  1. It's called appealing it.
  2. Okay, I just don't buy it. I know many doctors and I don't know one that would be unethical in such a situation and doing it in a high profile situation is much riskier than I think you're giving it credit for. There is nothing in it for Carlton and nothing in it for the doctor. I does seem that this situation gives us the opportunity to play the victim which is something I really hate but is part of the landscape (generally) now.
  3. But what in it for the doctor? The risk is that if it does get out the doctor is in serious trouble and for what? I don't get it. And what's in it for Carlton? Nothing.
  4. Why would medical professionals put there career at risk to increase penalties for two players who Carlton won't face in the sanction period? Cripps has a fractured face, Rowe suffered delayed concussion, both incidents were off the ball, we didn't deserve any favours. Very dumb and may cause us to miss finals.
  5. Head down there Drunkn167, you just never know. You'd have everyone at DL right behind you!
  6. Watts missed a centre bounce, Lewis and Hogan will miss five games between them.
  7. What's a refreshing change? He clearly doesn't give a stuff how the supporters feel who pay (in part) for his salary. And I wonder what those who's opinion he does value have said. The implication is he thinks he's a good bloke and those around him think he did nothing wrong. Hard to reconcile that with Mahoney's view and those of Tom McDonald.
  8. I live on a planet that says this Club aspires to play finals for the first time in 11 years. To do that we need our best players on the field for the most number of games possible because at the end of the season one game and percentage could be vital. I don't live on a planet that says "he hit me first so I'll break his jaw and ignore that I've put the primary goal of this Club at risk". I don't think Lewis is a thug. I think he's just dumb. If we lose any of the next three games by less than (say) 10 points I'll feel angry that two vital players were undisciplined. You can beat your chest and say "goody, we gave as good as we got".
  9. You and I usually agree but not on this occasion. Firstly I don't see it as Lewis responding to Robbo who, like you, I see as a vacant space. But Robbo last night was asking questions for me. Lewis was on national TV and I wanted to see how he felt about letting down his teammates, his employer, the footy public and importantly the supporters of the club who have spent 11 years in the desert. His words I could almost cope with but his body language and tone made it clear he doesn't rate how we want the club to be viewed. Mahoney said yesterday that the actions of Vince, Hogan and Lewis are not how we wanted to be represented. Lewis said "I don't give a stuff". In another place I'm on record as questioning Lewis' attitude. Last night he basically said to me "I'm a four time premiership player, I've done it all, I'm MFC's best player and I can do what I want and I don't care". I didn't get the sense that he understood that he's put at risk the volume of work and effort everyone on this list has done to achieve finals this year. He strikes me as an arrogant tool, not only to the public but to his teammates. He didn't give a rats that he'd broken someone's jaw. He's very self satisfied. Rather than seeing him in the coaches box for the next three weeks he should be doing some anger management and leadership courses. He should look at Viney, Oliver, Jones and Hunt as players that play the game really hard without needing to punch the opposition when it gets a bit hard. I can't agree with those saying he turned the game for us on Sunday, nor with those trying to defend him (or Vince or Hogan). He's put the season at risk through being a brain dead dumb ass and it looked to me last night like he couldn't give a damn.
  10. When you speak, we listen!
  11. I recall that there were queries around Petracca's attitude and fitness when we drafted him and the Saints were laughing that they'd dodged a bullet. I'm not so sure it was a no brainer as many think. Roos is on record of saying we'll take 2 of Brayshaw, McCartin and Petracca. I'm not sure you can be too critical of the Saints. Having said all that I'm exceptionally happy with where we find ourselves.
  12. Because as we know you can't get rid of all your list cloggers in one draft. If taking one for another means you get cheap deals on other players where is the cost? Marchbank and Pickett will be very good players. The balance were steak knives.
  13. I think we knew that!
  14. And that Max hurt his wrist. Max's wristy business: Injury scare for big man
  15. I think you've left out the best trade which, as far as I know, didn't relate to players. Pick 6 and 2016 first rounder for pick 3 (ended up being 4 when Sydney took Mills) and 9. Oliver and Weed will be foundation stones for a decade. Better than the Tyson/Salem deal in hindsight and I thought that was exceptional. I think Mark Neeld bought Taylor with him. In a funny sort of way it's ironic that whilst decimating the club he provided the foundation stone of the future.
  16. I agree, we are one tall short. Frost is very important to us I think but will get a game at Casey I'd imagine. He might come straight in but I doubt it. And I also agree with pushing Watts back if they start marking it and I agree with bringing Tyson and another small in. Hell, we could play a really small forward line and expose their tall defenders! I guess I just don't see a first game 200cm tall who looks way off the pace being a problem.
  17. Who played on Bruce, Reiwoldt and Membrey last week when Smith was injured? McKay hasn't played a game yet and looked totally lost at Casey. They may play him but I reckon any player could spoil him. I think you panic for no reason. If they do play him I'll be pleased. No defensive pressure, first game nerves and the McDonald brothers around to stop people marking. At best he'll mark a couple and may kick a couple of goals. We'll get more from rebounds with Jones, Lewis, Hunt and others running out of the backline. Like good teams, we'll just have to adjust. What's your suggestion Nut? Pedersen?
  18. I've enjoyed the game about 3 times now. I don't think Oscar is as "thin" as everyone is making out. He plays the defensive role pretty well and impacts a lot of contests. He also runs well and creates. Yes, he makes mistakes but I saw Jordan Lewis stuff up regularly on Sunday. Anyway we'll have this conversation every week this year I'd imagine, pity there isn't an ignore button for this.
  19. I'd write and thank them. Anyone who can watch Robbo has a much stronger stomach than me. Talk about a vacant space.
  20. Wow, third year tall KP player not preferred over 8th year elite defender. Big call. Or were you talking about Michael in which case I think a few would.
  21. Thanks for reminding me again Saty, I'd forgotten.
  22. You've never been known for your flexibility.
