I think that is true. I have noticed many times new players or particularly players from other clubs come to us with attributes that they ultimately lose with us. Foremost of those players was the way Bernie Vince played in his first year with us. Not saying he was not a very good pick up in all his years with us but his Adelaide style and confidence really stood out in that first year.

I am somewhat optimistic If we finish the year having found Baker, Hore and one other as well as a fit May that will add four players to add to those coming back in. If we can do well in the 2019 draft we could be in shape for a good year in 2020. .

Good analysis but I only only see the following automatic, established selections-Salem, Lever, May, Jetta, Hibberd, Melksham, None of the others are established senior players with the exception of Lewis. All the rest have been in and out for one reason or another.

Yes, I am probably saying it in the context of going forward and that it is a positive in that they are two players we would not have had in the best 22 going forward at the start of the year.

I think we are the most 'confidence" reliant side in the competition and think this should be explored if it has not already by a professional. Perhaps it comes from a combined lack of individual confidence which is on display when we play poorly. Conversely when we hit our straps we play like few others. Its as if our guys are saying," wow, we are better than I thought. It was on display again today,

I was intrigued watching Stretch kick beautifully from 40 plus out in the last. It sailed through. I did not think he had the distance and wonder why he always does dinky kicks to little benefit. Tell him to take the game on and kick it long to advantage.

Baker could be one of our best in a year or two. Not racking up possessions yet but it will come. I am a massive fan and just hope we have someone who can relate to his game style and bring the best out of him. Future star.
