Match preview and team selection - Round 3
Forward pressure is the answer. Hannan floats in and out of games and from game to game. He will play one very good 3 goal game, two ordinary one goal some impact games, another one goal little impact game and two poor hardly touching the ball games. He needs to make it 2 very good games, 2 good, an ordinary and a poor, then he’s worth it!

Changes v North Melbourne
Hunt has been the same since he knocked himself out! Either give him a rest or hoping he finds confidence in the twos. Still I would have gone Frost in for Wagner, and left Pedo at CHF.
-
Pedersen v Weideman this weekend
Pedersen can’t afford to have bad games and vs Lions he was poor and just fair against the Cats. still thought he may have got one more week.

Match preview and team selection - Round 3
Frost for Pedersen, hard to see Frost forward, can provide Ruck backup to Max. Maybe Frost will play back and they play Petracca at FF or CHF! Then Kent for Hunt (who is out of form, but dropped ahead of the headless chook Wagner) I would have given Hunt one more week & dropped Wagner! Hopefully Kent brings his form from last week, but it was against a VFL scratch team! What about Brayshaw, maybe his attitude in the practice game went against him! I get Frost, not so much Kent, but surprised on the outs!

Jeff Garlett, give him some love.
Any small-mid size forward who kicks 40 plus a year and provides tackling pressure is a must. Jeffy G is a gun. Would be great to see any of ANB, Harmes, Melksham, Fritsch kick 40 plus for the Dees.

Changes v North Melbourne
Kent’s best is good, but I think he needs to do more than play a practice match against the newest VFL scratch team and kick 4. 2/3 good games should be a prerequisite!

Changes v North Melbourne
I knew someone would come back with they beat us twice last year. We got royally screwed at the “G” by the umpires, I recall Cunnington smashing Vince in the guts in front of the umpire & he got nothing, that was just typical of what happened. We play well and for four quarters we win, wins and percentage across the season are a good indicator of the difference in teams, and we won twice as many games and had a significantly better percentage last year, and I can’t see where they are better, we have Hogan and Petracca who have both stepped up significantly and even OMac. Plus odds are we must eventually beat North!!

Changes v North Melbourne
North don’t have Ablett or Selwood, that was a key component of why Geelong won, combined with a poor performance from half of the Demons players. If Melbourne front up and play well, we win. If we are asleep for a quarter and have too many players not put in, we lose. North were near the bottom last year for a reason and haven’t recruited any superstars, we should win!

3 Good Things v Brisbane
1. Hogan’s continued improvement 2. Jeff G coming good after last week 3. We won, maybe not the greatest win, but we got the 4 points

Changes v North Melbourne
They played on a flooded ground and Saints were 2.10 @ half time, don’t give them too much credit!

Clarry better start than Judd?
Totally different players , Judd was a jet, higher impact and pack escaping speed, Oliver is already a gun, ball magnet, great vision, clean, and Oliver seems to play well every week, can’t remember another Demon who has done that over the last 50 years. I look forward to watching him star for Dees over the next decade. He has a few mates in Petracca, Hogan, Gawn and Viney.

Changes v North Melbourne
Wagner has one big problem, when he gets the ball he either turns it over or picks the wrong option and puts another player immediately under pressure. I would prefer Frost, who has speed and occasionally breaks the game open, running through the line. He also gets caught and disposal is iffy, but would always pick him in front of Wagner. Would like to see Brayshaw come in, possibly for Hunt who seems injured or restricted in some way at the moment! Only two changes, you need to give guys at least a few weeks to settle into the season. To those who will say Wagner only got two weeks, he played AFLx, 2 by JLT and first two AFL matches, would love to be proved wrong but he looks the same as always to me, NQR!

Post Match Discussion - Round 2
St Kilda were disgraceful and didn’t chase or even break into a gallop all day, it’s easy to look quick when nobody is chasing you! We will see how good North is next week, they lost the week before. At some point we will beat North it should have been last year, hopefully it is next week.

Angus Brayshaw
After multiple concussions and then wisdom teeth out, having one week out and then a run in the twos makes sense. Would be good to see him get half a dozen games in the ones, as part of centre rotation, and see what he can do. He deserves an injury free season, so we can see what he can deliver.

Changes v North Melbourne
Agree a few good performances in the twos are required before getting back into the ones, and Frankston will be close to the worst VFL team, so wouldn’t get to carried away by one weeks performances by a number of players. Two changes after any game is about as many as should happen, with exception of injuries. Agree with Frost for Wagner and I don’t think we can have Lewis and Vince in the team together. Would like to see Brayshaw come in and get given half a dozen games. I only saw last 15 mins and highlights from last night, but Lewis looked poor. In: Frost Brayshaw Out: Wagner Lewis A few players on watch include Salem (doesn’t do enough week in week out), Hunt (is he injured), ANB (not doing enough).

Injury List - Season 2018
Demons will do a much better job covering Viney, TMac, Lewis, Tyson and ANB, than the Cats will do with Dangerfield & Ablett!

Tom McDonald - Ready to Re-sign?
Your hard to please Hot as Hell. How about we sign Tom, then independently sign Oscar for free!

Obvious two for one deal. Sign Tom and Oscar comes free!

List Analysis Potential v Reality
See where we stand at the end of 2018. Another pre season and 20 more games into Oliver, Hogan, Petracca and Lever, plus injury free seasons for Max and Jack, the Demons will have their fair share of A graders!

List Analysis Potential v Reality
Agree, he takes some great marks, competes hard, seems to have a really good attitude, but perhaps his consistency issue relates to being good, but possibly not quite good enough. But is okay as a depth player. He played a few really good games last year and hopefully can do the same next year when he gets a chance.
