role has to be significant in stature. You’re not going out of your way to make this ruckus for just anyone. Trac would very much be aware of how destructive these events are and that is why I think it has to be someone quite senior l.
