Your favourite music to get you through to the Grand Final
Thanks for everyone for posting their taste on here... some of it I love, some of it I cannot connect to ... and thats the awesomeness of humans... anyway... for me...as I slip on my pre match anxiety suit - I was reflecting on my week of heavy heavy stuff... my work takes me to many places and many experiences,...made me think of humanity as a whole So my frustration at humans led me to this... So damn easy to cave in - man kills everything and then my respite... and being a saltwater person. Go Dees

Huh? I get that you're anxious- and Tom won't be the reason we win or lose...

You're bang on here! I think yourself and Binman have mentioned the change in tactic in the first half. I recall watching the First Crack at the time with Montagna - who also gave some clarity around that. I'm both surprised, and not really - that this insight is not spoken about - not just in the media, but here on Demonland. We deliberately went to either - test what would happen with a change in structure/philosophy, or at least were 'foxing' a bit and then reverted back to type in the second half and annihilated them. Geelong would also know this and be acutely aware. So then it falls to Rhys to give them the best opportunity of getting the ball at a minimum 70%-80% of the time to capitalise. BUT we go in setting up the way we do, because we DO expect Max to win most centre bounce taps - which means other sides anticipate this and set up that way...which is why WE set up the way we do with an extra back a kick. (sorry about the circular) So even if Rhys 'halves' the centre bounces, it still falls in our favour, because even the Cat's midfielders have uncertainty to deal with... whereas we don't - if we lose it - great, we will mop up - and if we win great... I truly believe Geelong really have their work cut out to stop us structurally, and aside from injury, really really poor pressure or inaccuracy, I cannot see us losing.

Your first MFC Game/Best MFC Game/Worst MFC Game
Yep, a completely miserable night - and we then caught the train home to Geelong …ugh

Your first MFC Game/Best MFC Game/Worst MFC Game
Some friends from the Faroe Islands - population circa 50,000 came to watch Geelong play Melbourne at the G. They were staying in Geelong at the time, we got to the MCG - holds a capacity of 100,000, they were blown away. Melbourne were then blown away. (see the score below) My friends did not understand why I would put myself through a lifetime of pain - let alone suggest to them the same. Come along I said, We'll have a great time I said...

That is it in a nutshell... no point presenting if a deal could not be worked out... I'd imagine it will not have anything to do with a straight deal between Melbourne and Freo - that appears to be self-evident.

PF: Port Adelaide vs Bulldogs
I take your point Jaded - and that statement is an acknowledgement that the Geelong Football Club have had sustained success over a long period of time. AND whilst that may be true, the reality is no club will or could change things so significantly to try to disrupt the other team, because it will be too much of a disruption/change to how they play themselves. Our methodology or system is stronger than theirs. Sure, there might be some individuals with brilliance on the night, but both teams essentially back their existing system to beat the other one. I know who's system I would back.

I like it - nicely explained (I always lose track in the fine detail). Subsequently - people on Demonland can then complain that we have paid overs for the first 2 seasons at The Demons, much like Lever, or May, or....

Big shout out to James Harmes. I'm sure we all know he was/is a dyed in the wool Melbourne supporter. Running out in Prelim... must be amazing for him. Also... hope he gets a run with role on Dangerfield, but also happy if he is on Duncan.

Thought I'd put this Stats Insider article here. On why your club might not win the 2021 Premiership

PF: Melbourne vs Geelong
Tom - we have the system to beat them. We have the system to beat any team as evidenced throughout the year (aside from Collingwood ;)..but we were heavily loading then ). Geelong won't beat us. We only lose if we beat ourselves - poor midfield pressure, or inaccurate kicking for goal.

The sooner we lose Friday, the quicker Adam can nominate us and get this whole circus on the road! 😉

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURS
I've thought that all year. Brayshaw being played on the wing (by mutual agreement and clearly a win/win) feels like when James Frawley was played in the forward line for 5 months - telegraphing his move out of the club...mind you, happy if he stays.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURS
Perhaps he didn't like the then current culture at Freo, or the incumbent coach. Like most people, I assume he had every intention of honouring that deal with Brisbane - but things change, things evolve and 'what matters' becomes clearer, even if you are contracted and even if its in a 3 year period. Is it a problem that things evolve, that people change their mind? I can't imagine the club has had no idea of his intentions until it was released in the media post last match of the season. And yes, it is just a place of work. Just like yours, with really important relationships, some less important, and yet still pragmatic decisions made about your families future. Brisbane can choose to make him honour his contract (what other industry would do that for a human for another two years) but at what cost? I actually think the AFL industry does a really good job of being transparent and helping employees that want to move on, get to a place of employment that they want to. Supporters are the ones that get blindsided due to their emotional baggage.

I wonder what objective reasons the FD think we DO need Cerra?

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURS
It's reported that his wife who is 6 months pregnant with first child, wants to return to be more connected with family, whilst raising her own. It looks as though he is acting in his wife's, his child and his own best well-being interest. The only thing that matters in life is family and friends and the connection you have with them, and its pretty pronounced in these Covid times, when you have an absence of connection to them.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURS
Perhaps he is valuing his loyalty to his wife as opposed to a job? (it is, 'just' a job). Who's to say he hasn't suffered and had immense anxiety about the ramifications of this (in how he is judged as a person (but really an employee) when he and his wife mutually decided it was the best thing for their family?

Gus & Gawney Podcast - special guest Simon Goodwin
I was just reading through the ABC's little expose on Bontempelli. One of the many reasons Jack would be loved, would be by where he sits in this particular graphic/chart. *The Bont sits 5 on tackles and mid 22/23 on pressure acts. Here is a link to the article to go over a few other graphs. Petracca is up there, as well as Clayton in a few of them. Also J Harmes.

Thanks! Ah sorry Clint - it was more a question around whether you had any thoughts about the mechanics of how we could be part of getting Neale back to Freo, and Cerra across to us.
