  1. I reckon you are on the money. I see we have added Baker, Lockhart, May to our best 22/25 this year so far, am I missing one, we need another three or four new players next year toto be in that grouping, 22-25 to be in contention for finals, player wise. At least two of those new players need to be established players.
  2. Good luck to him. Plenty of time if he is good enough
  3. Not like Mahoney the South Aust boy who rolled over in the Lever deal.
  4. Serong sounds a likely type if we do not have picks 1 or 2.
  5. Oh yes, playing against us would be easy for an experienced side. I was thinking from our point of view with our own players.
  6. I am genuinely interested to know from others. Do Clubs do some sort of skills matrix on our own players and keep tabs on the work going in to correcting areas of weakness. It would be relatively easy to do and monitor with all the resources at the Club. So a skill of Vineys would be Extracting from a pack excellent limited practice required Kicking on the run opposite feet average one session per week until certain level of improvement.
  7. True if you have the right players. But do you think getting experience into some of the players out there on the weekend will make a difference.
  8. Spot on. You are 100 per cent correct, the coaches are playing a high fitness, bang and crash style. So I will give you the injuries excuse, you can have that, but what then of the coaching tactics. The other way to look at it is the players who trained lightly or were in rehab pre season should be running better now than those opposition players who slogged through pre season and all the matches so far. Of more concern is if Smith had kicked instead of passing, Bradshaw had straightened from the flank 30 out and TMac had held a mark we would have likely won.
  9. I wonder how keen Frost will be to sign mindful of Steven May.

  11. He may become a star and I hope so too hope but made a name as a young third defender. We paid overs for him
  12. So you have Zorko Melksham Lever Neale Jeffy Cameron Vanders Robinson Smith Andrews. We will just have to disagree. Not one of our five are stars. Neale, Andrews and maybe Zorko are probably All Australian
  13. Goodwin to Max. Take a load of your feet champ. Get behind big Preuss, see how he goes and then tell me how you two can work together in 2020
  14. Could you tell me our equivalent of Zorko Neale Andrews Robinson Cameron who are not playing.
  15. Nick Riewoldt was one of the best tall forward of his generation. He was also an athlete with great endurance. If I was Goody I would put in a call to Nick and give him a role with Weed and TMac. We have an enormous investment in those two and they both have a lot to learn about getting on their bike and leading to the flanks and wing. We accept both had poor games on the weekend. Imagine them being able to have a chat to Nick today to iron out a few little problems with their game style. Done properly it does not have to be at odds with the forward coaches plans.
  16. All ok Onion. Footy Clubs are interesting places as we all know. Something is not right this year. I have no idea what that really is but can imagine some of the rumblings. I just find it strange the silence from players around the second rate, no way beyond second rate, facility that is Goschs paddock. Hats off to the supporters that get to training, but you could not criticize anyone who does not want to stand in that windswept park. Forgetting the players for a moment, how many supporters are disadvantaged by the facility. No decent cover, seating, or toilets, wheelchair access parking nearby, questionable location for women and the elderly safety. All this contributes to a lack of club inclusiveness and atmosphere. I am sure of one thing players get a lift when they have good support at training. It is human nature. On a positive the best two things I ever saw as a Dee supporters was a full stadium , I think it was at the Junction, welcome to correct me the Thursday before our first finals appearance in 87. I have never seen the camaraderie, before our since and our lap around the G before the game two days later.
  17. No excuse but imagine being a player after the weekend and then having to back up and attend training at Goschs Paddock. Imagine you do not believe in Goodwins game plan but have to carry it out. Imagine you do not believe in Vineys crash and bash leadership style.
  18. I think Jones might be smart enough to understand he can squeeze in a few more years as a defender. I think it has merit. On the other hand I think Viney only knows one way and that is bash, crash chaos footy. A leader for earlier times but not todays footy. I did not like what may did yesterday, on the other hand if he was captain I would support it. He should put his hand up for 2020.
  19. He does not look happy or enjoying playing. He seems a very determined young man who has over committed to the physical side of training and playing at the expense of skills. It has got him so far, and yes last year he was a standout but will struggle without improved skill application. Take a look at his effort 30 metres out in the right forward pocket yesterday. He had no idea how to align his body to the goals-target and kick truly. Now if the coaches do not pick up on things like that then as an individual and a team we will never improve.
  20. Anyone like to see May a CHF for a game or two?
  21. Oh yeah, just imagine May being hard on fitness for young players.
  22. I would have rather seen May offering advice and tips to Petty. Word was the young players at GC were happy to see Mays back.
  23. You just know how this will all end. Pert, Bartlett, Goody will be gone in the medium term having achieved no success. In the meantime we get fed a fantasy by the Club.
