  1. Is that a joke, or do you really think he should play forward? For mine, we must keep him. Then we must pray. Then, hopefully, he will return to being a top-class defender.
  2. I understand that the demon might be at the forefront of Jim's mind, however the point of this thread was to take the jumper with the MFC insignia and find out how popular it is. It was 45hotgod's idea in another thread, and it shows how popular this jumper is amongst the Demonland fans. If you prefer the demon, you can vote for the second option in the poll.
  3. So long as we don't give up pick 1, 17 or 19 then I'd be happy to get him. But like most people I highly doubt it's true.
  4. I can't believe Yze got votes on Queens Birthday. And I also can't believe Wonna got no votes against Fremantle. But I'm glad Bate's work against Sydney was recognised.
  5. Interesting stuff WJ. Out of interest, does anyone know how many votes Richmond got last year? For comparison with our 24, which I thought was a decent amount considering our season (to put it another way, we averaged 8 votes a win...)
  6. Well, I reckon 68 out of 70 so far is pretty definitive. Hopefully some more votes come in soon, then I'll send the results to the club.
  7. We will get 6 votes out of the West Coast game, and another 8-10 from Brisbane and Fremantle. After that we're struggling, but we might pick up a 1 in the second Hawthorn game, or possibly the first Geelong game. But other than those two I can't think off the top of my head of any other votes, which makes a 'grand' total of 18 at absolute best, but more likely 14 or lower.
  8. That's not nonsense at all Mono. Bate does play the same role as O'Keefe. The difference is that O'Keefe is about 5 times better than Bate. But Bailey is developing Bate into a half-forward who can push up into the midfield at times.
  9. Copeland, Mills, Kiel and Chris Schmidt all delisted from Brisbane: http://www.lions.com.au/tabid/5085/Default.aspx?newsid=67882
  10. Star player, but I guess we can't entertain thoughts regarding anyone over the age of 25. 27 is too old for Melbourne, even if the player is Ryan O'Keefe.
  11. Actually I liked the way he played towards the end of the year; so much so that I would be inclined to keep him. I reckon he's got some real skill, and we all know that we desperately need players who can kick the ball. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised nor upset if he was traded.
  12. As Geddy pointed out, it's funny how good our youngsters look yet how incredibly bad our season was. Anyway, Morton first, Martin second, Wonaeamrri third. That's where they finished this year, but I think Maric will end up better than Martin and Wonna.
  13. That's a good point Chook, however I do remember reading earlier this year that Carlton was scrapping that jumper anyway, so that problem might fix itself. Well, at least I hope so. No worries 45. So far it looks like it was a good suggestion too, with 41 out of 42 votes going for it (97.62%). I hope that trend continues.
  14. Like bub, I really do like Petterd, but I fear we will never see him reach his potential thanks to injuries. But he has definitely shown enough in just 11 games to be persevered with.
  15. Fantastic read. Those statistics really do show how far behind we are.
  16. Yeah, from memory I believe he wasn't expected to be around when we got him at 14.
  17. Let's see how groin-grabbingly good this design is: If you like this one, vote (1). If you like any other design you have seen, vote (2) (and mention the design you prefer).
  18. Most of those figures were probably inflated by some much better games in the second half of the year. You missed my point, which is that Petrie and Hille didn't have as good a year as Sandilands. As Freak mentioned, Sandilands wasn't selected to tackle or kick goals. Petrie spent much more time in the forward line than Sandilands. And his ruckwork isn't as good as Sandilands'. Petrie kicked twice as many goals as Cox, and laid many more tackles too. Does that make him a better ruckman than Cox?
  19. If Port Adelaide are that stupid, then fine by me. But I highly doubt this will happen.
  20. Don't know anything about Bentley, but a definite no to Ray, Griffen and Tenace, unless they end up in the PSD, and there's absolutely no one else better that's available.
  21. 1. No white allowed. Therefore all 4 suck. 2. Plain and simple. Therefore all 4 suck. 3. No crap designs. Therefore all 4 suck. Sorry, but I really dislike all those jumpers above. Red background, blue MFC/demon. That's it.
  22. Yeah I thought the same thing. Can't believe these selectors think Judd is a better captain than Harley. Not only has Harley had to work for his position (and hold it in an extremely good team), but surely the win-loss ratio means something? Yeah, well name another ruckman who had a better year than Sandilands (other than Cox of course). There isn't one. Hille played 4-6 outstanding games, but went midding for the other 16-18. Petrie was just an average player for the first half of the year. Sandilands was consistently the second best ruckman in the competition this year. He excels not just in hit outs but also clearances and contested possessions. The All-Australian team is a team consisting of the year's best 22 players. Sandilands' 2008 was better than any other ruckman's (bar Cox). 'Tis sad, especially when Robbo missed out in '06 (I think). But notice too that Collingwood rarely gets a player in, even though they made a prelim final last year and a semi this year. I think Medhurst is their only player in the 44 selections over the past 2 years.
  23. Correct. If we drop the Melbourne we will die.
  24. Gee, if I were one of those three I'd be enjoying my time at Carlton. That kind of money far exceeds what they deserve based on their ability.
