  1. Posting to username quite high on this thread.
  2. Just to light a fire... what about James Sicily to our backline to free up Mr H Petty to roam forward in the TMAC role. A big clunker of marks. A reverse Frawley if you will....
  3. It's probably Demonland Royalty... the question is... which poster?
  4. I agree about Harmes and the gap between when he is being really effective vs ineffective on the field as quite large. The ruthless part of me is I would be satisfied if he was moved on, the sentimental part of me is very satisfied that a boyhood Melbourne supporter has won a premiership with the team he loved growing up and was able to extract enough from himself to be picked in the side for that premiership.
  5. I would think he understands that everyone he is trying to replace is a premiership player and he isn't.
  6. Imports... no themes were discerned. Happy to be corrected on this... 2011 - Geelong - 1 (Brad Ottens) 2012 - Sydney - 4 (M.Morton, S Mumford, M Mattner, R Shaw) 2013 - Hawthorn 5 (Lake, Gibson, Gunston, Guerra, Burgoyne) 2014 - Hawthorn 7 ((Lake, Gibson, Gunston, Hale, Burgoyne, Spangher, Mc Evoy) 2015 - Hawthorn 7 ((Frawley, Lake Gibson, Gunston, Hale, Burgoyne , Mc Evoy) 2016 - Bulldogs 3( Biggs, Boyd, Hamling) 2017 - Richmond 5 (Prestia, Houli, Nankervis, Grigg, Caddy) 2018- WCE - 5 (Redden, Yeo, Kennedy, Vardy, Jetta) 2019- Richmond 5 (Prestia, Houli, Nankervis, Lynch, Caddy) 2020 - Richmond 4 (Prestia, Houli, Nankervis, Lynch) 2021 - Demons 5 (May, Lever, Brown, Langdon, Hibberd)
  7. Quick, forward that on to Goodwin, for the theme for the year 2022. I think that is brilliant Fork Em.
  8. ok here's another one. Can anyone be bothered digging up stats on say over the last decade - what % of premiership winning teams each year are made up of (sorry for international jargon) - home grown talent vs imports?
  9. I really appreciate the time and effort there. Thank you. That is actually quite astounding 14 out of the 18 are premiership players.
  10. Yeah... but I don;'t really want to make it about that.
  11. Has anyone got any data (or the time to create a list) on whom we drafted in the first two rounds from 2010-2015 and then 2016-2020? I just wanted to look at the ol nature vs nuture (drafting vs development) debate.
  12. A fantastic piece of writing on the system that has now allowed all teams since 1995 (26 years) aside from the Gold Coast to fight it out at least once in a Grand Final. May A Thousand Blossoms Bloom
  13. I'd like to acknowledge BMAC. As a rule of thumb in the industry - it's known that it takes 7 years or so to build a team for a premiership. Significant influence on the training standards and support for Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney and Harmes - lauded as one of the top midfield groups - who just happened to come up against another one of the top midfield groups in Bontempelli, Liberatore, MacCrae who he had a significant influence on.... and he also had significant influence on Ablett, Ling and Chapman.
  14. Earlier today after watching the 4 mini kayo's of Rnd 23 v Geelong - QF v Brisbane - PF v Geelong and GF v Footscray and recognizing I've probably gorged on the equivalent of 24 hours of football content from a range of sources over the last week. It did make me wonder about how our contemporaries in 1964 got to gorge on the last GF? Read the papers cover to cover? Or did they all just move along quickly then?
  15. From back in June Also another linK - load management Throwing it out there... with finals essentially assured, this helps with planning. Perhaps they’ve been doing a hard block of aerobic training, so more fatigued for this particular game, rather than having it easy for 10 days...which will continue over the next fortnight. Which fits into a bigger picture of tapering before the finals in 12 weeks So if you’re doing a particular hard block of training, it’s more than likely not an attitude thing. the team looked flat from the word go... but there is 3 months of evidence that they are a professional and hungry unit who have delivered against high quality teams. so in my mind it wasn’t ‘attitude’ per se - something else is going on if you’ve got a bye coming up and some teams at the lower end of the ladder - If you were Burgess, and has to plan, where would you put the hard training block in? let me digress to Geelong and how they often lose after a bye - when they’ve got x amount of games at kardinia park - near certainties to make finals annually. Just might be some correlation to training loads and intensity in preparation for finals - and how it interplay’s with game day fatigue Just sayin... ( volume and intensity looks pretty high right now if you’re to use it as a guide as to what may be occurring behind the scenes in training. when you ‘know’ you’re in for finals, so to speak Edited June 14 by Engorged Onion
  16. really??? I am shocked! (seriously)
  17. Whilst its fair @Baghdad Bob, my capitalistic bent, feels it's really unfair to share the profits with minnow clubs like Collingwood and Richmond when they're secondary to the main entertainment package.
  18. I'd argue Nank is nowhere near it. Now...argue it 😃
  19. Just listened to Tim Lane in the last 3 minutes of the match. He said Melbourne had kicked 100 points (which I know we all know) in essentially a quarter and a half against a team that had not conceded 100 points to any team all year. [censored] stupendous.
  20. Not a stupid q at all.. audio is fine...weirdly the vision isn't. Firefox has remedied Kayo - but not the youtube vision of of any of the radio calls... I'll try some of these options... cheers. **thanks @FritschyBusiness - vision is working fine!
  21. and good old Safari @Range Rover to the snow ...but I just noticed this on youtube... perhaps all the calls have been taken down (bit weird the Kayo melbourne matches isnt working either).
  22. Hi all, sorry for doing it on this forum - but I figured some tech guru will know - I've just updated my Mac - hoping to watch a multicall - and cannot watch video (it plays/streams) but I can hear the audio -doesnt matter if it is kayo or youtube. Anything I can do somewhere in settings or preferences to rectify this? *sorry for posting it here folks, but I figured someone will know something... and then this can drift way down the forum topics list.
