Your on the right track as Frost a bigger body at 194 and 95 ks can run was the option for Cox. Frosty would have been more than competitive. The other was lacking a midfielder we certainly fell short today against better opposition. Tyson had 38 possys at Casey. Garlett is quick and applies forward pressure and lets not forget Hunt. They all have plenty to give. There isn't anything wrong with our playing group, so far they have done the job however there are times when your gut feel says it was Frosty's turn to be given that go or Garlett was ripe as speed was the need for today. It's called team balance and l felt they didn't prepare for the right personal. IMO.

Petracca can obviously do better but today however his 15 possessions were minimal but mainly quality unlike some others who looked slow and look cooked so called. Quality players get themselves out of a rut But Petracca is not in a rut. Furthermore if you doubt his ability l think he would be a waste down at Casey. I am glad that the doubters don't pick the side.

Jake Lever you are one totally classy person and l am rapt you are part of our club. If anyone underestimated you or Melbourne picking you, then they don't know their footy. You will come back and be even better for it. Your team mates will miss you playing with them but l know you will support them in any way to help them go forward this year as well. Mate you are a credit to your Family.

Melbourne had a chance to pick him up the same year that Viney was picked at 26 in the father and son selection in 2012. Viney and Wines friends from a young age playing junior footy. However as it turned out Toumpas got through at 4 in Melbourne's selection and picked him up instead. Wines went at no. 7. to Port. I somehow think that he won't pick us if he wanted to leave Port. It's just a hunch. He would be more than handy if we acquired him but I think at the time the grapevine had him going to Melbourne. You would have to ask Todd Viney why we didn't pick him up.

Filling the hole left by Jake Lever’s injury
nosoupforme replied to PaulRB's topic in Melbourne Demons
We never had Lever last season and were travelling ok and if it wasn't for our injuries we would have made the Finals no doubt in my mind. However we can do well and cover Lever firstly with Frosty and maybe with a Joel Smith or Declan kielty. Or does Goodwin have other ideas? Good there be a smoky? We will miss Jake however there might be a making of another on our list. -
Bolton will need stilts as well.

Last Man Standing: A Goal in Every Game
nosoupforme replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
As long as Hogan is injury free and playing well and helping to win games for our great club then that is all l care for. Hoskin - Elliott, who? Please spare me! -
AA for Jetter it is a no brainer. Last season he was nominated, however since Melbourne are building a reputation with the way they are consistently winning Jetter is having a say and producing his best football. Gawny and Hogan are lock ins for AA and Hibberd is not too far away.

Lost Lever to an ACL and disappointed for Jake. He will bounce back better than ever and hope that all goes well. However in the Bulldogs Premiership year they lost Murphy to that dreaded injury. We will miss him but will cover him with Frosty. Jetter played one of his best games with 9 marks in defence he was unstoppable as was Hibbo. 2 class acts. Oscar had his usual reliable game. I thought that Hogan and TMac combined well up forward for several goals between them. Plenty of run and grunt from Clarry Brayshaw, Viney, Harmes, and Jones. Gawn dominated all day in the ruck. We didn't win the clearance count but all our recognised players had an influence in our big win. That is saying something. Bring on the Wobbles so the Queens Birthday Masters can teach them a thing or two.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 11
nosoupforme replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
To win the 4 quarters and make it 22 consecutive, a league record and smash the bullies. A good present for chunky's 250th. However it will be a Happy day for all of us. -
l thought they were training runs. Now that they have extended Charlie's contract they might rest him. I hope not.

All we have to do is keep winning and the rest will look after itself. They will eventually come around. They can only drool. -

If l had a tear in my eye it was because Angus Brayshaw playing a complete football game and enjoying his time in the side with his brothers that he loves at Melbourne. Remembering when he started in his first year and playing the majority of the year in the ones and holding his own. He only missed when he was rested. When he was concussed several times in his short career his playing future looked dim . However he has turned it around in the five winning games significantly since Goodwin took the shackles off and gave him the responsibility to play and own the midfield on a regular basis and he is playing incredibly well. I feel so happy for him.and deserves a bit of luck. The interview he did after the game in Alice Springs with Burgs hit the spot. This kid is special.

When Viney came back into the side his team mates grew in confidence. They have that extra spring in their step. As we see the last 2 games, it is so noticeable Gawny grew an extra 10 cm. We can only be better with him in the side. Welcome back Champ.

I am rapt for all the supporters and hope that we really start to believe in what Goodwin through to the FD is trying to achieve for us who have been deprived of for many many dark years. I can only Dream for now. Could COME TRUE SOON.

When you have the depth that runs deep and injury free the results come with it. Over my time I would look to our top 10 players and match them against the other clubs without being biased and IMO i struggled to find between 5 to 7. However l now believe we have at least 15 without hesitation. Hopefully the bad times have left us.

I was at the western oval in the outer wing Grinter stuck his arm stretched out as Wallace was going for the ball. He collected Wallace with his hand closed fist but connecting first with his thumb which I think was taped because of a previous injury. Grinter smash the front of his face and broke his jaw. However Wallace played the following week with a broken jaw where his girlfriend or maybe his wife had to chew a packet gum so he can put a wad of gum in his mouth to hold his jaw together. Rod Grinter copped 6 weeks. I cannot remember the year Maybe 25 years ago? Don't hold it against me.

Now that is funny i'm in tears

Who's playing at the GOOFY Stadium ? ha ha, that kills me. Oh well l thought it was Marvellously funny.

Tmac will probably play if he is travelling with the team let's wait and see. However if he doesn't play we can cover him with a Pedersen. The thing is that the crows have atleast 5 regulars out and the one that can hurts us is out, and that is McGovern. Therefore l feel confident enough to say that we can make it 5 in a row. You can only beat whats in front of you. So let go Dees. Give Pyke a sleepless week.

Don't you just love Hibbo ? Class act a bit of oomph, a bit of arrogance an abundance of confidence and its rubbing off on his team mates. His a real Dee.
