Key tactical issues v Geelong
So, one of the clear plans for Geelong is to shark the ball in the contest...they back theirs...we back ours... (we've got better stoppers who can damage going forward (Harmes on form, viney, I'd imagine ANB may go to Ablett, with his running power, and AVB and Trac with their bigger body.core strength to impede the Danger/Selwood/Ablett/Menegola getting the ball)). Also having Max drop into the backline, and the rebound from Hibberd/Salem, will be used to scythe through transition on the 45 for ANB, Trac to allow TMAC, Weid to mark the ball in the F50 and if they don't mark it, Spargo to be front and centre at the fall to snaffle the crumbs and ANB to poach 3 goals running into the goal square... Just on that... Spargo for a cool 5 goals

This makes no sense to me at all... practically how that plays out game day, or even the arrogance to choose to do so (see St Kilda)... BUT - I hope you'er right @Clintosaurus

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
Mmmm, Tom $cully is potentially out of GWS - without the history, I'd take him in heart beat.

Camp wars
what a hilarious, and hilariously damning read (if this was similar to what occurred)... coaches and fd departments don't know, what they don't know, when they chase the panacea for mental *ahem* toughness. frightening that merely by word of mouth of one the fd's direct experience - they don't due their due diligence - on whether any of the practitioners are members of AHPRA.

@Redleg - couldnt be bothered listing him or Viney there will be turn over, clearly... I've said it before... Josh Mahoney has not just alluded to, but overtly said that Melbourne will pursue a free agent in this year’s exchange period to help bolster its push for a drought-breaking premiership (april 16th 2018 h.sun - paywall for the article) In my mind, Mahoney only ever says these things publicly, when something is signed, sealed and delivered, not when it is a maybe. The question is whom.

Lever.... and another preseason in the rest of them...

Farewell Jesse Hogan
so like gaff then...?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Good god, there is nothing in the article of substance...or even of interest...it's like a stream of consciousness on the topic of Jesse hypothetically moving merely because he is from Perth.

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
not that I think he was ever required, however you can rule a line through dalhaus, he won't be at melbourne...

For those that reckon Goodwin is an emotionless rock... check him out as he embraces Bernie.

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
that'd be Lever then eh... he's the only one who's a monty for that length of time...second thoughts...could be straight from Hogan...

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
I was thinking today, would Hogan have the clout (balls, ego) to say yes, with the proviso that Ross is not at the club...., not that it means Ross would leave before the end of his contract...but from an outsiders perspective (and having some links to inside intel)...generational schisms etc etc....

Andrew Gaff
cryptic Lynch I presume.. Hogan off to Freo - we get pick 5 and Brayshaw and ontrade 5 for Kelly... sounds pretty simple to me.

It's interesting, I feel Josh and Co have done a great job since becoming the incumbents, in completely under the radar getting some coups... If it's not Gaff, quite frankly I have a sense based on past experience that the FD have got another ripper, who's good to go (no need for development) locked and loaded. A few folk have referenced an early season comment also from Josh, that they're aiming for perhaps 2 people... Again, my sense of the club, is they are very very measured with what they choose to say externally, thus I would imagine there will be 2 coming into the club... In my opinion as well - for those wondering about Hogan and trading... personally I'm not phased, however what is good for the cub is good for the club and if they were to get a player and a pick (assuming it is Hogan who sticks his hand up to leave) - then I would assume the pick that is picked up would definitely be on-traded to get said player of the two that Josh was referencing.
