One of the fantastic things about the Demons awesome flag victory is no matter what happens during the day since Sept 25, I’m only 3 mins 30 seconds from being deliriously happy again, that snapshot of our 7 goals in the third is just pure joy: Harmes to Fritsch then Fritsch Followed by BBB Brayshaw (unbelievable courage) Trac - pure skill Sparrow - - great goal of a step in a phone booth Clarry / Jacko handball perfection I’m not sure if we will ever see a better trio of goals, than the last three in 30 plus seconds to finish the quarter! Sept 25 to now - everyday has a happy ending 😃

Reading about ball movement at lightening speed is exciting. While it would be hard to play better than some of what we produced across all the finals, especially the 100-7 finish in the GF, the Tigers improved after winning the 2017 GF, as their players confidence lifted and they just believed. It is a scary thought for the rest of the competition if we improve on our finals efforts, as none of the finalists got close to us, Lions being lucky to lose by only 31 points due to our poor goal kicking. Bring on 2022!

Just listened to the season ending podcast and wanted to say thanks to Andy, George & Binman for the excellent insights and summaries they provided across the year! I’m looking forward to hearing them again in 2022 as the Demons keep on a winning roll! Hopefully there is a season preview coming up in the near future and a five round update on the AFLW team would be handy! Go Demons in 2022!

Hunt was very stiff to get injured. In 2021, he defended better, closed down opponents exceptionally well, and teamed with Langdon on many occasions to stream the ball downfield. His ball use improved and I think he provides a little bit of flexibility re he could cover the wing or go forward if needed. Great to see Hibberd win a flag, but he will be under pressure to retain his spot in 2022, other than I like him guarding Dusty against the Tigers. Covid will impact our starting lineup across the year if EPL is any guide, so have 30 plus who can play in the firsts will be more important than in any other season!

Just watched Fritsch 59, Kossie 40 and Max’s minor premiership sealer to round out 100 brilliant goals! what a great season, let’s back it up in 2022!

Give Weideman a full pre season no injuries and see how he goes in 2022. Like Viney who had a much better run with injuries in 2021 and finals form was great.

I’m with you fellow Demonlanders! From 44 points down against Cats to TMac final goal was just fantastic! Only ever 3 mins from brightening any day, but watching our 3rd qtr charge! never stop celebrating! players on other hand sound like their right back onto 2022! 👍

Absolutely! In middle Max, Trac, & Oliver - Viney a top 4th! FB - May & Lever HB - Salem Wings - Langdon & Brayshaw HF - Fritsch FF - BB & Pickett Add Jackson 5 All Australians another 4 in Fritsch, Salem, Langdon & Pickett who could have been picked and after the GF, Jackson would get on the bench! Most talented Demon team by quite a bit. Then add the youth not mentioned above: Rivers, Bowey, Petty, Sparrow, Spargo & Jordan! Depth in 22 - TMac, Harmes, ANB, Hibberd Future is brilliant!

Makes me feel better seeing others still waiting, received beanies, scarves, mugs, fridge magnets, just waiting on t-shirt and signed jumper/poster! Seeing draw come out is good, not that long until we unfurl our new flag!

During the week someone posted all the Demons player grand final highlights - where did it go? After the GF another poster highlighted all the articles, radio interviews, alternate calls of the game etc. - where did it go? Is there a way on Demonland to tag favourites? Over two months since GF and watching the ‘7’ in the 3rd brings ultimate joy! Looking forward to tomorrow at the ‘G’!! Any assistance greatly appreciated with above questions.

Hopefully Weideman gets a full pre season this year and next year, then judge him! when you look at the list and ages, we have great coverage all over the ground for next year. If the young kids continue to improve, and we have a good run with injury, adding in the belief instilled by a great final series and a flag, 2022 should be another great season. When you work through our three finals matches, pretty much every player had one or more very good games, so team and individual belief should be sky high. Add the guys knocking on the door like Hunt, Tomlinson, Jordan, and Melksham puts us in a fantastic position!

The way the Demons have handled winning as a club, it puts us in a great position to have a ripping crack again in 2022!

Nearly two months later and something extra pops up to read, to listen or watch, whether it’s Goody on RSN, a Demonlanders joy, or even the player season highlights countdown, this season can never end! I love Kayo mini’s, only ever 17-18 mins away from pure happiness everyday! Then 100 points to 7 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 so fantastic!

Yes, I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling since that moment! Im still deliriously happy four weeks later! Planning for my own Demons 2021 premiership season marathon on Kayo! Just contemplating whether rounds 1-22 are Kayo mini’s then watching full games of round 23 and all finals, plus a round or two of golf and some sleep. That way only need to send my wife and kids away for a weekend! If I go full length matches round 1-22 will need to send them away for a week!

Demons did a great job to get Selwyn Griffiths in from Brisbane after he’d been successful in keeping their list healthy, spends a year with Burgess and is perfectly placed to step into the main role! Great planning!

Agree totally on your belief comment. Over & above Premiers very well made comments, we have other great fundamentals: - proven selfless approach - proven winning gameplan - strong backline just gets stronger the more they play together - knowledge they can win from almost any position - the way the forward line clicked in the Prelim & Grand Final means we go into next year with a fully functioning forward line, add to our defensive structure and awesome midfield, will hopefully mean that the Demons will be unbelievably hard to stop next year, a level above this year - Goodwin mantra about staying in the moment is a great way to stay grounded. After the outright enjoyment of our finals matches culminating in a fantastic flag, we might even be better next year. Something amazing to look forward to in 2022 and get even more excited.

He has that rare ability to put a player into space, and times his disposals to perfection. As mentioned above in prior posts his hand passes to Spargo and then Oliver were just perfect. He will just continue to improve, can’t wait to see how far he can go!!

Seems like we are keeping & building a good coverage across ground for injuries next year: Dunstan - inside mid Majak - Ruck Tomlinson - Backline tall Hunt - Backline small (he was stiff this year) Jordan - Wing/Outside mid Baker - Wing Weideman - Forward tall Brown - Forward tall or at stretch mid Melksham - Forward mid Bedford - Forward small Chandler - Forward small (if he stays) Very solid coverage most with reasonable experience! Then we have a few younger guys and some new draft picks. Demon list management has been great!
