its not a best and fairest vote though is it - it was who did you as a coach deem to be most influential on the ground today... Simpsons or less likely Lyon is well within their rights to vote that way... irrespective of what occurred. It's not supporting what happened, its removing that incident and looking through a more objective lens....
  2. I'm always interested in the why - aside from how he played, what do you know (i'm genuinely curious) about how he coaches?, why would we want to consider him?
  3. Nice one @bobby1554 - you forced me to do some quick sums Over the 19 rounds thus far we are 8.32 points per game (1 and a bit goals) behind Richmond in conceding (who are first in this field) we are 9.05 points per game ahead of Richmond in scoring (who are the 2nd in this field) As Goodwin says..we're not far off it - and considering the depth of experience of their core players (5-7 more years of experience compared to ours) and particularly since 2017 - Richmonds group of Rance, Martin Cotchin and a few others have missed perhaps 1 game each)...again compared to Hogan, Gawn, Viney, Tmac etc - we are delivering rather rather rather well.

I like your reconnaissance @Skuit - that young mid would have to be Kent right?! Right?? Oh dear - Hogan played midfield... FMD
  7. it's not a problem if it is yet another afl related article in the media...
  8. He's deliberately poking the port adelaide bear... love it.
  9. I;m with you @GCDee - we have form in the west - particularly as they're depleted - we match up rather well. I think on body of work for the year - we should get up over sydney - irrespective of what happens in our and their match. And I think in the case of the GWS - they;ve got more class and outside (which can kill us) but we should go alright up forward - it's contingent on planning and execution (as i guess it is every week(.
  10. And if he was a Melbourne player - he really should go back and learn his 'craft' in the vfl and have him ready for 2019 ?
  11. I thought the same thing @Mach5 - I know nothing about him however... was a fine player mind you...
  12. can you give names that are realistic for points 2 and 3 mate...me thinks yer screaming into the wind...
  13. don't you know he 'trialed for man u' - (like a bazillion other kids)...
  14. I'm in sweden as we speak - game is on at 7.am local time - akavavit while sailing... yeah no issues with that!
  15. Loving the conviction @ProDee - curious as to the reasons why?
  16. just on bringing the ball into the 50 (at times it feels like at all costs) - aside from Lewis's two goals and Melksham's one - I have a vibe that we would be one of the teams with the lowest amount of goals from beyond 50 this year - anyone know of a good stat's site where I could draw this info from?
  17. i used to be so happy for Robert Harvey, when he went back to back - GAB jrn - also did it at gold coast - it can happen - and I kind of hope it does happen again. Just not this year - for max.
  18. methinks we are playing a glorified VFL side - who just happen to be playing in the top tier...
  19. MFCSS FFS!
  20. mmmm quite possible now that i draw a few lines together...
  21. pedant that I am @Lucifer's Hero... and 2nd and 3rd round draftees... and the rest of the population.... it's not even a matter of elite sport - though that job is completed in the public eye (if you're in the 22)... I'm changing jobs as we speak - not so much due to mental health problem - but recognising that the current situation is untenable for satisfaction. People values evolve over time - and what he desired as 17yo has no doubt shifted....and as you rightfully said - he's called it now, rather than dragging it out. With respect to some other insensitive comments on here - thank god that inner workings of football clubs are calm, humanistic and compassionate places these days - I can't imagine having to front up to some folk with the 'no loss, harden the eff up' attitude as my HR person and having to work through that...
  22. *not merely as sexy as who we should target player wise. It's easy to draw inferences on players skills sets, acumen and talent - harder to draw a line on coaches, particularly all the assistant ones from afar. I stumbled across Brett Ratten leaving Hawthorn a few minutes ago - and thought to myself - that I've always rated him, as a person and as a coach, can't tell you why, just a sense... wouldn't mind getting him on board again at the Dee's. But, in one - out another - and without character assassinating people/coaches I've never met - has anyone got a version of a champion data write up for our assistant coaches - I hear from some Demonlanders that Troy Chaplin, shouldn't be retained etc etc...
  23. Maybe I’m a romantic - is Bugg still relevant in the FD’s eyes? I personally rate him, and also personally don’t think his reportable offence was anywhere near deliberate as people make out (this isn’t the point to debate)- I can even excuse his goal kicking yips because he was getting himself in to position. AND nor do I think he is a ‘pest’. All that preface for one question - will he get a game again for the dees?
  24. I'm sure this has been asked before - but I am away hiking in Sweden and have just got some wifi with a beer in hand... anyone know how to access (if you can) a replay of the adelaide game? Obviously I can't do it - even as an afl/telstra subscriber. Any advice would be great Cheers
