  1. Don't agree Short stints of Maxy in the forward line yes please but don't clog up the movement if BBB is on fire and Tmac performing. JVR will be ok either way.
  2. Agree Stinga good point. JVR won't be left behind or too much in the air as his ground work as displayed at Casey last season was a real strength. His ability to gather ground ball gets and forward them on by deft touches handballs plus his snaps for goal from some of those situations will surprise ( and thrill and delight us all ). This forward line beast can be all things to all forward contests and is never out of the game. With two mates in Fritta and Kossie skilled similarly he will add another dimension to our attack on any conditions as a further bonus. Goody please bring him on sooner rather than later. He is AFL ready both in mind and body and the MCG is ready to provide him with his playground and friends to come and play.
  3. Think Lachie is more finished and JJ is still improving. Both could be in our best 23.
  4. Grr-owl understood DS and replied. Point taken though.
  5. Fair enough good point Grr-owl
  6. Wonderful Report Furious. Sounds as though reviews and some soul searching have elicited some missing items in last years season especially in comparison to 2021, not just the fitness freshness angle that stood out. 2021 was always going to be bloody hard to replicate but that's what making subtle changes to the team helps keep all on their tows. I think their is collective agreement within the A team from last season that we were not as committed and unified as 2021 so it's great to see that this standard is already producing a greater overall standard that will undoubtedly be needed along with some tweaks and I think areas of greater player improvement which will make us a very hard team to beat when the whips are cracking. Fantastic report on Coaches Forum has me absolutely convinced we have taken our medicine last year and are hell bent on success this season. Can't wait to see us out on the G winning those last halves instead of falling short. Go Dees !!! Make 2023 our 14th Flag and rule this extraordinary bloody hard competition again. Love the sound of "The Reigning Premiers" or the written words also!!!
  7. Thanks Delightful Can't wait to your finalised report on the Training today. Every session brings up new options and prospects for Club to consider. Very good group of young players on the rise and about 10/12 A graders in the list if they return in top form or continue on their rise in our ranks.
  8. Agreed very informative. Think watchers should take into account this is the third training run ( I know others were light Capt Style runs to partially please the special fans who supported the boys so well) this week and some allowance for small jiggles etc is justifiable in match sim esp. But I have to admit I like the fair dinkum one on ones between aspiring backs and forwards and of course our proven stars and also the odd champs scattered on the field. Long May this lead our standards.
  9. What's Monash hit yo go with our home base?
  10. Can you list them Stinga? I add m a bit lazy and will try if you can't? Team of the giants!!!
  11. May not bolt into early round teams but by years end could have developed into HB flanker. One of the track watchers posted how smooth he looked going about his training along with another player who I can't remember. So I reckon he may be a bolter if he develops quickly. Has put on weight and let's just wait and see. Some youngsters can develop amazingly in one year with another pre season under their belt. Having predicted this the inside mail is on Taj taking the next step based on his training ethics which are very impressive. We must get some players out of the '21 draft. JVR looks the best but it's harder on a key position of course. Howes also has his admirers, but some are stupidly saying too light to get a game!!! Bowser was a few kilos on the light side and didn't stop him when he got his big unbeaten winning run of 17!! plenty of youngsters showing promise so Casey might be even better this year!!
  12. I reckon McVee May be the bolter! But how unlike is that for Goody.? No risk. That would be in 2 seasons ONlY 3 CHANGES from 2021 Grand Final. Jacko Jordon and Bowey OUT and Hunter Grundy and Van Rooyen IN. I don't like that it's only 3 and really hope that Jordon Bowey Chandler Howes Turner McVee and Wowoedin bridge the gap over the season and earn their place. I don't think JJ and Bowser have slipped and feel that form last year it was ANB Spargo and others like Lever and Salem who were played injured. Hibbo was fine in 2022 IMO contrary to one other poster. So Bowey Chandler and JJ or some new blood for ANB Spargo and Hibbo/Salem depending upon fitness and form.
  13. Far too generalised DW. We are not all parrots just copying each other. What was presented by many about our Finals campaign was common sense. Your astute comment is noted but really that's assuming astute people always make smart decisions. That was certainly not correct and in this case IMO and others and did not happen.
  14. What other Club would have Rivers Brayshaw Bowey and McVee as alternatives replacements or in their best 23 for their half back line. ? Having said that Salo is still the best disposer off half back and could still be missed if out for part of he season. I have no doubt any of the four will accept the challenge and be at their best if called upon. Angus could get nod with Riv and Bowser in the 23.
  15. DD if it was'nt my theory then OK why have so many Dees fans supported the theory that we should have used more players last season when clearly about a third of our 23 played injured and also some down on form. We know the results of the last half fade outs of the team and no attempt was really made to solve this issue.
  16. Is really an A grader now and vastly underrated by other Clubs fans. Great to watch his smooth class and skill as he boots the goals also.
  17. Probably either a friend/relative of Josh Schache or Lachie Hunter. Not too difficult to guess I would say. That sort of backs up David King's post about a month ago of our intensity in our training being elite from all he has seen.
  18. I actually think the evidence is there to see. His refusal to give some players a go last year was so disappointing especially as we had some players injured and others tired and past best. Must not happen again this year we must use our full list and keep players on edge fighting for positions.
  19. Kossie and Fritta say HI BBB and Tmac when fit say HI JVR says give me a go!! ANB Spargs say we'll be better this year Chandler says just please give me a go also!!!
  20. DZ Curiously you didn't pull up Demonland correcting this mistake as second in line to do so!!! Third up is a bit too far for your patience.
  21. How come a critical error in fact is made then afterwards?
  22. Agree that flexibility is king and your examples are good and sensible. BUT Tommo was a spare parts player for GWS and we gouncc do that he didn't come up to scratch as a winger. If he recovers or improves his flexibility and paces key defensive post as depth is his for the taking behind May Petty snd Turner or Adams who may need half a season at least because of pre season delays. ( Lever not really a KPD but very valuable interceptor)
