Round 23 Non MFC Games
Geelong should have beaten them, Essendon could have over run them in the last quarter, the dogs should have beat them today, we played 3 & 1/2 quarters of good footy against them before we fell away, Collingwood played 3 quarters before they too fell away, Carlton gave them a right hot scare at the start of the season, North and Hawthorn were others that gave a good challenge. The tiges winning streak should have been snapped up ages ago. Richmond are beatable at the G and no longer should any side be fearful of them.

Round 23 Non MFC Games

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 23

The Ox reaction to yesterday's win!
what a reaction, what a player, what a good bloke. there would have been lots of emotional responses in demon lounge-rooms all across Aus. lets hope the boys can give him and his son something to cheer about come September.

Brendon Goddard
we already have an old geriatric (Lewis) to yell instructions to teammates, (and give the umpire a serve if we need it)

Round 23 Non MFC Games
Does anyone know who we want to win out of Hawthorn and Sydney?
-
Dean Kent, Aaron Vandenberg and Mitch Hannan
All three add a lot to our team, more so Vanders but Hannan and Kent always seem to be in the right spots and are constantly dangerous inside 50. Kent's first half was not great but he worked his way into it and showed us why he was selected. looking forward to seeing all three at the G against GWS.
-
Changes v GWS Giants
agreed, unless Spargo has a shocker against GWS, it will be hard for Jeffy to regain a spot which is annoying because he has been a big part in our rebuild but at the moment he is lacking the forward half pressure that we desperately need
-
Changes v GWS Giants
spargo on thin ice, possibly replaced by garlett or bugg jack viney, please get your bloody foot right for september...

Umpiring v West Coast in Perth
i guess we should just accept a 5 goal head start to West Coast because of corrupt umpiring.

What is the point?
definitely have not had to endure the pain for as long as others in this thread however i totally understand the pain of being an MFC supporter. After a bad loss i promise myself to never watch another Melbourne game again, never go to the G again, never talk about footy again, never play footy again and throw away anything that distinguishes me as a Melbourne supporter. but after 24 hours of mourning and going through the seven stages of grieving, i realise that i am still proud to be a Melbourne fan, and i will watch the game next week with just as much enthusiasm and hope. that is what being a Melbourne fan is all about, you get pushed down put you just have to keep picking yourself up. believe me i have been very cynical before regarding MFC, i even once consider changing clubs but i just couldn't because i love this club too much, even if they give me an elevated heart rate every week. MFC forever!!!!!!!!!!

Changes v West Coat - Round 22
Out: Hunt(probably injured), Spargo In: Melksham, Hibberd, (maybe JKH or Garlett for Hannan or Kent) what do other people think?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Firstly, Hogan is playing injured and should have been rested for the Gold coast match. Secondly, every player has a bad day, sure a FF should not miss from 20 metres out slight angle, but that is footy and that is life. no need to overreact he has had some really good games for us this year and games in past seasons. everyone should just calm down.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 21
Melbourne are pretenders. Every time they get an opportunity they crumble under pressure. We still have to win 1 game but I don't see it happening. Hogan should go, can't kick for goal and he is a FF. Tmac is looking wobbly in front of goal. Lack of leadership by Jones lewis and co. I want to blame the umpires but I can't, 5 or so wasted opportunities in the last ten minutes and woeful kicking all day long. Book your September holidays folks, the Melbourne demons will finish 9th again. Prove me wrong melbourne.

GAMEDAY - Round 21
the fans know how big this is, Goody knows how big this, the players know how big this. lets hope they have the belief in themselves and the hunger and desire to play finals footy. also, what a great cause that this game will support, looking forward to a great clash in which i hope, pray and want the dees to get up. Come on Melbourne!!!!!!
