CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide

Agree with your comments. The other thing on Demonland is a number expect consistent stats/goals each week - e.g. Fritsch only had one goal 6-7 possessions drop him, next week he kicks 5 goals from 6-7 possessions great game. Very few forwards have a consistent output week to week, as long as they are doing most of the right things FD stick with them and we see the results. Look at Bowey last week against Suns, 30 plus possessions, but as Goodwin stated, he played the same way the week before and things went his way last week.

AFLW PREGAME: Grand Final vs Adelaide

Mithen plays for frees, but as you say above, Davidson twice her size, put UFC move on her and no free or report. After KKJ in press during the week that no report for rugby tackle was pathetic!! HTB is shocking, out in play take two steps get grabbed ball spills out, your done! However try and take on a few players around or through a pack, get tackled just drop ball or one handed throw like Lions in girls or Dogs in AFL, nothing to see here. Definitely most annoying interpretation. Other one for me is seeing player push someone out of marking contest while ball is 20 metres away and just waved on. Umpiring incredibly tough job, as only see a bit over half the action/vision, but the above and frees in the ruck drive me nuts!

		2022 Match Review Panel

AFL is like cigarette companies saying smoking not related to cancer! They don’t want to spoil the look of the game, while saying we’re protecting the head. Unfortunately unless a player is injured AFL really try ignore any action, unless by players not liked - Toby, Mitch etc. Then you have protected species in Dangerfield, Selwood & Hawkins who can do whatever they want, Hawkins broke May's jaw, could have broken Oliver’s neck, but Cats given free reign.

AFLW PREGAME: Grand Final vs Adelaide

Crows have a lot of very strong girls in their team and more than a few players who handball really well out of packs. They will be hard to beat. Taylor Harris didn’t get much from umpires, seemed to get blocked, held, pushed all game. Hopefully Demons have a day out like against Freo and bring home the chocolates!

		Tassie…. Devils?

While Kissing Cousins is most appropriate with some banjo accompaniment for their theme song, Tassie Convicts with Chains as theme song runs it close!

AFLW PREGAME: Grand Final vs Adelaide

Only one change, Scott seems to have minimal impact again today, maybe does more structurally or off ball or off screen, but doesn’t seem to add much.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide

Likely Ins: BBB (tall forward) & Lever ( tall defender) Out : TMac (tall forward) & Tomlinson (tall defender moving slowly) or May (looked injured) As highlighted above Port forward line not tall, so can’t see how Hunt is dropped, and he played okay.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast

I thought TMac hurt his back last year around time BBB came back in and also had a new baby. He struggled rest of year, but as mentioned did play a role, and enabled Fritsch & BBB to get free. To see him just clunk one or two more marks a game will help change the perception.

GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast Suns

Big average but still 4 pts. Dogga, Bowey & Kossie 👍👍 Does umpiring get worse every year! Dermy & Dwayne should join the umpires, same quality!

MOMENTUM: A 2021 Grand Final Story

6 months after the big day and watching momentum gave me goosebumps. Unbelievable final series and GF just fantastic, we had to wait 57 years, but made it worth the wait. Would be incredible to be at G and watch them go back-back in 2022! The goals in the third were just electric, Fritsch, Fritsch, BBB, wait a few minutes Brayshaw amazing courage, then Trac, Sparrow & Clarry, awesome! Go Demons!

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 10 vs Carlton

If the Demons play anywhere near last week they will win comfortably. But different opponents and ground, kick straight and all will be good!😁

Bont is a gun and I couldn’t see how Daniel got a vote ahead of him in Norm Smith!

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 09 vs Fremantle

The ball movement was a class above anything I’ve seen in the AFLW. Assuming the Demons will gain a lot of confidence from this performance, and build further momentum leading into the finals, have their best chance of winning a flag - Covid willing!

		POSTGAME: Community Series vs Carlton

Agree 100%. Small forward or half forward positions, rarely have high stats and when you look at best players have quiet games eg. Papley, Cameron. Kossie still keeps pressure up on his quiet possession days. I don’t think the umpires do him many favours, that missed head high tackle in GF as an example, if he got treated like Selwood would get 3-5 head high frees a week.

		Oliver on Petracca

I don’t get to caught up in who is the best player in the league. Petracca, Oliver, Martin, & Bontempelli all terrific players! What I care about is our no. 1 combos: mid - Clarry & Trac (Viney a more than handy 3rd) ruck - Gawn & Dogga back - Lever & May (Salem ) wingers - Angus & Langdon Then I would argue our forward line as a whole group works very well Fritsch arguably best half forward (exc Toby), Pickett & Brown in best 4-5 in their positions, well supported by the rest. Looking forward to another top 4 and hopefully top 2 finish. That enables another crack at the flag. Go Demons!
