  1. Where was Adrian in finding these loop holes for Kozzy ?? Where were you Adriaaaan
  2. That cannot be. I bought 5 tickets to Q53 last night Row V. The only L4 Bay on the Olympic stand sold out was Q49 and Q50 i think. Everything from Q53 - Q57 still had at least 60-70% availability as far as i could see. $45 GA is bordering on ridiculous i have to say. i remember the old days where a GA ticket was $20.
  3. Probably aspiring to BT standards. He has always been a little harder on the Dees.
  4. It was also said on the Mid-week tackle last night in passing (Jon Ralph, Jay Clarke and some other Carlton [censored]). I couldn't believe it. We are constantly vilified by the AFL and by the media. I tell you its no longer a coincidence, i am convinced there is something happening behind the scenes. The head is sacrosanct until you play Melbourne. (Brayshaw and Lever in the last 10 games are just recent examples).
  5. Yeah thats my read too, he'd be battline for #1 ruck position by being only a few years behind the newly recruited Ethan Reid. Much better to come down to Melbourne and take the tutelage of the best ruckman of all time in Maximus Aurelius Gawn The F/S just need to be tightened up not overhauled like the academy system. The F/S just needs an 'anchor' pick from the round they are bidded on. Bundled with other picks to meet the point requirements (if any). It just avoids situations where a club can effectively double dip in the 1st round of a draft without having the round 1 picks. The academy is simple, even up the playing ground and take away any concessions afforded to interstate clubs - they always complain on social media about the Victoria clubs getting better treatment. Time for them to get the Victorian experience in the draft.
  6. He’ll come through F/S. I doubt he’d be a first rounder though. If the rumoured changes are true, an interesting scenario that will likely arise is when a club is put in a position where their academy or F/S prospect hasn’t been picked by another club at their pick during the round. They then have to make a choice whether to pick the prospect or take a gamble on another player hoping the prospect gets through to the next round. The end of round picks will become highly sought after as clubs with prospects look to pursue some hedging options in the draft making for some frame before and during draft week.
  7. The most hilarious outcome here would be the AFL to come out and overrule/appeal the decision just to add to the ongoing circus that is the tribunal and MRO.
  8. As much as I want Christians gone, he actually did his job right here. It was the tribunal and Jeff Gleeson that fudged this one up.
  9. Conveniently after Suns have filled the treasure chest with multiple academy players; Lions with multiple F/S in the top 20. It is definitely needed. The simple rule of having a pick in the round where the nomination is made avoids a club getting away with a stack of talent (ala Suns). That was an absolute steal for them last year.
  10. We have clearly [censored] some people off at AFL HQ. Non suspensions, ludicrous fixturing, one sided umpiring.
  11. If it was Round 20 I’d say you were onto something, but not after 5 gAmes.
  12. That game last year they put the cue in the rack at 3Q time and could never arrest the momentum we put on the game. They lost it more than we won it. Don’t get me wrong I was over the moon but we didn’t deserve to win that game. After we got the jump on them in 1st quarter they were able to get to work and gain ascendancy relatively easily. It just took half a quarter. It’s scary how easily it was done. Last week was a similar story. They made us look second rate. Yes fatigue factored in but that again was 12+ goal game. if they hadn’t put the cue in the rack. The Tigers game will tell us nothing if we win given how depleted they are. Games against Cats and Blues will give us the data we need to get a read on how we are truly going for the season. If we are 6-3 or better I’d be saying we going ok tracking somewhere about 4-8 on the ladder.
  13. I would respectfully disagree. In none of the previous games since 22 SF have we ever looked like we had the game on our terms. Use whatever excuse you want, they have us worked out. They continually get us at stoppage and deny us the ball with their uncontested style game. Tell me how it’s not a magic spell and Goody will hire you in a heart beat, coz he frankly has no idea.
  14. I noticed in the podcast on here that we talked about 3 games in 13 days as a major factor / reason. Whilst I don’t doubt fatigue was involved, 3 in 13 is actually almost 1 game every 7 days, which isn’t really all that bad. Lions were at 3 in 14 days so that is hardly a difference to explain the monumental differences. You could say that we have played 1 extra game than the lions in the same time frame alluding to the bye round that Lions already have but at this early stage of the season , does this really matter? I refuse to accept this as an excuse and I think it was a very small factor in the whole scheme of things. Doing so is really not doing the required game analysis to really understand how we need to play against them. Our brand does not stack up anymore. Lions have the formula to beat us and have essentially done so in 3/4 last encounters - let’s be fair it’s lucky they are not 4/4. They know how to beat us and do so comprehensively. This is a coaching failure more than anything else.
  15. Has such good game sense and kicking skill. Can break games open. Preference to play forward. I’d love him off HB. Does he have enough drive and tenacity to fit into our culture? I’m sure those in the know in recruitment world would know about his fit. My gut tells me he wouldn’t be a good club fit. Perhaps too many years at the GC with lowish standards and a losing culture have taken its toll.
  16. Logical but it won’t happen yet. The purists / traditionalists are still sitting in critical position on the AFL commission. In the next 10-20 years as we ultimately replace every AFL commission member with someone born in this century I think we will see this an other outdated aspects of our game overhauled including fixturing , F/S , trades etc.
  17. I suppose the bright side is that with Murphy retiring, we should have a better chance of getting a favourable outcome with the cap issue now that Collingwood are likely seeking the same outcome. im sad for him but not for Collingwood. Its very fitting for them to also lose a critical cog in their team.
  18. Every team has an injury prone player… We already have Salem and questionably McAdam. Let’s see if Petty joins the ranks.
  19. Has speed. We need speed. Put him on the HB.
  20. i just saw the other incident that had Crouch rubbed out for a week. I couldn't believe that the excuse was that one player had went with his hands (butters) down to collect the ball whilst the other (crouch) didn't until milliseconds after the impact was made. We talk about technique and the ability to cause significant injury and you have Butters going at speed launching himself into that contest. I think its another way that players will now 'disguise' intent to make contact. Similar to Maynards 'smother'. The AFL just need to make it black and white. If contact with head is made, you are in trouble. You cannot glean intent of a player, so we should stop expecting umpires and MRO to do such a thing. Assess the action and impact and give a penalty fitting the outcome.
  21. Hunter does appear to have his eyes on Rozee but that attribute has always irked me, that eyes were on the footy not the player. Hunter was at the ball first and Rozee led with this head. Listening to Christensen on SEN right now. He has no freaking clue. He says "not clear" on whether Butters made high contact with Banfield.
  22. So Butters gets off? Right call or not? I think it introduces more confusion. I swear someone got suspended for a similar action last year. Was it Rankine?
  23. Just watch him get off though.
  24. Butters has to go for that hit. Minimum 1 week like Kozzy. Let’s if the media carry on for a full week about it. This will be a test of whether the AFL has favourites or not.
