  1. Bub, if the umpires did their job properly, every hit to the back of the head ( which is supposed to be sacrosanct) should earn Max a free kick - and it would soon stop. But I do agree that standing up to a bully once is generally all that is needed.
  2. I think booing Jacko will only spur him on. I don’t want to give him any advantage over us.
  3. I applaud your positivity Binman, and your condemnation of the collective football media. While there is nothing (thankfully) that you can do about your positivity, if you didn’t watch these afl review programs, the media will not be able to “[censored] you to death” as you state - simples. But just a couple of points on your post: - I think you’ll find that in 2016, the Dogs were 7/3, rather than 6/4; 2019, Tiges were 7/3, not 6/4; and 2020, Tiges were 6/3/1, not 5/4/1. - So in fact only 3 teams in 10 years, not 7 as you suggested, won the premiership from a 6/4 or worse position ( which I assume is what you are calling “not much better than 50/50”). So I’d proffer that, statistically, you are in a much better position of winning the premiership if you had only lost a max of 3 games after 10 rounds. And fortunately that’s where we are at the moment. - if the afl media is questioning the Dees as a contender, so what? They probably have a right to given our record of 4/3 against, as Kingy puts it, the “real teams”. That aside, I would much rather fly under the radar than be a Pies-like headline. In the end, if we are good enough, we are good enough, if we are not, we are not. Not a lot of point getting our nickers in a knot about a [censored] media who are only doing their [censored] job. So chill, and enjoy the season on your terms.
  4. Er, we’ve been talking draft picks ( Freo’s) since the start of the year!
  5. Admit it WCW. It was you!
  6. And for you also it seems. (message bank full?)
  7. Strange to say, but I think Oliver’s injury should see a much more dynamic and proactive Sparrow in the mid. I think he tends to hold back to allow Oliver to do his thing, so I think more responsibility at the clearances will likely see his game evolve.
  8. Has anyone considered that he may have a health issue that requires his full attention?
  9. Why is the sky falling in when we don't even know the results of the scan yet?
  10. But there is more: Meanwhile, Yartapuulti captain Tom Jonas has also been banned for a match for rough conduct on Tom McDonald. Christian Salem was fined $3000 for tripping Jason Horne-Francis, while Ollie Lord and Jack Viney both copped $3000 fines for rough conduct. is that the TMac incident where Jonas got the free kick?
  11. NARRM recruit Lachie Hunter has been suspended for one match for his high bump on Connor Rozee. The MRO cited Hunter for forceful front-on contact, deeming the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
  12. I wish I could be as positive as you are about our team AF. All I’ve seen this year is us whipping the easy beats and getting beaten by top sides. I see us getting creamed at the clearances, predominately poor disposal skills, a forward line that gets comfortably beaten by the better sides, and a backline being worked out by opposition coaches of the better sides. I’m as optimistic as the next guy, but not seeing much to reinforce that optimism. And I have to ask - is it the quality of our players that is lacking, or is it the game plan, coaching or game day coaching that is causing us these issues? It has to be one or the other doesn’t it?
  13. No Jaded, it’s the haircut. He’s been Sampsoned.
  14. While I’m not suggesting anything at all, but since it’s inception, how’s the win loss ratio for Narrm going?
  15. Could also possibly mean that he was just incredibly happy to see you WCW! Whatever, I just hope you haven’t put the moz on him. If he plays badly tonight we’ll know where to look.
  16. Read the room Hawk. This is not the time or the place for a political comment. You never seem to learn.
  17. Steven May - 200 out of the way; now only 23 more before he has played 100 for MFC, and his offspring become father son / daughter material.
  18. What an amazing social life you have WCW.
  19. I suppose Eddie was just as vocal when his beloved thugs attacked Jack Watts in his first game? What a f’ing hypocrite.
  20. At what age were your sons when you taught them to sew WCW?
  21. We all hoped JVR would develop and become a game changer for us - seems he could become a real game changer for a whole set of other reasons now as well. His profile has certainly enlarged over the last week.
  22. I have no issue at all with the AFL trying to make the game safer - as long as interpretations are clear to all, consistent and are done / instigated pre-season ; and as long as the core fabric of our game ie the contest is not taken away. Making up BS rules and interpretations mid-season, on the fly, is just pathetic and so amateurish. The AFL should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Let's hope common sense prevails tonight. Please free Roo.
  23. Couldn’t agree more Red. And as this has the potential to change our game, we should elicit the support of the other 17 clubs to attack this ridiculous verdict at the Appeal. We cannot let our game be Rooyened.
  24. It’s taken me a while to get my head around why we don’t seem concerned about losing clearances, particularly the center clearances. Then I look at how poorly Trac and Clarry generally deliver the ball when rushed at centre clearances, and it helps me understand the logic. Unless it’s in Kossie’s or Tom Sparrow’s hands, I think I’d prefer to see us lose this clearance.
  25. What is evident from that behind-the-goals video is that Jacob, after his spoil effort, still managed to bend his elbow in an attempt to lift his arm over Ballard’s head. If he had not done that he would have taken Ballard’s head clean off. To me that shows a duty of care to Ballard.
