If lifes baggage is a heavy as a ships cargo, lighten the load by following Charlie Spargo (work in progress; don't give up my day job)
  2. I thought it was a cliche back in the 70's - as in a player has struggled the whole preseason but 10 days out from game 1 some unknown club functionary is quoted as saying 'He will be cherry ripe for round 1'
  3. Could we get his head through the door. Bucks might struggle not being head banana. Remember Barass and Jordan both trying to coach from the bench?
  4. I remember Ted standing on the wing with 2 Richmond players. One of them goaded Ted. Ted obliged. There was much blood. The other Richmond player just looked at his team mate and dismissively waved him to the bench.
  5. Now tell us how you really feel.
  6. Agree. Tomlinson a late in for lever, Melks the sub. Not sure why Mitch Brown is in the squad.
  7. Essentially yes as we didnt fluke the win, we built a strong list, club and strategy over a period of time. So we know the method. I am much more relaxed about footy and the win has lessened my enjoyment of the game because most of the other teams appear to be sub standard. And the games we play are not exciting in that we get comfortably ahead and strangle the opposition.

Like with all player rating systems I can totally comprehend the herbs and spices but the rest is just a mystery.....
  9. Agree. It took Goody a couple of seasons to get the players to buy in, and that requires patience and an ability to relate, especially to younger players. Noble is 9 years older than Goody so I doubt he will be successful, should have been head of the football dept instead. Don't blame JHF for going elsewhere and if his father gets a job at another club it is on.....😀
  10. Well he is 34. Probably should be rested permanently.
  11. What with Mothers Day and other celebrations have just watched the replay : Kozzie could have won the game in the first quarter Ryder is a good match up for Gawn TMc looked like a champion (which is a worry for ST Kilda) Fritta had another lucklustre game Jordon not noticed then everywhere Jay and Zac don't like each other Charlie Spargo Backs played very high up the ground, hence goals to Rivers and Brayshaw Commentators comdey hats were well and truly on by implying that the Saints losing by only 38 points was a win. (Shades of NZ 'winning' the 2010 World Cup.) This time we kicked the goals in junk time.
  12. So underrated I dont even know who Burns is
  13. I would replace Bowie with Bowey and Jordan with Jordon. Salem can replace Brayshaw and Tomlinson can be a workman like replacement for Petty
  14. Jones hit Oliver in the chest and so it wasnt high, but of medium impact and i will say that the force of the blow surprised Oliver. The dump on Langdon was dangerous though in Jones defence it happened in a split second. Funny enough though most players seem able to avoid doing that. The response of the umpire and Langdons team mates was professionally appropriate. Being the younger brother of club legend N Jones, it was a very poor act that dishonoured the family name.
  15. Nervous as all hell. (I hated mothers day; something always came 'unstuck' and then it was on....)
  16. In fairness to, or explanation of, Mark Neeld I was under the impression that he was given the brief to turn the place upside down. Unfortunately he did more than that, he levelled it. A dramatic failure of the club at almost every level.
  17. How does it compare with : 'Chris Johnson is going to be a gun' (I dont know who posted it but it has stuck in my head)
  18. The club was broke. A very significant factor in JNs appointment was that he was the cheapest.
  19. I believe Jonesy did play for him.
  20. Dogs missing E Wood 😁

Can I say 'Get it done now'?
  23. Smith Goodwin Daniher Northey Ridley
  24. I'm struggling here. Bring the heat in the old days was bring a linament to apply on certain muscles. Are you proposing something under hand? Embrace - is this legal under covid guidelines? Employ the air - I had to ring T White as my vax certificate had not been updated. They had forgotten to push it into the air. As this the air you mean. Control scoring - Im not touching this though i was very good at nil all.
