Seriously how did McKay get the Roos a #2 compensation pick. he is deadset deplorable.
  5. The other 3 players id have an eye on as they are out of contract next year are: Mac Andrew (obvious), Sam De Koning (at the cattery, hard to see it, but if they fall of the face of the earth as we are all expecting at some point, then he may want to leave) and Finn Callaghan.
  6. The line-up is for 2025. I don't disagree with you in the longer term but i think Jeffo cannot claim a spot in the 22 without having a single AFL game under his belt. I see that CHF position as a blend of Turner and Jeffo and depending on how Jeffo develops, we may have to relocate Turner into the backline. The beauty is we have a lot of options with Turner, Petty etc that can play both ends of the ground (arguably).
  7. Petty, Sparrow, 2024 Pick 1 for Butters and Houston? haha. Seriously, this is gathering legs and im stoked that for once we have been linked to a player that is a gun. The more i see his stats and ranking and game impact, the more im thinking its akin to a top 10 pick. probably in the 5-10 range. I had a view earlier this year that we should forget 'the reload and have another crack in 2025' and instead, look to the draft to accelerate a rebuild. However, after seeing the mouse pack, i think we have most of the puzzle pieces already to at least content for the next 5 years. The obvious questions will be around replacements for May, Gawn, TMac and whether Jeffo comes on and Petty sticks around. If we are able to obtain Houston for this years 1st round pick we will have an impressive 2025 side with some quality depth. D: AMW, May, McVee HB: Petty, Lever, Houston C: Windsor, Viney, Langdon HF: ANB, Turner, Trac F: Kozzy, JVR, Fritta Foll: Oliver, Riv, Gawn Bench from : TMac, Salem, Bowey, Woey, Jeffo, Chin, Sparrow, Howes There's only 4 players over 30. A good chunk in the 25-29 bracket and plenty of youth. So in deciding between using this years 1st pick on Houston vs Draft, i have changed my mind that it is worth reloading for another tilt in 2025.
  8. Make the memberships $5 more and there is $350K right there. Im sure others would be willing to even double or triple that without hesitation.
  9. My CV is as follows. Born : Melbourne FC hospital Education: MCG University Majors: Statistics, Analytics and graduated with honours in Armchair expertise Work Experience: Bay 13, Champion Data
  10. I don’t pretend to understand fitness very well but I would have tHought his fitness after 3 months of footy will have improved to the extent of a preseason plus a number of games. So why are we still making references to a pre season. He has played enough footy and gotten enough miles into his legs by now. Or doesn’t it work like that?
  11. Apparently Harry Armstrong is a one to watch for in KPF stocks. Expect him to rise up the rankings. Great pair of hands. Also Trainor will likely go in the top 5 and is set to be a superstar KPD.
  12. You asked.
  13. can the real slimshady Tom Morris please stand up, please stand up.
  14. That is overs IMO. 1 first round pick or swap for Petty and potentially some change. His form is down on previous years. But agree on everything else. Would give us much better ball movement and transition out of defensive half.
  15. If he is disgruntled and requests a trade, it will make it easier to trade with. They will no doubt ask for the world and cite his AA credentials. Reality is, form this year is so-so and he will not likely make the AA and finish in the lower end of top 10 B&F. Question is would you be willing to give up a F1 for him and would Port accept it. I wouldn't hand over this year's first unless we finish top 4-6. Anything outside the 8 im taking to the draft.
  16. Oh I’m with you re playing this year. However he is a leader and should still be in and around the club. I’ll admit I’m not sure where he stands from a medical perspective, but the lack of his social media presence online in footy matters is a bit worrying. Knowing his character I’d expect him to be trolling (in a good way) everything written about MFC online - inc his mates posts etc. But I don’t see a whole lot of activity, which is why I’m a bit worried. It’s not him to be this absent.
  17. IF you take away some of the controversial opinions made, he is actually a decent listen. I think he does go over-the-top at times for click-bait - whether that is his character or manufactured, i don't know. His analysis on the game though and the way he talks and breaks down issues, is actually pretty good. Better than most in the industry.
  18. Trac has been awfully absent/quiet on social media lately. ANyone have any insight as to where he is at with recovery? I would have thought he may have showed up to the box on Friday night - perhaps that is unrealistic given what he has gone through (inc his appendicitis)
  19. Who is the young lad that assists Goody on the bench with stats? I want his job.
  20. He’s a very good player. Upgrade on Salo and/or good replacement for Brayshaw. He’d demand a first rounder though. Worth it IMO.
  21. I actually think their list is pretty good and is under delivering. They are just lacking hugely in system and defence. They match us in the midfield and have us covered in the forward line. Their defence really lacks a versatile interceptor and they don't really have a Petracca equivalent.
  22. Thats the media spin at play. But there's also an element that our list was primed to be a dynasty and it fell short given our dominant 2021 finals display - there hasnt been any other like it in recent memory. Everyone could see the holes in Geelong and Collingwood with their age profile so probably dont have the same expectation. Whether the list was truly one worthy of multiple flags is up for debate, many on here think it is/was and that is probably where a lot of the disdain for Goodwin originates from. I think we lack(ed) the list balance (key forwards / outside) and game style (turnover / ball movement elements) to be a dynasty team, but still think we deserved at least another flag.
  23. There are no easy games in the run home. To go 3-3 will be an absolute achievement and perhaps just get us through. Its an incredibly difficult feat playing Freo in Perth and with no Gawn will make it even more so. We are on a bit of a roll and i hope we can cause an upset, but being realistic (with a sprinkle of MFCSS), i cant see us getting within 6 goals. I sense one of those snap-back-to-reality with a bit of kick-in-the-guts MFC specials coming up.
  24. you are not wrong, but what i meant to say is that using Pick 5 for the F/S would be a complete waste. They ultimately need to decide on whether they want Draper or Petty. I don't think there is a world where they get all 3 unless they split the pick with GCS and hope Draper slips to 8-9 and trade the other one with Melbourne for Petty - but that is extremely unlikely to happen.
  25. the one above has stolen it mid-flight.
