A great couple of games so far this year. Really contributing.

It is rather obvious that for Nibbler, the (new) improved game plan and team commitment to one another (despite the odds) are the key factors that better suit his improving game skills and role in what we do onfield. Examples abound around these themes in many players these days, not just ANB. It appears as though his role is better clarified on several dimensions and has been more clearly communicated to him, alongside several others in the team.

We're going to cream North Melbourne - this is a new age starting Round One this year. Rub the crystallised sea salt into the Kangas' wounds in the process; give 'em a double dose for all the umpire-affected wins they had against us in the dark ages that reside as constant memories of MFC pain. The double dose would be BBrown to kick at least 5 goals against them and due to our sarcasm, throw Daw in for good measure (he's tag-teamed with BB for a few years, now); Daw can kick 3 or 4 goals and with his reach, out-tap Goldstein a few times.

Seems to have a bit of class, driven by loyalties to the team and the Club; commendable resolve is pushing through in his game, as well. Teamwork and support can only benefit. Onyer, Nibbler.

If they are both on a par fitness wise, I'd go for BBrown over the Weed. Great news from May - hopefully; Fritta expected news so good luck with the Friday medical assessment - you're too useful to be left out.

Yep, that would suit the Filth as their new ground. It smells right, just like the toothless throngs and troglodites who turn up at their games.

The MCG precint will always be a pre-occupation. It need not be so, given that every team and their flea-ridden dogs occupy the MCG these days and co-tenancy is not only a problem, it is an old event shrouded in the sell-out of the MFC-MCC association years ago by those with the power of the pen. Tradition has gone with the wind of cash so offered to the landlords. Caulfied actually looks really good, to me, part of a massive sport, entertainment and recreational undertaking that again places the precinct of Greater Melbourne at the top of the world stage and by golly, it is accessible and sustainable in attendance, and financial senses. A new Mecca is being planned in which it would be terrific for the MFC to be closely associated.

Richmond came out the favourites, super-confident and arrogant during the pre-season for a practice match against the Dees. They did not impress and went down rather embarassingly to an underprepared Demon outfit. It's going to happen again this coming weekend. This time, we're prepared, despite key injuries.

The Weed is enigmatic to some degree - kicks seven last week, couldn't get a kick the week before - all at a lower grade and standard - yet in many minds, a mandatory inclusion to the team. One more week at Casey would be a sensible indicator for him as his form has been a history of 'ups' and 'not so up(s) ' for so long. Brown in at FFwd, TMac at CHFwd and Fritta in, for mine.

Nope, Tomlinson is a winger with additional skills displayed in the backline in recent matches. I'd accept a utility winger provided that abstraction can run both ways. Tomlinson can - all game.He is also a good linkman.

Reservations of TMac playing the wingers role. He is not quick enough, agile enough and one-dimensional in his delivery. He is a good mark and accurate kick but the wing is too far out for his talents.

300 games is a terrific marque, but it can wait when it affects the team.

Correct, but we could have a general message to our players, particularly those who have good mobility, to take him on and so do as hard and straight as you can. He won't recover so well if he's impacted time and again. He's no Petracca!

Send a forewarning sms to the umpires because it surely is going to happen. Whie you are at it, request some head-high protection from Lynch's elbow.

One hopes your dreams come true, praha. I'd think that if we run until we spew, at the end of 100 minutes of game time, we will win reasonably comfortably; our other football skills are building and improving so we might just surprise the Tigers. However, more than any other side in the League that we come up against, these are going to be big requirements: play bloody good footy across a full 100 minutes, tackle hard, pick best options (not just convenient exits) and deploy widespread mongrel so that Richmond players keep looking over their shoulders. 'Carna Dees! Put 'em off their game.

Tom did play well in terms of marks, some spoils and intercepts. His disposal, by hand and foot, still reeks of signalling of his intention when on the move - he should become more 'cagey' in his decision-making, less predictable in his disposals.

The other fella in the photo, Tomlinson, gets Goodwin's shoulder. A few times in the match, Tomlinson was evidently not quite at the ball as a defender and yet, a little out there, radially, he was poised to break with the ball, well. It is time that Tomlinson was returned to the wing to effect his movement both ways, his spatial awareness and drive, and his improved accuracy in disposal. What he has learned/displayed in the backline will be an enormous boost for his wing role and play in support of the team. Gus, put there 'out of position' is similarly strugling at times - Gus is an outside midfielder with talent for that role supporting Tracc and Oliver and Gawn through that midfield array. Let's see Tomlinson back on the wing (a position in which I believe he will display vast improvements) and Gus back to the midfield.

No, they both cannot succeed against Richmond's clearing defence and run. Who is the greatest threat to Richmond (?) - that is the question, enabling/contributing to effective dispersement of the ball in the Demons favour. BB has the runs on the board in terms of the grab and the reliability off the foot - and getting into telling positions to receive the ball. Weed has had a great game with Casey and performed astonishingly well - right now, holding runs on the board for senior selection opportunity. The selection must come from the respective delivery of the ball to teammates and attacking smalls. The possible return of Fritta may well affect the selection, anyway. Brown, for mine. TMac rested if the Weed is selected but the Weed is very static week-to-week (perhaps to be trialled again at CHF where he will have to run and find space to execute his skills).

Terrific report, thorough and honest. Despite the weaknesses of the opposition, footy is still a team game and the blend of Casey players met that challenge well, it seems. There are a few peaks and a few troughs for the AFL Team emerging; and certainly in my mind, the loss of Joel Smith to injury once again is a major disappointment as I consider him a valuable asset in the AFL team as a forward. Yep, more cut-offs for the Dees are created in that habit of our new smalls to run them down so well, they (the opposition) hear footsteps and panic.

My Dad bought a new Holden Premier, blue with white sidewall-tyres. 1965, the year that I discovered girls and found them to be quite fascinating and exciting. As for football, the Dees were hot-to-trot, the team to beat, tough as nails, and football was not overly commercialised with thousands of 'hangers-on' profiteers.

There is no 'i' in TEAM. The draw says that we play the Tigers next; in so far as this is the case, Jones' 300 games will have to wait. He is not up to running against the run of the Tigers. Simple. Footy is more than one 10seconds sprint. We will need legs, legs and more legs to overcome the Tigers' game.
