carlton are absolutely screwed without fevola. and they have NO depth. take out murphy, gibbs judd and fev and they would get beaten by a LOT of teams. one advantage of our last few years with all the injuries and experimentation is that we will have fantastic depth going forward - lots of players with talent and experience to cover the odd injury or two.

the players other teams would like from our list. in no order watts davey jurrah sylvia grimes aussie green maybe rivers at a pinch if someone lacked a tall defender. i wouldnt trade frawley, although he might be in the same boat as rivers - someone might want him if they wanted a young full back. IMHO all those players are OFF the trade list. big time. anyone else they can trade away - except those drafter in the last 2 years. if someone is dumb enough to trade for them. [censored], id take pick 63 for miller. and pick 112 for bruce.

ive got this amazingly simple idea whereby you just do the entire order of the draft, picks 1-16, on the number of games won over 3 years, with the least amount first. then teams like collingwood in 05 who play finals either side wouldnt get pick 3.

or, you could just do the entire order of the draft on the number of wins over 3 years.

they wouldnt have had to have been so obvious except that richmond were so bloody bad

bs. col was suspended for 3 weeks. thats a long time out of footy. no matter who you are you should have a game with the 2s first. i have no problem with this at all. who knows what his form is like after no game for effectively 4 weeks? surely you would put someone into the team whose form was good, rather than pick someone whos form is unknown. and if you say he was in great form before his suspension id agree but thats a long time with no games.

its funny because i desperately want us to win when the game is being played. as soon as it stops i couldnt care less - actually id celebrate a win for about 10 mins and then be upset because the long term view would be [censored] - and i just want flag, not a win in a rain soaked wind blown vfl game in a city that couldnt get a crowd to a naked playboy girl jelly fight.

its all [censored]. the order of the draft should not be on ladder position after one year, but should be in order of the number of games a team has won over 3 years. if the total is under 12 over three years give them a priority pick before the draft, if it is under 16 give the team an extra pick at the end of the first round. sure you might get the odd team tanking each year but you would have to be truely crap to get a PP. and being that [censored] for 3 years would hurt your club significantly anyway. and it would stop teams (i hate to say it) like us in 2003 getting 2 top 5 picks and playing finals either side of that year!

perhaps 3 years then. and im not talking about priority picks here, im talking about the whole order of the draft. say you finish 16th, 16h and 14th, youve still been the worst team over 3 years, so you deserve pick 1. perhaps youve finished 1st then 16th and 16th, well you havent been the worst team over 3 years, but youve been 2nd worst, then you get the 2nd best pick. and so on. challenge for top 4 four years in a row and you get the worst pick. play in 3 grand finals in a row and you clearly dont need a bloody decent draft pick anyway.
