  1. Live and let live. Cannot control them and attempting to just makes it worse for everyone. If bad, call the stadiums staff. I hate seeing and hearing toxic men going at each other. Annoying is better than angry.
  2. WOW. You like arguments and putting people in their places. I am off to the bottom of your pecking order, master superior, ruler of the stadium.
  3. Running commentary, so what. If only Melbourne supporters would chirp all match long. Footy is about being in a conflictual environment, learning sportsmanship, having consensus and participating with others whose action may be opposite to yours. Without our ability to cooperate within the competition then we wouldn't even have sport. Tribal, though in it together. As for people who you don't like, so what get over it. That's what being out in the market place entails. You also chose to engage which probably wasn't in a calming way, but an antagonistic way. Plenty of learning's there, which wouldn't be available if isolated. So that person irritated you. Control is not possible, only influence. You are the only person you can control. There will be one in every crowd. You could develop skills to create an optimal environment in the market place. The loud mouth gave you the opportunity to do that. Arguments will only make it uncomfortable for both of you and others around you. Figure out a better way to engage and influence in order to get closer to what you want in the engagement.
  4. We need to practice taking it on, including Max. Drag the oppo to the boundary and leave some of us by themselves in the corridors. Get them before they transition to the defensive structure. Have or create corridors, when we cause turnovers. Kick to leads and not regularly to the contested boundary side pack. I'm sure they do that stuff, but recently we have not been executing it well and our main playing style has been about safety. We need practice and continual repetition till we get the timing and positions right, as well as seeing and assessing the risks correctly.
  5. Would like to see them take it on up the middle effectively. They need the practice. Maybe just dig around the boundaries and in particular the forward pockets.
  6. It's all razzle dazzle for most, and then nepotism for the lucky. They sell emotions, and the best place to be (to avoid buying hot air) is as an insider. For us, we have to use our nouse. Work hard, to make the decision based on an interpretation of the information available.
  7. The same website I have been watching, now indicates there will be showers, anyone's guess,. My guess, it will be a slippery night for the players, and undercover seating will be best for viewing, if no ponchos are availed.
  8. I mentioned earlier in this thread that a long range weather forecast predicted showers on Friday. Now that same site has, "light cloud and moderate winds", no showers. @WalkingCivilWar Weather is anyone's guess.
  9. Wasn't it great how focused he was. When he puts his mind to it, beautiful. The rest can learn how important goals are in finals and how to use the will to get everything right. Melksham and ANB both play as forwards and their craft has to be solid. Head over, drive the ball like they own it, and snaps have to follow the eyes. Disappointed, mids are good to score but the bread and butter are the forwards.
  10. I went by at 9.30 am, no one there. Good chance they had a run at 11.30.(Monday) on Gosch's, which I couldn't make. If we win Friday, I'll give it another go and try and catch them with a report next week. They will probably have their main session down at Casey on Wednesday morning. They have an open training Thursday on Gosch's, the same as last week with all the activities. (More info on the MFC website, in the "finals hub" section)
  11. Tried to get to the training this morning (Monday). Went past at 9.30 am. Must have been an 11.30 start.
  12. There is also a good chance of showers, according to the long term weather forecasts.
  13. No information yet as to where they are playing the Melbourne v Brisbane VFL preliminary. Hoping for a double header on Friday, at the G. Expecting, Saturday down at Casey. Nothing on the VFL website.
  14. I saw Viney leaving AAMI Park at around 11.30 am (Sunday), they are working on "it". I'll have another look tomorrow morning.
  15. With the fracture, the impacts from collisions and kicking would have to cause pain. If he can kick well let him play. With the cork, he will play if his gait is not restricted. Tough player, I wouldn't want to be the person informing him, if he is to be omitted.
  16. Ignore him, give him nothing, could gee him up. Focus on us.
  17. No training session today, unless they already had their run
  18. I was more of the opinion for how we don't play the G well. I started watching the replay this morning and as they ran through the banner boo's came through the cheers. I am glad we aren't a booing crowd. That noise does carry and the players would hear it. We boo only when a mongrel act or howler of ump decision. So I don't think it is that we have less vocal supporters, it is the tone of boo that makes it feel that way. The home field will galvanise us, though will we sound more vocal? They players have suggested that they feel supported at the G. Big week, go Dees. Addit: off now for my morning walk and to see if the team is training on Gosch's.
  19. We haven't played take it on footy well for some time. The game has evolved into that frenetic game of, hit the player to open up the field in order to score especially after turnovers. Some players cannot do it, either there timing is out, the skills aren't good enough or they aren't in the right field position. They also don't baulk and shimmy so that they aren't easily read. It is something that needs development and to think we can turn it on we the require it is naive. We had to be trying different styles of play throughout the H & A, instead of a contested and safe game. You could see that we were told to take it on early yesterday and after a few failed attempts we went back into our kick to the contest down the line style.
  20. The Dogs drank the bathwater with five to go, weak willed lack the ruthlessness. I thought Freo weren't going to score in the first half of a home final. Both poor.
  21. What a turn around. Cannot let up in finals. Doggies had 4 or 5 entries into their forward 50 with no result. They were coasting, then in the 4 minutes prior to the end of the quarter. Counter attacks, Dog's not scoring from the entries and the momentum. WOW
  22. Turned the game.
  23. Looks like Longmuir has given up. Their game plan must be shot
  24. Long way back for the Docks. Collingwood could be worried by the blitz that is the Dogs.
