Last comment by me. Do you realise you are employed illegally if you are underpaid or denied proper super and other workplace conditions. That is what the enquiry found to those stores it looked into
-
Well then you do not follow it to closely at the MCG. Again you are splitting hairs. The discussion is in the context of the recent issues at the footy not the Security industry. Surely that does not need to be stated on a footy forum about fans behaving badly.
-
Not my fault if you did not follow the cases that were prosecuted and the subsequent inquiry.
-
The same suspicion I had with Seven Eleven workers, Service Station workers and other industries where young Indians dominate a profession. All found to be being employed illegally and the majority on Student Visas or work permits.
-
Read again, it is not an assertion, it is something I suspect. And where did I say all?
-
A poster to Kennetts column in the Security industry pointed out that the Security contact holder is a Sydney company who have sub contracted the work out. This is usually the case when you see a large grouping of one ethnic community quickly dominate an industry. I strongly suspect that the sub contacting company who is directly employing Indian workers who are student visa holders and likely not meeting award conditions.

I hate to say it but I conclude a lot of our players are just happy being AFL players. That was their ambition and now they are living the dream, being well looked after financially, enjoying there time with their mates at the Club and the minor celebrity that goes with it. This goal kicking issue shows no one is really pressuring them to get better in the way a professional athlete should and the way players of similar ability at other Clubs do.

Lol. but seriously I think we all know footballers have egos and I believe there would be a lot of ex gun goalkickers who would be flattered to be giving technical advice to our players.
-
Different sport but still applicable. At a youth group where I help out I watched a young kid shooting hoops. He was ok but not getting the shots in. I noticed he was shooting with both feet in a line facing the basket. I told him to put his lead foot in front of the other one when aiming at the target for an immediate positive result. Imagine the little things a gun footy sharpshooter could impart to our forwards.

Hogan is a Rolls Royce, the only one we had for a long time. Also one of the few players who have left us I would love to see succeed.
-
It is possible.
-
As usual MFC is one step behind the pacesetters who would be going hell for leather trying to win the flag this year but also an eye on next year. It is very possible to do our best for the rest of the year trying to win every game but adjust gameplans and make calls on the likes of T Mac whether that be a stint in the VFL to get back his touch or surgery if his injury is as bad as some suspect here.
-
Yes, and Hogan and kent kicked 5 between them yesterday. We have not replaced that lost ability. Contingencies should have been in place from the time Hogan looked unsettled and likely to leave.
-
Tyson, Salem trade swap was a con job. Sold as us getting two top ten picks. Tyson had been hopeless with GWS and would have only bought a late second rounder at best if a single trade..

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Sorry kids replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
We love Gawny. But he is not there yet. Superstars make clutch goals and sustain their dominance for the best part of a decade. -

Different times, different systems but I think we need and would love to see a recruiting coup like the one in the late eighties that gave us Earl Spalding, Warren Dean and Todd Viney to add to an already fairly strong list. History probably says we needed one or two more stars to cap it off but they were exciting times. -
Too true, and reflects poorly on the people running the Club. I posted elsewhere, Club success at the Crows and Essendon under his captaincy and assistant coaching is very modest. As I take little interest in Adelaide clubs I always thought he was a Premiership Captain. Not so.
-
I also think we were sold a story with the Roos years and succession plan of Goodwin working under him and then taking over. Naively, I thought it would instill a Roos playing and coaching philosophy for us much like the Swans did with Roos/ Longmire. As it is now Goodwin cuts a lone figure, at least that is how it appears to many supporters.
-
I hope you are correct Lord Nev but have never seen evidence of us being ahead of the game or even timely in making necessary change like the Hawks, Cats and interstate power Clubs. All I see is a corporate mentality getting ingrained with coaches and players learning and making statements like the Demons brand of football and nonsense about everyone working hard and hurting as much as supporters.
-
Agree and will add that even a strong showing in the back half of the year would not instill strong confidence in me that 2020 could be our year. Good on you supporters who have greater faith but no amount of persuasion can tell me we are not the worst Club with the exception of the two newbies. To put in context anyone who has commented for 55 years that we are not a good enough Club to win the flag or do not have the players to do so has been correct on ever occasion that success has been debated.
-
Fantastic post and summary of where players are at. It really highlights how much the players and coaches have to work on for the remainder of the season and how much better the side could and should be playing. And then its over to the recruiters to earn their keep for 2020 season.
-
Chalk that one up to you dieter.
-
Agree Hore is a quality find but Jetta is a must to play on small forwards.
-
I remember like it was yesterday, walking out of Waverly stadium, September 1987, and saying to crowing Hawks supporter. "Do not worry, we will get revenge" They laughed and are still laughing at us 32 years later.

Easy fix. Line him up stepping one metre to the right before he start his run in.
