Hello to those on here who ridiculed me when I said there was likely something illegal going on with the security guards employment at the footy. Industry sources say many of the guards were on international student visas and required further references to obtain accreditation to work in the industry. Instead of doing that, they are said to have paid hundreds of dollars to a man police are now trying to locate who allegedly helped them falsify applications.

Yes, we entered a merger with the Bentleigh Club. So it is an asset although a very inflexible one as it would take the Members who are not MFC supporters based on how many people watch interstate games there to support any changes. It is very much a local community club. To make matters worse from a financial investment we will be taking out the pokies which hold the club up from 2022. On another note the venue is crying out for a smart young person to create a game day experience there on interstate match days.

I remember Surrey. Yeah that social club made money from somewhere.. My brother played there for what was very big dollars in the late 70s.

The Bentleigh Club is nowhere near big enough. It is a Club we had an arrangement with. We do not own it. As a matter of fact it was a hopeless relationship. They showed the match on an old grainy projector in a second rate room. I have been there when less than a dozen supporters watched interstate games.

To attract Council support and Government funding among other things you must push opportunities for girls and women to participate in sport and broader relaxation. You must provide non footy community facilities such as creches and other family friendly facilities. This thing requires imagination and co operation from a lot of stakeholders. Get it right and you set the Club up for decades of on and off field success. Forget world class medical facilities, its community, community every time.

It is a very random sample but views on here give support to a non MCG precinct development. I wonder to what extent the Club has canvassed supporter views of late on the issue and particularly in light of the Yarra park precinct falling over.

The desire to be inner city speaks to a particular audience that does not address the current reality. I would need to look closer at our history but what does the Melbourne in MFC stand for , the CBD area, the greater Melbourne area. or a particular type of City gentleman. Or was it just a clever name at inception. The reality was virtually no one lived in the CBD at inception and immediately out of the CBD we were surrounded by Sth Melbourne, Nth Melbourne, Carlton, Fitzroy, Collingwood and Richmond respectively. Hawthorn prospered moving to Waverly and will benefit again by moving to Keysborough. I think anything that does not massively incorporate community interests is bound to never live up to expectations and that is tremendously difficult to achieve when inner city land is so tight held and affords very limited community facilities.

Thanks, I forgot about him, which I should not have as I see him as a long termer. To expand on my thinking if we pick up another four next year again our depth and top 22 will be greatly improved.

Great for all the players, coaches and supporters to get a win. My wishes now are to win as many as we can, pretty obvious, but to also find four players for the year. It looks like we found May, Hore and Lockhart so far. Like to see at least one more put themselves forward for .next year.
