Richmond had fumbles, couldn't hold a forward area mark, couldn't score on Geelongs turnovers and had passengers. Geelong forced errors onto the tiges and wanted it more. No roar from the tiges in the third, they got rolled. Counter attack footy doesn't work. Possession of the football in the forward area takes pressure of the backline. Ruck craft killed the undersized man.

Two changes to their four, they will have a disrupted forward and back-line. Our depth is looking good. Will they train, and play (VFL) Majak as a back? Hope Petty does enough, should get a good run at it, at least 3, 4 games. I expect him to slide smoothly into a successful and well established system down back. Lever will set the orders, as he wouldn't want his 100th game spoilt, starve Franklin. It will be a good midfield battle. Jones as medical sub, 302. Go Dees.

C'mon Dees, take that "anger" out on the Swan. Pluck the feathers and give them a roasting. Effort is needed, run, get the ball before them and use it. If they have it, bring the heat, don't allow them time or space. Simple, basic, we will have the pill, more often and longer then them. Media have high hopes for the Swans and those expectations will exhaust them, they have won before a ball is bounced. No saviours, Buddy is in decline, as is Parker, Hickey and Kennedy. Blakey, Heeney and Reid are good players though inconsistent. It will be left up to the younger players who are guzzling the bathwater, the bubbles and the empsom salts, and can't carry the weight of the game. Big win for the Dees.

Pushed at the boundaries, and went well over. Don't like that innuendo. Can you ask the mods to delete it please.

Have they acted, or just acknowledged? The article says, "an announcement is expected in coming weeks". https://www.afl.com.au/news/607851/push-for-thursday-night-teams-reveal-gathering-ceo-steam

Would like to see all teams posted 2 days before games. Being a team that usually gets the Sunday slots, we are most of the time, waiting on the eve of the game to know the selections. This leaves hardly any time to discuss, analyse and criticise. Instead, we spend too much time hypothesising. Thursday games post Tuesday 6.30 pm, Friday games could post Wednesday 6.30pm, may be problematic, though the Sunday team would know who it is selecting on the Friday night. I hope they make logical decisions about team postings and adjust with more than the Thursday night announcements. Addit, they propose that Sunday teams be announced on Friday, Thursday would be squad posts. Would love, more time to hear the social network brain trust's thoughts on match ups, wrong selections, possible rearrangements, the game plan, and the general expectations of the team.

I feel the same way. What a relief, as not as much disruption to our game, thanks MFC for appealing.

Enjoy being top, we are not the bottom, nor wearing uncomfortable type footwear.
-
My guess, if top of ladder, we are not acting like it is the bottom.

A bit of sarcasm puts strains on my enthusiasm.

Starting a conspiracy thought bubble there Doug.

Beaten by the dogs in the first two quarters. The dogs drank from the bath and Richmond played a good 3rd quarter. One, maybe two quarters is not really drum beating. Maybe when they are at full strength, their mojo may come back. At the moment they are middle of the road and have to fight hard for wins. The Dogs got found out. Mental weakness, which we aren't showing this year. We are playing for the 120 minutes (North aberration), unlike other years, when we relied on a couple of good spurts. Hope that they are perceived as the team to emulate and beat. We can fly under the radar. Though they would all love us to drop a game and then falter. I can't see us doing a mid-season collapse We are looking good. Doing well, converting the inside 50's to scores and with the stats that are important this season. We are hard to beat. Keep rolling along Dees.

Agree, especially Heeney, he is having a huge impact. Need someone to stop him having a clear run up at the ball when in the marking contest.

Each to their own scaling and thoughts. Keep those thoughts flowing. I am interested. Just hope your adjudication is wrong.

Not sure Sydney will be too confident given the statistics of their game against the Cats, and got lucky (20m). +1 How well can they play at the MCG is up for debate. +1 Jackson and Pickett have been playing consistently. +1 Our midfield is to be feared. +1 Baker didn't effect the game against North negatively. 0 @dee-tox put your money on the Dees, +2 We are the strongest in the comp, until proven otherwise. Sydney are middle range, though moving up.

We are training with a smile, 7 nil and not too much media attention. Collingwood get the media all rattled whether they win or lose. Dogs got the build up and see what happened, not up to the pressure and not a strong enough back-line. We are flying along, North showed us a glimpse that they can make the opposition look ordinary. Glad we played well in the 2nd half. 1st half showed us that we need to be able to get the ball. That should be a priority at training this week. Sydney don't need to get much of the ball to do damage. Can they operate when the opposition isn't giving them space and don't give them a 5 meter start? I would expect shoulder to shoulder defense on a few of their forwards. Florent needs to be stopped, Hickey to be muscled and Papley watched in case he seizes the moment. If Franklin plays, we need someone to stop his movement if he gets the ground ball. Their young players are going to be inconsistent, though nothing like the exuberance of youth to surprise us. Could be part of the joy of watching them, Rowbottom, Mclean, Warner, Gulden, Mills, our young ones are better. We are at the G, and so far we have been playing it well. Sydney played at the SCG, a smaller ground, therefore will need to adjust their game. They will have a bit of confidence, though losing the inside 50's does not bode well for them, 39 to 65, plus alot of the other stats, lost. They have been marking well, but so have we, marking will be another interesting aspect and contest. Confidence for a young team is compelling and they should come out strong against us. They can also fight back from being behind, as they showed against the cats, "it ain't over till it's over". I think we are stronger, taller, faster and smarter then them. Geelong underestimated them and drank some of their bathwater after crushing West Coast. We won't do the same. Looking forward to a team that could challenge us at times in the match, and our response to that. I think the change in team line ups are important for our development through the season. It will give us more options and the ability to mix up the game plan. I imagine those who come in, want to prove themselves and grasp the opportunity. We are in a good place to have that done, even though the changes have been forced, because we have depth. I expect us to be rolling along without much disruption Go Dees.

If marked, should create a 50 penalty, for unduly rough play, a free if not marked. Same as deliberately hitting the body of a player, when they both fall to the ground. The earn it stuff should be old schooled, and discouraged. Addit: They should be training with a smile on their dials again. Nothing like happiness to help form stronger bonds.

On Viney, he had a hot spot on a big toe. Possibly not as bad as a hot spot in his troublesome foot area. Out: Fritta, good chance he is suspended. Heavy hits to the head need to be stamped out, even if unintentional. His eyes did look at the opponent. Will be missed, as he is the forward most likely at the moment. Tomlinson Baker, good depth player. Needs a bit more, team first stuff, and to fix up his lobed/slow kicks. In: Weids, big boots to fill with Fritta possibly out. Hoping he and BBB click. Sparrow, need the big body, in, under and around to replace Viney's efforts. Petty, knows the backline system better than Tmac. Jones to be the medical sub again. Knows what is needed when/if, he comes on.

Our clearances need work, stoppages as well as centre work. Taps to advantage could be much better. When do we shark the oppositions taps? I think it could be a focus this week at training. Can't give Sydney as much ball. They are very efficient when they have it.

The percentage is accumulative, over the home and away season. Points for divided by points against. (Multiplied by 100) Number of games won or lost is irrelevant.
-
Maybe the directive is to make sure it is over 15. Could be because of the howler missed for Cameron (Cats) playing against the Swans in the dying seconds. They don't want the wingers to go at them. Though they probably will. Sook off Geelong.

Well done Dees, turned it around again. Good pressure, kept running, and out-muscled them. Good change by the coaches. Put a stoper on Cunnington, I think it was Brayshaw. Created a hold it in, in the forward area, and rebounded it back in when they punced it out. North gave us some turnovers with poor skills and perceived pressure, after half time. Oliver fights his tag, and gets his kicking game going. Jackson best game to date. Stood up when Maxy struggled. Salem came into the game. Tmac is so flexible. Can play anywhere. Thought Baker did alright. He will be better when his passes go quicker to the free players. Worried about Melksham and ANB, they need to be quicker with decisions and actions. You would think that experienced players would know the pace required! Well done, Kossie and Fritta. Jordon, Jones (director of the mids) solid games. The Trac is hard to stop. Eventually we started getting the clearances. Langdon great game, always beats his opponent, gives a target and runs the ball well. Rivers, Hibbo, May and Lever stood up when needed. Won in the second half, when North fell off the pace they set earlier. Top of the ladder, no losses, we will be hunted now. Back to the G!

Passengers everywhere, pick up your man at least. Get some clearances. Get the ball. Find some space, too much straight kicking, need the angles. C'mon Dees.
-
We will get plenty of opportunities, so would love to see us be accurate. Defense to continue the intercepts. Plenty of marking and swarm running. Get the ball and control it. Go Dees

Jones as medical sub to get to 301. Use the vets as a sub. Will show leadership from the bench, more then any other player. If he comes on, could have a better understanding of where the game is at and what role to play, than a less experienced player. Get games into the less experienced, even at VFL level. Stable team selections. Winning form, is good form, hard to be deselected. A credit to fitness and biometrics staff, that we have minimal, injuries and player management. A few knocking on the door for a call up. Go Dees.
